Thank you Doug, handy but for the £15 or so I spent 20 years ago on a HSS version I am not a big fan of making these. The amount of wood cut by a slim parting tool means they only need sharpening a couple of times a year, so barring accidents even my great great grandson could still be using the one I bought.
Thanks Pete. The only thing I did differently when I made one some time ago was using an angle grinder with a DeWalt DeWalt DT42335TZ-QZ Metal Cutting Disc 115mm (4 1/2") x 22.2mm. I've used these discs to cut through steel planer blades with ease and for general mild steel cutting. They really last a long time compared to those Dremel-type discs. So if you have an angle grinder with a 22.2mm arbor, I'd recommend getting these.
@@PeteTwistedTrees I got the Record Power one, so for the small gain I don't think it's worth me making one. I didn't know this before your video, so thanks.
Nice job Pete. And it comes with a built-in handle! 😊
Thank you Todd, quick and easy tool and a use for kitchen knives past their best.
Well done Pete. I have 2, one from a large kitchen knife like the first one you made, the other is made from a sawzall blade. I used them both today.

That was pretty cool Pete. Thank you for sharing. See you on the next one
Thank you Al

I did once have a 4" angle grinder, lent it out it never came back :-(
Well done Pete
Thank you Ruby, safe trip see you Sunday
Thanks Pete, I'll stick with the ones I already have.
Could well be useful for making specific tools though.
Take care mate.
Cheers, Huw
I would stick to HSS those 3 will be given away 0.3mm is not enough of a difference to make them interesting.
saved me making one thanks
They are easy to do, but because you don't know the steel keep it short and watch for flex they may be brittle (or buy one they last forever!)
