    Good review thanks! We got only 22k out of the oem Ecopia 422 h/l plus on a crv awd. That’s our experience with them. Were quiet, dry was good, rain just eh not amazing, snow and ice just ok when new but after about 20k wasn’t even ok - would slide around. Got crossclimate 2’s and their absolutely great. Only downside is a little more noise, .5mpg decline on avg and a tiny bit of on center lull, plus price is high. Upsides are great dry, good in rain and good winter - even does ok in ice.

    when I got my 2011 outback it had the Ecopias on it. never had premature ware issues or issues on wet roads. I live in Seattle. the only time I didn't like the tires was in the snow, they were awful. This first set were replaced at about 65k miles. Replaced the 2nd set at about 35k miles and opted for Geolander G015 ATs this time around. fuel milage did drop with the ATs by about 2mpg over all.

    I changed my factory tires for Firestone Destination tires in my sienna hybrid and I lost four miles per gallon

    This is the stock tire for the Nissan leaf. Except it doesn't have the plus your tire is actually the better rated tire. My Nissan leaf original tires only made it to 14,000 miles. I wish I got 57 thousand miles, I would be very happy. I just bought a new set of the ep422 Plus because it's highly rated for low rolling resistance.

    These are the EP version of the tire, I bought a 2020 Honda CR-V EX-L with an OEM version of the H/L version.
    So the Yokohama’s you talk about are the same - you can’t just go to Costco and buy that tire. I’m in Canada so that can be different as well but Bridgestone and Honda are both based in SC so they likely work closely together on their OEM requirements.
    If you check Tyre Reviews they actually did a test of the M4 ORM Tire vs the retail version of the Pilot Sport by Michelin. The OEM tire totally destroyed the retail tire in testing. Pretty interesting stuff.
    The tire I have has a totally different tread pattern than either the retail version of the EP or HL. Mine is 103H and HL stands for Highway Luxury, EP is usually for Environmental Performance.
    OEMs can have completely different tread compounds as well. I notice you are using these in the winter and letting them wear down below 5/32”. I wouldn’t go through a winter like that even with AWD.
    The weight of the SUV should help but I just know we did a 270 hitting some black ice in a Toyota Sienna FWD on new Michelin A/S.
    Driving in the snow on any A/S tire is high risk. I bought Michelin X-Ice Snow and put on 15K last winter. So now I only have 40K (km not miles) on my Bridgestone A/S tires and don’t have to consider changing them for several years.
    We always changed them at 6/32” prior to the winter, but with Cold Weather Tires every October your All-Seasons really become 3 seasons, or 1 season.
    You can really extend the life for your tires. It’s not surprising you are not getting 70K and your Yokohamas were going flat if your Forrester is heavy and you are using it year round on A/S tires.
    Winter here can be harsh, -30 Celsius, salt and steep hills in the Snow Belt. Plus we often travel to Florida once in the winter.

    My RAV4 came with these from the factory. And I never cared for them. I put on the Goodyear weather ready as soon as they wore out. Only lasted about 40,000 miles. I’m now looking into Michelin’s since putting them on my dad’s car. I noticed you showed the Pirelli P4 and I’d advise you to stay away. They were recommended by Sam’s staff. And when new they were okay for the price. After about 37,000 miles I’ve worn them out considerably. They don’t last anything near their 90,000 tread life. Also I don’t have traction anymore. At the stability control kicks in on the highway when attempting to pass semi trucks. I never noticed had this problem with other tires.

    Thanks for the video. I have a set of the Ecopia EP422's on both my 2021 Camry and 2014 Corolla.... Not by choice though because these came with the cars when I purchased them. I've already put 12k miles on my Corolla and it looks like the Ecopia's are wearing out faster than normal. I've already had 1 flat tire. Also, the 195/65/15 91H version is a little squishy and it doesn't always handle well when I'm going above 70mph. The 215/55/17 on my Camry handle a little bit better due to the lower profile and wider tread, but they don't handle as well as the Michelin Premier or Goodyear Tripletreads that were on my old 1997 Camry.
    Would I buy these tires?.... NO! And in fact I'm looking to replace the Ecopia's on my Corolla with a set of Michelin Premier or Cross Climate tires.
    The mileage warranty you see with tires is just a warranty and it's not necessarily how long the tire will last. I've had some tires go over the warranty and some go bald (Tripletreads) 10k before the warranty. I had a set of Michelin X-Radials that went 15k over the warranty for 85k miles and a set of MXV4's that were 5k over and these were still at 4/32 (1/8th) but I replaced them early because of icy roads.

    I have a set of these on my new Prius and at the 25k mile oil change, the dealer told me I needed new tires. Of course I asked hun to go back and check if I still had 4 tires. He replied yes. Then I guess I don’t need tires. But yea, these are unimpressive tires. I’ll check out your other video.

    👍Thanks for your honest opinion. I find it helpful. Bridgestone is a good brand, but this particular model tires do not give smooth ride - particularly on the freeway, and they are noisy. They also got worn out faster than Bridgestone claims with my experience of those tires.

    57 thousand miles is pretty good for mileage? If you expect a tire to work decent in snow ❄️ you need a 4 season mountain snowflake rating tire not an all season tire! All season tires are poorly named, they should be called three season tires. You should be happy with the Falcon tires for winter use or Cooper at3 4s ?

    • @MTsubfly
      @MTsubfly  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good choice, my opinion is they don't have very good deals. Each time I went for rotations, (tried 3 costcos) they all take over 2 hours to rotate. The tire was just OK, ya know nothing to write home about, so many better deals out there.

    I doubt your car didn’t need a alignment . Almost every car is going to need a alignment every 40,000 miles . Did u go to the dealership for alignment ? Your ride looks bouncy too like you need a alignment

    • @MTsubfly
      @MTsubfly  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope Alignment is good! Ride is normal, wear on the new tires is normal. No worries!

    I have original tires on my car after 60,000km, about 40,000 miles. I just upgraded my car but would have been replacing them soon. My new car has Bridgestone Ecopia which I expect are the same, but I wouldn’t keep them past 6/32 of tread depth. Also, most people don’t know how to avoid tread wear, so yeah if you are driving on poor roads, you will get more wear. Since these were not OEM it sounds like you bought them because they were cheap, not good, the last time I replaced my OEM’s it was for a Michelin Defender, if you are this concerned get those or the Winter Tire options. Michelin is worth the $$

    • @MTsubfly
      @MTsubfly  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No actually they are not cheap tires at all. They are best suited for a hwy commuter in warmer climates. After 58k miles on every road type, I got my use out of them. But they are not a good value. If you don't care about your hard earned dollar, then buy Michelin. I've had a few in the past, one was great, one was so so, but they are all higher cost. I have found high value in cooper discoverers, and falken Wildpeak, and pocketed hundreds of savings.
      The only way to avoid "bad roads" is if you drive a pavement princess. I go everywhere. Check out the Falken AT Trails.

      MT it might depend where you live, if you are in a rural area with gravel, or mud conditions totally different experience. It’s not just the mileage, it’s road conditions. Heck I know people who go through a set of off-road tires every 12 months

    • @MTsubfly
      @MTsubfly  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SCraig-Handsome as do I, those folks who burn through tires typically have to replace those tires due to their driving style. My review is based on typical driving situations of the PNW. Take it as it is.
