Love this 😊 I started my online book club last night! We met up on zoom and put together a big list of books to chose from - starting with An American Marriage. Excited to share my love of books with friends!
All the Birds, Singing by Evie Wyld, Normal People by Sally Rooney and Home Fire by Kamila Shamsie have provided the material for my favourite book club discussions so far! At the moment we're reading Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro.
I loved being in the patreon book club - it was the highlight of my month! :) I had to cancel last year because we were buying a house and every penny counts.... but I’ve put it on my birthday list to be signed up again for the year so I hope I’ll see you soon!!!
Mauler and Questus by english writer Shawn Williamson. Mauler is indicated by english historian, writer and cinema director Andrew Sinclair. He compares It with White Fang by Jack London.
Well, I'm watching this video 2yrs after it was made, I want to start a book club and I Don't know how to go about it, maybe I need to join a book club, see and feel how it's done.
I've been a member of a book group for about 10 years. We've now gone to Skype, which seems to work. We're reading A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles for next month (fitting given it's about a bloke under house arrest). We tend to read literary fiction. Will probably pitch Girl Woman Other for our next read. Think that's the best book I've read this year so far
Great video as usual! Slightly off - topic, but I find it such a pleasure watching you & David living in a real home full of books. I follow various TH-camrs , and while their houses are lovely I'm always keeping an eye out for even a hint of a book in their pristine interiors - I'm usually disappointed! By the way, Lauren, your hair looks gorgeous in this video!
I do wonder how much I'd enjoy the way Patreon BC is run - one of my favourite things about my book club is hearing people talk and being able to hear other people's opinions in real time. I'm not sure seeing/hearing just one person talk is something I'd enjoy. But it seems to work really well for you guys so hey, what do I know?

I became a member of your patreon book club the end of last month. I can’t wait till the end of the month to discuss the book 😊

You didn’t give any advice on running a book club, this should be retitled, “The book clubs I run or are a member of.”

Did you ever start? I'm looking to start as well. Any pointers will help. Thanks
