CRAB & MANGO CURRY RECIPE

  • Crab & Mango Curry is a age old curry prepared in the western ghats of India. It is spicy & tangy curry with a hint of sweetness from Mango. This curry is best served with steaming hot rice.
    Ingredients
    For Masala:
    Dry Roasted Red Chilli - 13 nos (10 long, 3 short ) can be reduced according to one's preference
    Dry Roasted Coriander Seeds - 1.5 tablsepoon
    Dry Roasted Cumin - 1 teaspoon
    Dry Roasted Peppercorn - 1 teaspoon
    Onion - 1
    Garlic - 5
    Tamarind - lime size ( depends on the sugariness of Mango)
    Tumeric Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
    Fresh Coconut - 1/2 cup
    Water - 2.5 cup ( 1.5 cup to grind, 1 cup for curry) this can vary depending on one's preference for the thickness of the curry
    For Curry:
    Ground Masala
    Salt - 1 tablespoon ( as per the taste)
    Mango - 1 (large)
    Crab - 1 kg
    For Tempering:
    Coconut oil - 2 tablespoon
    Onion - 1 (large)
    Curry leaves - 5 to 10
