The drummer in the video didn't play on that session, but is great. To hear his sound, take a listen to Big Country "Fields of Fire (Alternate Single Mix)" and his lush china crashes on "Inwards"

A mid-80s banger... singer Ian Astbury was originally picked to play Jim Morrison in Oliver Stone's 'The Doors', but neither he nor the surviving members of the Doors liked the way Morrison was to be portrayed. Toured with the the remaining members as the 20th Century Doors for part of the early 2000s.

_Love_ is the best album of the 1980s & there's a reason people continue to discover it 35 years on.
"Sanctuary" was the popular, radio friendly single but every track on _Love_ is holy 🔥. Check out:
    👉 "The Phoenix"
    👉 "Brother Wolf, Sister Moon"

At the time this song and the Album Love got the goths on the dance floor and brought them into the mainstream charts. Very 80s to me. Next Album Electric they changed style to an ACDC sound, refreshing their fan base. A great live band. Ah the mid 80s indie scene.

Interesting observation "90s vibe." The Cult might have been slightly ahead of their time. Sort of a bridge between hair/heavy metal of the early 80s and postpunk heavy metal and grunge of the late 80s into the 90s. One of those bands that probably should have been bigger.

This may make me very unpopular with my fellow X-gener friends...but, really, "Fire Woman" was the only song I really loved by them. (Okay, beat me now) however, I would suggest you explore Sisters of Mercy and early NIN more (meaning Pretty Hate Machine" record more. Oh....Peter Murphy and Daniel Ash would be awesome rabbit holes to jump into.... they were both from the band Bauhaus, most popular song " Bella Lugosi's Dead' which is the ultimate goth classic. So just some suggestions to think about. Also, check out "Everybody knows" cover by Concrete Blonde.... incredible... however, for some reason, I think you would like their "I'm still in Hollywood" best

Could you do one of David Bowies harder tunes from his industrial period in the 90s. The Voyeur of Utter Destruction live: m.th-cam.com/video/Xup_RSisiWQ/w-d-xo.html
You haven’t really done any of his more experimental material. Most reactors never gets any further than the (many) hits, thats such a shame.

Take away the powerful production, performance visuals, boil it down to just melody/harmony “acoustic” version as a songwriter might present it, and in essence you’re left with .....not much!
