I was able to find a work temperature gauge to replace mine that had broken. Those things are always on, always showing the temperature the only electric part is the lamp for nighttime like the others.

Good Volvo vid. I have an 1800 S . There was a mention about someone in Vancouver that works on oil /water gauges . Can you let me know who this person is ? Mine like many others needs to be repaired. Thanks in advance. Carl

0:50 Did 'ya catch that? 5:24 It's not a 'P' 1800s. They stopped the 'p' in 1963 when Volvo brought the manufacturing to Sweden.

Jamie calls it a P1800S, at about :55 in.
You can argue with him I guess? AFAIK the name switched to P1800S when they moved production to Sweden, and the P was dropped much later when they went to a 2L engine in 1968.
      Hope that helps.

I have a green 68, what is the stated color number on your car? Mine in 94 and people ask me if that is a factor color. I say yes because I got a touch up pen from the Volvo dealer on Broadway in Oakland by asking for and a number 94 pen in green.
    Thanks

Jamie, was the lady you bought this from the daughter of the "Cat Lady"? She had this car in Seattle in 1966 and I fell in love with P1800s then. Sadly, she took her life (and her cats') a few years later.

No, not the Seattle cat lady. The previous owner bought the car new in Montreal and brought it to Victoria BC shortly thereafter. The cat sat in her driveway for about 26 years unproven. Many passed on buying the car due to the condition. She had lost her husband a few years before I met her. Interesting when we were towing the car away, the amount of interest shown by some neighbours who had become used to see it as a local fixture.
The car was outlined in a two page article in the Hagerty (Insurance) magazine in May 2019 which I can send you if you want.

I just checked it. Funny, on my laptop the soundtrack seemed off from the video, but when I scrolled to different sections it was fine. I have a feeling it might be a youtube server issue if anything, since this vid has been up for a couple of months with no known issues. Hope it works for you.
