A few months ago, someone from the crew confirmed she actually has it. The crew did a good job characterizing it as they went along even if it wasn't part of the original plan.
as somebody on the spectrum, i LOVE marcy. ngl, i cried at the scene of her trying to show her friends the movie. it just hit so close to home. i barely talk to a lot of people about my special interests, because my family just usually ignores me.
The saddest part is the way she said again at 0:33 , because it proves her friends often ignore her, and she's used to it, yet still cares for them and still doesn't want to be separated from them. By the way, by ignored I mean generally ignoring her feelings, her interests, etc, because IK Anne is always trying to look out for her.
i think this quite happens to me with people like friends irl, school, and other stuff because im autistic aswell and, i really want more attention and more respect, im not really the same as marcy, distracted and all elegent.
Well, I mean, realistically speaking, Anne is a better person than Marcy. Marcy was EXTREMELY selfish and inconsiderate of everyone around her. She also kidnapped her friends and was planning to forever.
@@xempororhxppyx alright she’s a teenage girl who had a poorly thought out plan (which she didn’t even think would work) after learning about leaving her best friends forever not a criminal mastermind. Not to mention she was absolutely distraught over doing it to her friends so I think we can give her a little credit
I'm not autistic, but I am neurodiverse and relate to Marcy a lot. I love to read, and love obscure TV shows and movies, so I related to things like her line about reading in Gym, and how she cares a lot about the games and movies she's passionate about, as I read in class a lot when I was younger, and I'm very passionate about the movies and shows I watch. She's a very fun, likable, and relatable character that I take a lot of comfort in, and is easily my second favorite Amphibia character, only behind Hop Pop.
I have ADHD and as soon as I saw her character in a random compilation I immediately searched up what show she was from. I instantly loved her character 1:14 also That looks like a nintendo switch and I love Nintendo qnd I have a switch soooo
That first clip really speaks to me. I am also on the Autism spectrum, and my special interest is animals, dinosaurs specifically. Everytime I got into talking about animals, or new discoveries about dinosaurs with classmates, I always felt like everyone just sat through what I had to say without really listening to anything. They just stayed silent and waited for me to finish so they could promptly ignore me and talk about something else. Even when I was in conversation with someone, I felt like they just wanted to talk with someone else. That clip made me feel for Marcy, she really loved that movie and wanted to talk all about it, but her friends were just disinterested. I really get that feeling of dejection, realizing no one cares about what you have to say mid-conversation, and you're either told to stop talking, or you catch yourself and just back away silently.
@Irishmando155 The one with spikes on the tail? That's Stegosaurus, but there are also many other dinosaurs related to Stegosaurus that have way more spikes. Also, the name you mentioned refers to a different dinosaur called Brachiosaurus, the long-necked one that was in the first Jurassic Park movie. You did spell it wrong, but I don't blame you, a lot of dinosaur names are hard to spell. I don't know much about weather though. Yet I have seen a video predicting that this winter is going to have some really big blizzards in Northeastern U.S. I just hope it doesn't get too cold too quick where I am, I like to actually enjoy autumn without wearing layers.
@Irishmando155 I like it at first, but it gets old fast. Where I live, December barely gets any snow, then when January comes up, it gets a lot of snow, and the snow and ice doesn't let up until March or April. However, I still like some things about snow, I remember playing outside and digging out burrows in the snow drifts, and I love the cozy feeling of being warm inside after spending some time being cold outside. The holiday season can also be pretty fun as well.
@Irishmando155 Dang, and here I thought Midwest weather was weird. I remember a week in spring, one day it was freezing rain, then a couple days after that it was warm enough to wear a t-shirt, then a day after that it was snowing.
as a autistic guy myself i agree with the title here. is is likely one of the best reps i have seen. she feels way more like a normal human being then many others we have seen in other shows. i cant relate with everything about her. but no one really can. what matters is how much she means to me as good rep. i love her alot, and she is def worthy of being one of my fav animation characters of all time
I have autism myself along with some obsessive compulsive disorder symptoms, so I totally relate to Marcy, with certain stuff like a love for gaming, and not looking where I am going because I'm focused on something else sometimes.
I relate with Marcy the most out of the three, both of us have autism, then we both have big interests in specific subjects. I’m not sure if that’s for everyone or if Marcy has autism but it is strikingly interesting with how similar we are.
also the scene where marcy tells anne she haa trouble looking people in the eyes which is so relatable (i only look people i trust in the eyes or people that are far far far away from me)

I am actually Autistic myself, but I never actually got that invested into Marcy’s character. There are things I like such as her enthusiasm for learning and geekiness for things she loves. But I can’t relate to her love of games, RPGs, and anime ( my special interest is wild animals ). And sometimes it feels like her quirks are forced. It really feels like Marcy’s quirks are her dominant trait, and it is frustrating to see her demonstrated as this super genius when not all Aspies are like that. Yes we have special interests but it feels like Marcy is automatically good at everything (In the scavenger hunt episode, I honestly resonated with Anne more because one part of being Autistic I struggle with is feeling inadequate compared to my peers and that no matter how hard I try, I will not be good enough). Luz feels like better rep because while we see she is good at the things she likes, she does struggle with other aspects, and we see more of her low esteem, which is something I also struggle with. I honestly think Luz is a better representation of ADHD and Autism than Marcy.
You think they feel forced? I’m autistic too. Marcy’s my favourite.
0:58 I can relate to this part.
Marcy is my top kin ngl
Just like me fr!! 🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥
Ya know I never knew it was possible to fall in love with a fictional character.....until now....man my life sucks 🥲
Sorry but I have to disagree, Marcy displays more symptoms of dyspraxia than autism and any dyspraxic rep, which is very common is important to be preserved 😅, while both headcanons are fine positions to take I see more evidence on the side of dyspraxia ❤
okk.. but the creator says she has autism. like it's canon that she has autism
@@Y_AXiSs didn't he say she DIDN'T have, but was glad people on the spectrum could relate to her ?
No worries
Me and marcy share a brain
I relate to Marcy so much
0:55 I’m guessing Macy taught this to General Yunan.
Or Yunan taught Marcy
Marcy is my kid
I get called a horrible names just for liking anime and I'm autistic. I don't see the big deal because people go crazy about football which is the most boring thing ever.
Finally someone i relate too
ugH i relate so badly, i don’t see all the rage over sports n’ shit. i’m just over here doing my own thing rage quitting over anthropomorphic cephalopods
she is literally me
Im not sure if im autistic or not and im not gonna trust the buzzfeed quizzes but shes so me fr
