this plug is awesome and I use it all the time....it makes me feel lazy though...I'm always feeling like I should've worked harder to get such a good sounds and when someone tells me the guitar sounds great I'm always kind of scratching my neck like "yeahhhh....thanks man..."
This is a really great run through of the plug-in. Way better (in my opinion) than the promo material Waves uses for it. It gives a much clearer/better idea of the capabilities of the plugin. Thanks Brett!
WOW!! I just got the CLA Sig Series for my studio and this review has me insanely excited to fire this plug up, as I have not, as of this comment!! THIS is how a review should be... a great player and great sound to demonstrate the plug! Great job Brett!! I have subscribed to your channel!! Cheers to you ! Bob
This is a fantastic plugin. I use it on every track. Before I even tweak the settings, it improves the guitar sound as soon as I throw on to the track. Save a ton by getting it from the Waves site.
Waves GTR is an amp and effects sim - plugin and standalone - that draws from Waves' effects legacy and the amp collection of one Paul Reed Smith. Check it out on their site. It's one of the best sounding and lowest CPU demanding sims out there.
No, no, you're not getting what I'm saying. I said that "...that have probably been lifted from the GTR plug", meaning the code was probably ported from GTR to CLA Guitars simply because it was there, available and sounded great. The three amps are already in the CLA plug so no need to route the two of them unless you want to get crazy with all of the amps and stomps on offer inside GTR. For me, though, CLA is enough. Most of the time... :)
Hum I see now. I will explore the CLA more for sure. I did a video some days ago and I didnt want to tweak very much with the Logic plugins so I just used a CLA preset for the signal (already with drive from the amp), and people loved how it sounded. It is the PARTY IN SIMON PANT's solo from my channel. Tks & cheers from Brazil!
Thanks. And, yes, I agree! They've never shown much interest in me, though. But I do get time-limited use of their stuff to use. That's something, I guess. :)
My friend Fernando is correct: it takes care of the works - amps, effects, cabs... A very cool program. I am running direct to an Mbox 3 Pro and then to the computer. A pretty simple setup, really. You'll need a machine with some grunt to play at low latency, though; I'm running 3.6GHz iMac with 16 GB RAM. And it's great fun! Heheh.
I downloaded a demo of this based on your video, and a GTR3 demo for comparison. This is simply amazing for the price and offers a much better sound than the GTR3, or even the NI Guitar Rig or AmpliTube. It’s works especially well with the Ignite Amps plug-ins placed before for even more variety. Really impressed with it so I bought it straight away. Thanks for the video wouldn’t have known about this otherwise.
Thanks for the kind words. It was just a quick one I put together to spread the word. With regards to the CPU hit you have to remember that Pro Tools or some other similar host needs to be running because it's not a standalone plug-in. That said, it's not too hungry on my machine and I was running it at 128 samples when I shot this. My Mac's specs are in the info block just below the video if you're interested. Cheers, B.
Well I’m a bit late on this plug in, wondering if you have the same love for this? Has it been replaced by another plugin? As a guitarist playing at home, I’m looking for a nice tone that inspires. I love the channel and you are a go to source!! Thanx
Hi Brett Just viewed this plug-in now and reached out to order it. I looked at the specs and realised that I have a Pro Tools 8.0.4 for Windows and this plug-in is not supported by it. There goes my dreams for this plug-in. I haven't upgraded because my PT 8.0.4 is churning out great stuff for me. Wish this plug-in could have at least been used on PT 8.
The CLA plug is not standalone; it needs a 'host' application to run in like Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, etc. To my knowledge you can use pretty much any interface including the Guitar Port. Cheers, B.
Been using Waves Plugins ever since I spotted them in your video descriptions :D Usually just run pretty flat for electric guitars and the stock presets for my Cole Clark Acoustic Electric sounds pretty good too me ;) I listen with my eyes anyway hah^^
Hey Brett, can I use any old cheap guitar interface to do this? I own a line 6 guitar port but do I need a different interface to plug into my computer? I am low on funds and looking for a budget route.Computer is an IBM. Any "interface: info would be great! Thanks and great vids!
Can anybody help me please? I bought the CLA and am using it with Studio One Artist that came with my AudioBox by Presonus. I'm not impressed with the sounds it makes but I liaised with CLA and they said 'Artist' won't hold it, and that I'd have to go for Professional which is a hell of a lot more money! Any insights or support most welcome. Thanks.
Somebody can help me? I need to set my computer using logic pro 9 for using this pluging in stage I need to configue logic for sound this pluging not just once recorded instead when I am playing, I mean inmediately as Brett Kingman in this video... Thanks any help
***** Oh My God. You did it with Guitar, audio interface and PC? I have been looking to get this kind of sounds for an year. I have scarlett 2i2 audio interface, esp ltd f10 guitar and a pc. But cant get this kind of sound. All I get is crappy sound. This video was just what I imagined things in my dream xD Can you help me out to get this kind of sound without an AMP? I am very tight on budget so I just have a guitar, audio interface and a pc. Currently I use guitar rig in ableton to record my guitar. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, I'm flattered. It will be interesting to see if Waves like it too... :) Cheers, B.
I use BIAS but i have to say i really like this sound.Everything sounds like the best guitars of 60 - 70ths.Super job guys.

That sounds fan-bloody-tastic. I am going to have to look into this product some more. Thanks for the demo/review :)

Wow Brett, I'd used the effect section from it but never the amps. They sound very good!

Thanks largely to you! :)
Hi Brett awesome mate. Are you on a mac or pc and what interface and are your pickups noiseless? Or do you EQ the noise out plugin
Been using Waves Plugins ever since I spotted them in your video descriptions :D
Usually just run pretty flat for electric guitars and the stock presets for my Cole Clark Acoustic Electric sounds pretty good too me ;) I listen with my eyes anyway hah^^
Nice Brett , When are you demoing new Buffalo pedal.
So, the great AMP sounds are from the GTR (not the CLA) plugin? Any special trick for routing both one inside another if that was the case? Tks!
Thanks for your video mate, this was really helpful! You just sold me :)
Great guitar sound! What pickups is that you are using in your guitar?
Thank you! :-)

Thanks a lot, don't know, that it's possible with the CLA - like the P-F-Solo in this tutorial ... :-)
Great video with only one complaint ... if you could make the text larger for us vision impaired folks out there it would be awesome : )
Are those presets included with the plugin?
They are! I've owned CLA all this time and can't believe I didn't try that Edgey Strat preset before!
Can anybody help me please? I bought the CLA and am using it with Studio One Artist that came with my AudioBox by Presonus.
