HE GOT THE MILWAUKEEEEEEEE 🔥 🔥 💪🏻 💪🏻 LETS GOOOO BIG CURT!!!!
I know it’s expensive, but once the investment is made, it sure is nice.
@@HVACGUY they have a deal here in Huntsville, AL where you buy 3g worth of fittings and you get the Milwaukee for free
Great channel! I'm also in the business. Huge fan. You do great work.
The sounds of a Goodman, just had mine replaced though it did last 7 years which was astonishing.
I'd imagine their electric furnaces are better than their gas ones. You would think they'd improve under Daikin ownership...
That pro press makes things so much easier. I loved it
Excellent job and have a good day 😀
Oh wow that’s a cool trick with powering the vacuum pump
Keep it up mate
Good job Curtis! You're a real tech, not a system salesman!
Excellent work curtis
Thanks
Love me some Milwaukee pro press saves money in the long run verses the cost of acetylene n oxygen thanks for the video skin👍
Awesome video Curtis as always, happy to see you using your new toy I told my wife I'm putting it on my Christmas list 😂😂😂. Much respect from cali 👊
Thanks
I’ve never seen Anyone bypass the inside filter drier like that. Good idea 👍🏼👍🏼
Your getting better and better Thx for posting ...
You should always ream the OD of the pipe with those rls fitting’s/zoomlock. You will come to learn how easily the o rings get damaged or come out of their seat
I like your work, you have a great attitude and you can tell when a man likes his job. It really does make all the difference in the world. Man that is some big evaporators, do you ever try to just pinpoint the leak and repair them? I'm asking you that because the old one looked like it was in fairly good shape, not all corroded as many are.
Not if it’s aluminum
@@HVACGUY Gotcha, thanks for the reply.
I like the new tool,👍
Good job even with the press lol
Man that press tool is awesome. Great video.
I have found out it makes it easier to do out door work where their is a lot of leaves and other lose stuff is by using a leaf blower less chance to catch things of fire
I love the new pro press. I’ve yet to understand why they are so darned expensive! Plus the RLS connectors are expensive. But it sure is a time saver and that equals money. Have a wonderful Easter.
🔥 Fire 🔥
Great job 😊😊😊
great video thanks for the lesson
RLS press, Nice!
A new toy!
How is the pro press on refrigeration lines working for you??
Would like some feedback because I’m considering investing in a tool.
Thx
What is it with Goodman evaporator coils? Seems to such a recurring issue, not only on your channel but friends of mine.
You need to leave a tag on the unit with what you did and the date like Steve Lavimoniere does, Curtis.
Changing filter drier is recommended/required but it's really not necessary in this case....but going the extra mile is commendable, good job.
Please explain to me when you say changing the dryer is recommended/ required, but it is not necessary in this case. It is required by manufacturers and it is best refrigeration practice to change the dryer anytime the system is opened. Not doing it is just plain laziness.
Please explain recommended/required, that's a contradiction. Also, in what case would it be required?
@@rodgraff1782 A lot of things in hvac are required but not necessary. The tech has to make a judgement call in every situation because they're all different.
@@woodworkking1099 tell me you suck at hvac without telling me you suck at hvac. When you don’t change the filter dryer, you won’t pull a good vacuum. You release trash back into system. Go find another job
Fairly new to the trade still. That spot where liquid line bolts on, is that the piston? Or is it further behind that small panel
That’s was the piston directly behind that
It seems to me that AC equipment, especially coils, is not lasting as long as used to be the case; or is that a wrongful perception on my part? Another quality video from the CC man. 😎
So short lived are the R410 ones!
China
We were told the aluminum coils were supposed to solve the formicary corrosion.
As somebody that has been in the field for 15 years, here is my two cents on the matter. Refrigerant 410A uses POE oil and will absolutely cause terrible acid buildup if not installed and evacuated properly. A lot of companies do not properly train their technicians, and as a result, we have a lot of coils in the wild that have acid buildup and shortly thereafter, refrigerant leaks. I can’t understate how critical it has to evacuate properly. Also, Goodman sucks in general
Do you use RLS fittings all the time now or still brazing
still do a lot of brazing . it’s not always easy to use press fittings
00:12:09 How close can you braze next to that new joint? Just in case I don't have a press tool?
If you’re talking about welding near the press fitting, it’d better to cut it out. It has a rubber o-ring in it, that can’t get hot.
Hi Curtis that Fieldpiece detector can find leak with 100% Nitrogen or do you need some mixed refrigerant with Nitro? Thanks for answer
Gotta have some refrigerant
6 yrs of installing, 3 as a lead. Should I have upgraded from a turbo torch by now?
Some swear by them. If you are good with it, maybe not. I just prefer the oxy/acetylene
Can you tell us what size tip you use for brazing, I’m trying to learn to use one

What happened to your stratus? Also have you used the inficon whisperer before?
I still have the stratus, but it has been acting crazily
@@HVACGUY im in the process of getting a leak detector but don’t know which one to get
Coils seem like they Fail a Lot. I had one Fail years ago and Copper was Replaced with Stainless Steel tubing. Is the Pressure the Reason they Fail. Thanks! 👍🙏
Lots of variables go into why they leak like pressure, age, chemicals in the air.
I notice you’re using the Fieldpiece leak detector again lately. If I am recalling correctly you weren’t that fond of it when you first tried it. Have you gotten a better opinion of it? In the market for a new leak detector. I’ve heard the Inficon DTek Stratus is good as is the H10 pro but wanted to get your input on the fieldpiece. These things ain’t cheap….
I’ve had multiple issues with them, and even with this one. The sensor seems to fail after just 8-10 hours of use.
Good to know, thanks for the feedback. I’ll keep shopping around. Heard some good things about Elitech🤷♂️
The pink tanks are 410a but what are the blue tanks?
no vent after the trap, wonder how it ever drained properly
pro press? I never seen you use that before! WHAT IN TARNATION CURTIS ?
Those are not your Average Pro-Press Fittings. They are Refrigeration Specific.
That’s not Pro Press, its RLS, much different pressure ratings.
@@HVACGUY Thanks for the reply. Always learning from the HVACGUY!
Don't be surprised if those crimped connections start leaking especially on heat pumps cause of expanding and contraction O rings go bad back in 80s carrier had a similar connections that started leaking.
Do you have a part number for that hand bender @hvacguy
There should be a link to a similar one in the description. I’ve had that one for almost two decades.
When I type in anything concerning filter dryer at true tech tools. No results. What is the way you found those extended copper dryers?
3/8 biflow liquid line drier extended copper
For some reason they don’t carry them anymore
Supply House has them
The drier position on these is terrible. I just cut it out and add some 3/8 copper in its place. Filter drier goes inside by the evaporator
Typical Goodman, replaced my Amana, aka, Goodman after two evap coil failures
What kind of sensor is in the Fieldpiece leak detector? Heated diode? I found the D-TEK ones a bit interesting, seeing how they were able to implement a full fledged FTIR detector in such a small unit- but then Inficon is one of the top companies in the field of precision sensors.
Heated diode
When is Goodman going to stop putting that drier in the condenser?
Putting it in there means it don’t get changed most of the time.
Does the leak detector picks up nitrogen?
Do you have the heated diode ?
Yes
I talked to true tech. They said they no longer have them
How come you dont have to put a service sticker on the unit to say what was done, dated, that way the next service guy can see what was done.
Less danger because it was a gas leak, the house can go on flame
I am really amazed that you dont shop vac the leaves and crap out first, and pour some water in the bottom of the condenser unit. Again, i guess its run and gun if you're doing it for a living.
Goodman has a leaking problem
Those crimp joints are gonna be leakers in 5 years ...
Sell me your old vacuum pump Curtis
