    The Axis has a far more erratic swim pattern - I think it's more likely to catch a fish's attention, but honestly, the Jabber Jaw might be more likely to draw a bite. I love my 6th Sense products, but I might have to give the edge to the Jabber Jaw here. Very helpful video

    • @GetUrFishOn
      @GetUrFishOn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think anyone is sleeping on the JJ. In my opinion the JJ is a slightly better lure because of it's shape and diving depth. I know at one time, both companies couldn't keep up with their inventory compared to how many people wanted the baits. They come from China and they are all still having issues. Cheers Matt.

      @@GetUrFishOn well why I say that if you go on TW the axis is back ordered, just about everywhere is sold out you can't find it unless you want to pay more for it on let's say Amazon or eBay. You go to the jabberjaws page no back orders on any of the colors. I think I like the jabberjaws better myself, but that's my opinion I haven't been able to get my hands on the axis so only going off videos online. • @GetUrFishOn
      @GetUrFishOn  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I had to use or buy one of these two, as much as some people will not like my answer, it would be the Jabber Jaw ONLY because of it's size. I have used both fishing a lot, and I've caught more bass on the Jabber and I believe it is because its the same size as the bait the fish are chasing. The Jabber Jaw has a better, tighter wobble that is more like a regular squarebill, and I have confidence in that kind of fishing. Sometimes it's tough to give a review and then my opinion in these videos, and I like to see what everyone else thinks and says. Cheers Billy, hope ya sub'd!!!

    Jabberjaw. I primarily am a ChatterBait fisherman that is what I have done for years and has caught me a lot of fish and I have won a lot of money doing so. That being said the Jabberjaw has the correct sound of a ChatterBait that really draws fish in. And I can fish it through wood and Rocky bottom to give a ChatterBait sound in areas I would typically not throw a Chatterbait

  • @bhebert62482

    The Jabberjaw is a better lure. The snaps on the Axis have been snapping since release. This is part of the reason you can’t find the Axis anywhere yet you can walk into Academy and buy all the Jabberjaws you want and you should it’s a better design and the quality is much better with the jabberjaw. 6th Sense makes great lures but the Axis is a miss and 13 Fishing made a better lure.

      I know one thing, 13 needs to fix their clip.....it gets wedged in the bill, you gotta bend the lil piece. No issues like that with axis.......seems like the jabberjaw was possibly rushed out a lil bit.....you can tell by the axis being a lil more polished, and has a truly unique action. The jabber seems like they just took their squarebill stuck a metal bill in it, and made it slightly move. Honestly, i have regular squarebills that have better action. The axis has a whole lure designed around the axis bill with the flat sides, size, etc. Just my 2cents after finally trying the axis.

    Steve, just found your channel and sub’d. Did want to comment on this though, I think you missed the mark. Not throwing shade, these two plugs are two diff animals. I’m a Texas guy and had the Axis a while before it hit most everywhere else. Its made to fish slow and grind bottom. I applaud and love the bait pool views, but you didn’t give it a chance to show off. It looks squirly just swam through the water column and not intended to sound like a chatterbait at all. Crank it on gravel or rock bottom and watch it hit a 70 degree angle (off Axis) and then find center again. I think both are great, used for diff applications. Looking forward to checking out the channel!

      I agree. With higher pressure lakes, the sound has a lot to do with your success.. I LOVE THE JACK HAMMER, however sometimes I feel like it doesn't work as well in high pressured ponds, so that Stealth Blade is AMAZING!!! This is kinda how I feel about these two baits. I think they both have a spot in my tacklebox.... which one will go on my rod......right now the JJ is on ole trusty.

  • @TKsw191145
    @TKsw191145 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Their action seems to be so different to even compare. You add in the rattle component with the axis and they are very different baits. Seems like the jabber jaw swims deeper, with less noise, and a tighter action. I would think this would work better for most situations, but if the fish are super aggressive it will be hard to beat that crazy violent erratic action of the axis. I see these baits being fished in different conditions, fish will dictate.

    • @GetUrFishOn
      @GetUrFishOn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So the thing I've noticed most about these is the size and that's the biggest thing for me. Both catch fish, but the JJ is slightly smaller and my baitfish are in the same profile, so that bait gets more action. Both are great, and still hard to get I've been told which is crazy. I like the comparison, however I didn’t hear you mention what really separates the Jabber Jaw and the Axis. The metal cheeks that 13 Fishing has put in the Jabber Jaw. This really is the difference to me. They took the concept that was established by the creator of the (bladed square bill for lack of a better term) in 1994 (original patent) and added to it.

    • @GetUrFishOn
      @GetUrFishOn  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the differences were in the way the bait hunts. Both are using the sqaurebill technology, one had their lure out before the other, and the sound. Both are trying for a new patent too. Cheers and thanks PHF!

    I thought these were going to be nearly identical baits and in some ways they are but I have to say after seeing them underwater and hearing them I am not so sure. Sure they have similar styles but I can see both having a place. Sometimes fish want quieter less erratic movement and there the JJ will shine IMO. If you have to really standout in the motion/noise department then Axis is your lure. To be honest my heart wanted the JJ to "win" over the Axis but after seeing them in the water I have to buy both now because their applications seem different. Sigh...thx Steve. In my wallet again. 6th sense mistakenly let the axis pics and videos get out sooner than they wanted relative to the actual release date. So I'm sure 13 just threw whatever they already had together in a similar fashion instead of re engineering like 6th sense did. But thats the name of the game, now days....

      I don't know if 6th Sense copies everyone's stuff, I have not seen that yet, but in the case of these two lures, 6th Sense released their lure a LOT earlier than13 Fishing. The Axis was kinda teased about 18 months ago or longer. Ive seen numerous videos on other people copying 6th Sense including the Googan baits, in depth. I like the 6th sense stuff. They were the first to start developing a bait like this and like all their crankbaits people copy them because of how good they are. To me it looks like 13 fishing heard what was going to be released and made their own version and it was probably rushed and not as much time put into making it perfect. I have 2 large tackle trays full of 6th sense crankbaits for a reason, they put a ton of fish in my boat plus they have great customer service. Ive had an issue with a product being damaged and they went out of their wqay to make it right. Maybe Im Bias but to me me 6th sense is innovating and the rest are just following

      @@GetUrFishOn Yes there are differences just like any lure, a KVD squarebill has a different action than a bandit but they are both square bills. Whats odd to me is 2 baits, both using a metal bill and a bill that swings coming out right around the same time. I highly doubt that both companies came up with the same idea at the same time. What I do know is 6th sense didnt make this a secret, they let everyone know what they are working on and advertised it long before it was ever released. But the lure game has always been cut throat. Totally incorrect. Original patent was in 1994, 13 had been working on this bait with the original patent designer for years. You can't just make a bait in a few months, it takes a lot of trail and error to get the product right. The fishing industry is a copy cat business and to say 6th sense is innovative and everyone else is copying is also incorrect, as they have also copy catted many lures from others as well, just like this bait here.
