Great videos Mike. Thank you for sharing. I know what a pain in the ass it can be fighting with horses and mules on the trail and on top of that trying to document it all on video for all of us to enjoy. I know it's a quite a job carrying a camera and trying to protect it from the rain and falling on the rocks. Now I have something to enjoy in the winter time when the mountain trails are covered in three feet of snow and ice and the horses are getting soft again after hunting season is over. Thanks again.
Charlie, none of my mules require shoeing. Back when I rode shod horses I always packed tools so I could handle anything that came up. An extra set of used shoes were marked and packed for each shod animal so you didn’t have to do any shaping.
Mike looks like you guys are having a great time. I belong to a group called Royal Rangers, FCF (Frontier Camping Fellowship ). It's a black powder group 1840's. My Sons, Grandsons and I love it. Looks like you take it easy and enjoy good scenery, good camps and good friends. I'd love to make a ride in some time. Take care. Wyoming
You need to have one of the younger men learn to reset a shoe. I always pack a few shoeing tools with me and when you see or hear a loose shoe just reclinch or replace a nail or two...
From watching just a few of your video's tonight/early morning, it seems you have to spend a lot of time waiting on other, less experienced or not as organized as you ? Really enjoy your videos and wish the they were long enough to listen to some of the conversations. Keep riding and be safe.
@@rolandjones5832 As far as I know there are no members in the UK but the closest would be the Scandinavian Mt. Men which is a party of the AMM. www.scandinavianmountainmen.se/
What do you guys do with the horses at night? Hobbles? I just got my first horse and am eager to do a trip like this and thats one of the big things I'm trying to figure out now, so any advice would be greatly appreciated! Great video

How do you not know how to slap a shoe on?
Hopefully before they lose one.
Can you join the AMM If you got no horse? Like canoe trappers
Yes, there are lots of members w/o stock.
But, where are your bathrooms and showers and cellphones and stuff?
Can anyone imagine doing this 7 days 7 nights a week with today's clothing maybe possible (experts only) no horses pack mule only
