  • Since the last video, Ben Harris & Co have been continuing to work on a 34-foot gaff cutter yacht (new-build) called CONSTANCE. Ben's excited for 2022 and CONSTANCE's completion. They've moved into the shed next door, giving the team more room for various ongoing projects. See Ben's other traditional boat builds - PANACEA, ALVA, both next to CONSTANCE now under one roof.
Emily Harris watches progress on CONSTANCE, with electronics being fitted, her interior being finished by Pete and James. Sails are on their way from Ratsey and Lapthorn in time for her anticipated launch in April, Ben also goes through this new build's general arrangement.
    - Watch Ben make up oak frames for a house project
    - Josh shapes up a mast - Ben talks about spar making
    - Ben Harris & Co have a new resident in the shed!
    - James repairs the stem of a small 1960s wooden motorboat
Ben Harris & Co Wooden Boats use traditional boatbuilding techniques to build (new) sailing yachts and traditional boats, restore motor and sailing yachts including building/restoring smaller craft - dingies and yacht tenders - as well as making masts and spars in their workshops.

Beautiful! The pace of the video reflects the calmness that Ben always radiates when he talks. A welcome change amidst all the fast paced and hectic stream of information that is thrown at us from all over. Lovely work Emily ! Ah, and of course the boats are beautiful too! ;-)

Constance is georgeous. She reminds me of a scaled-down pilot cutter.

I have built but a small sailing pram but I will gladly agree about the pleasure of making spars.

Just discovered your channel with the launch of Constance. The quality of the video reflects the craftsmanship of all your (team’s) work. I’ve dreamt of one of your boats here in New Zealand… one day🤞
