i think the reason valkyrie worked so well is because the specific fact that it was up against an opposite spin attack type. the variable driver's main downside (impossible to control) was basically negated because they were always on a collision course
Yep it definitely was because of that. We have seen a battle where astral spriggan kept winning against ultimate valkyrie when spriggan was in right spin then when it switched modes ultimate valkyrie made so much comebacks

Longinus is at a disadvantage. It needs time to gather that momentum, it already got that super attack power, but Valkyrie always had this trait of not letting it's opponent regain its balance, it's been doing this trick since it's 1st gen, till now. Only if longinus had proper grip with the stadium floor, it would have smashed directly on that fusion layer. But Alas! You can't have everything, Valkyrie makes up for its weight by being so much aggressive against longinus

It's been a while! As soon as I saw this battle pop up, I knew I had to come back to watch. My money was on Valkyrie, because every video I'd seen beforehand of these two going at it like they've never gone at it before have all shown that it had finally gained the upper hand on Longinus. This is why we NEED a Beyblade Burst movie to end off the series: imagine Valt finally becomes strong enough to beat Lui, and he never does because the show ended before they could battle? 😂Also love the new outro! 👍

I think that Valt is stronger than Lui in most stadiums because he can get more hits in the smaller stadiums, like the Pro Series Stadium or the Standard Stadium for example. But, if it's the DB Stadium than no; personally I think Valt is stronger overall. they're both really good beys though and I have both of them for that specific reason.
Well just today me and my gf went Guilty Longinus vs Ultimate Valkyrie in hasbro pro series stadium and it went kinda the same.. she bursted my Longinus like 3-4 times and the amaunt of power between thoose 2 is insane. The thing with Valkyrie's driver is that since it's made of rubber, it has a way better grip with the stadium than say destroy. That's why in spite of being almost 10 grams heavier than Valkyrie, Longinus' hard hits didn't really throw Valkyrie into oblivion thanks to it's driver and instead Longinus got thrown back each time.
Guilty's shock combo isn't great against fast attackers. Just slap jolt' or extreme' will solve the issue real quick and Valkyrie be flying. Destroy is just too passive compare to variable.
