@@BrickMantooth yes indeed. As a first, I ment the first time I've seen one forsale. They are SUPER rare. Thanks for taking the time to shoot the vid. Mark has always had some of the nicest stuff.
What appeared to be robocop bodies with jet Jaguar ' Terminator heads was behind a vinyl space ghost was possibly the most intriguing item at that show 😂❤
Thank you for that look at SDCC Brian and glad you came back feeling positive! I wondered what kind of vintage merchandise might be there since it seems to be mostly about major toy, film and print media. You gave us a nice view of what the many other youtubers basically gloss over since...look...shiny and bright thing over there! 🙂
2:55 The "Imperial Toy alien" is from the movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind". I still have my alien! I didn't keep the packaging, but that's ok.
Great video. Love seeing the other side of SDCC. I never knew anything vintage would be available there. All other videos focus on new stuff which is fine but I have a soft spot for the vintage. It’s so hard to resist. Please keep these videos coming!!😅
My grail is the Mego Speedy on card with the full array of accessories. There is a version that includes more pieces than Mego did for any other figure.
Alot of cool toys but I'd definitely would pay for the Micronauts vehicles and the 1978 Mattel catalog, just to relive great childhood memories. Great video. Thanks for the awesome content. Continued success. 👍
Fun video! I love the "purchases" and "regrets" section. You will be hearing that in person at MegoMeet!!!! Warminster, yo. If you stay in Philly aka Center City lmk.
Great video friend love everything but my 3 favorite were the universal monsters mego castle excellent for my mego monsters collection and the batmobile and the speed boat of cap and spidi
okay, i am SO glad i went back and watched the rewind! Sorry i didn't join earlier, i assumed this would roll at night. I was making a LIVE video of Ghostbusters toys I got recently on eBay that are repros of the 1986 line (except AFTER the video i discovered the car is NOT a repro like i thought it was...but close enough)
Congrats Brian! So glad you had a Fab time esp after a rough start. Mark has quite the collection. Its great to see folks doing what they love. This vid brought back a lot of long forgotten memories… so Thank you.🙏 P.S. That boat is stellar & I’m right with you re the vending machine treasure. Peace to you & yours.
random thoughts: McDonald's action figures: had those as a kid and loved them. Those price tags remind me why I never got back into action figure collecting. Gonna stick with comic books. Loved Sesame street and muppets toys as a kid. Seeing those guys with legs always blew my young mind. Fisher price castle! One of my favorite toys as a kid and always happy to see it in the wild. Captain Ray and the Abominable Snowman: Sounds like a Hanna-Barbera cartoon. Might actually break my no action figure rule and keep an eye out for those two at the next con I go to.
I just learned the name CHEMTOYS in the last few weeks because i got the 12" John Travolta CHEMTOYS doll...not the 9" Mattel Welcome Back Kotter version.
It took me a long time to find your table, and when I did i... chickened out 🐔. I guess I'm not as social as i thought, it was like seeing Gabe Kaplan in person - I guess I froze. I walked by you so many times - i was the guy dressed like a crazed yacht rock captain. Anyways glad you had a great time, so did I! Maybe next year (i hope you go again)! Also I bought a fisher price xray woman 😊 💀
It's a bummer how expensive everything is. I love toys from the 70s, when I was a kid, but I would not buy them at Comic Cons because of the prices. Ah well, window shopping doesn't cost a thing. 🙂
It's a shame you don't collect any modern stuff, Brian. There's some REALLY cool stuff being made by all sorts of companies. NECA in particular makes some amazing things (just got the Creature From the Black Lagoon from them and he's incredible). Maybe not as much clunk as you like in your toys, but different enough to be collecting, I'd say. I'm absolutely all in on their new ultimate Pee-Wee, and the NECA Elvira occupies a place of honor on my shelf. The new Super Powers line has been extremely fun to collect, too. While I'll always love vintage stuff (always), modern lines are pretty awesome, too.
I do own some of that stuff and it's glorious. I guess it should have come out that I didn't want to talk about new toy reveals. Other people do it better and my heart belongs to old cardboard and plastic.
@@BrickMantooth I getcha there. Most toy channels focus either on new things or repairs. It is nice to be able to just travel back in time a bit with you now and again.
@@BrickMantooth Thanks, Brick Man. I haven’t been to SDCC in many years, but I do remember the very high prices. WonderCon had much better deals, at least years ago. I really enjoyed this video and the way it totally took the viewer into the convention space. Thanks!
That is just absolutely bananas. I'm kind of glad that I stopped collecting toys because the FOMO is ridiculous. That said I have FOMO now of missing interesting editions of movies, so there's that.
Great video. I really enjoyed it and lived vicariously through your presentation. I have one question though, and it's kind of cheeky. Is the smell of b.o. a real thing or is it the thing of legend, stereotypes and/or comedy? I take your comment to heart about talking toys and not people.
Oh, I did encounter it; there is always that one smelly guy at one of these, but it was not the norm; it actually was quite pleasant despite being crowded.
Hi All, I'm a Spider-man collector. I've got a lot from the 90's up with some older items. It's time to sell but I don't know who to contact or how's the best way to sell these. If anyone could help with any information, I'd appreciate it. Really enjoyed the video. SDCC has always been my dream trip. Thanks
Yeah, don't get me wrong, these big expos have such high rents, there are no deals. You're much better off at a toy show locally. However, it is really like an awesome toy museum!
Neat seeing someone just go through the regular booths and not just focus on the big companies and their announcements
I felt like that all got covered in a big way, so I went the other way.
Those factory shrink wrapped Micronauts. That's a first for me and I'm a huge Micronaut guy.
Yeah, I really haven't seen many but I know for a fact that they're legit.

Thank you for agreeing with that silly purchase.

It's just such a joy to watch a video like this. And I don't even feel envious, because there is no way I'd ever be able to afford these items!
Great video and glad to hear that it was a positive experience for you in the end! 👍🏼

😮 cool stuff to see at sdcc. Looked like good times 😁.

I've always wanted to go to SDCC but at this point it's not feasible. Thanks for this coverage of something I'm not likely to ever see in real life
i wish i still had all those vending machine Football helmets and beer cans (for Barbie).
Montage time!
Wish I was there
That Tomland Dracula on the card is such things as dreams are made of…

Yeah there are no good deals when it costs so much to vend at one of these things.
Thanks for the video. Question how much was that Gulliver Hulk?
And who can I contact to purchase?
I believe that's in Heroes West Coasts booth, reach out via ebay.
Would you please tell me who makes those 2 Robotech battroids in the very beginning of this video?
