Builds like this are typical for show cars. Friend of my brothers bought an ex-showcar that won lots of awards till it was retired and used as a road car for 4 years before the friend swapped it and paid cash on his car. He intended to fix it up again but doing the bodywork discovered the huge amount of body filler in it and dodgy work. He ended up just trying to fix it so it could be drivable. The engine didn't even run right because they took the goodies off it, but he got that all put back on. The body was the biggest problem as it really needed a new factory shell.
before realizing who actually "stole" it, I was thinking why in the hell would some thieves take a showroom/mall crawling "stolen" truck to a well known off road spot? i kind of thought maybe someone really just hated that truck, so they rolled it of the side of the mountain. and i guess that was still pretty true. just wasnt thieves..

uh you must not pay much attention. There are lots of them. I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado with them. I drive a 2022 Tacoma for work that has them. Just a quick search and you'll see most trucks have had it as an option at some point fairly recently. Tacoma, Titan, Ranger, F150s, F250s, Ram....and plenty more.
Literally every extended cab since the 60s has used it. Chevy, Toyota and Dodge only just recently stopped using them and Ford still sticks to em. How the hell have you not seen a suicide door on a truck????
Just to let you know they make 32 inch wheels and most end up on Monte Carlo's or some weird Lexus x-overs, but thats all I have seen on cars so far. But they make them up to 34 inch wheels
For those who may not know, @ 6:56, you see Bruce Willis and Cybil Shepherd of the Blue Moon Detective Agency (better known by the TV title of Moonlighting). I loved thos show, and one episode that stuck in my grey matter was the one with the camera crew becoming part of the show rather than filming it. Oh and Bruce still had hair lol

1:30 Sorta was his fault. Is standard for any custom build the issues they experienced and not giving enough time and trying to re-engineer precise suspension systems. I mean, supplier issues are a legitimate thing, but the stuff said in that post shared sound ultimately like builder issues.
I dont know much aboot parts for 4th gens but you need a lower t case you shouldn't change the pinion angle (witch doesn't sound easy on a front axle) I've known people who have done that on rears and it always results in the u joints going out pretty quickly. Like i said i dont really know anything aboot 4th gen parts but in the jeep world at least theres t cases you can get that you can clock wherever you need it to be. My only other thought on that would be to run a 2wd tranny with a divorced t case like they did back in the day. I dont know why nobody ever considers functionality when building these but yeah you cant just do the seemingly obvious thing and tilt the axle because u joints must run at equal opposite angles to each other. My point is the pinion angle is fine the t case is either too close or too high for how high its been lifted.

In the pictures of the crash the truck wasn't even painted just wrapped that just makes the truck more of a hack.
The “thief” took the aftermarket gold hood and put the stocker back on so it’s paint but I agree about wraps lol

I saw 32s at sema last year and to be honest they are just too big. If you check again you’ll see I wrote a caption saying “at the time this was true”
