Beautiful race to watch!! It is early in the season, faster times will arrive when the weather warms... The important thing is running smoothly and within limits, no reason to stretch the envelope yet.... Katelyn has the base training, an epic base, as she focuses on speed she will run with more bounce.... A solid 2025 is in the making, yahoo!!...
My goodness, it is great to see Katelyn back at it and running well, although her time was nothing to write home about. Hopefully she stays healthy because if she does, she will become a world recognized threat to win races at any level.
Former Section 1(NY) High School Phenom. Great to see her show progress as a Pro after an illustrious college career. Does anyone know whether she is running Millrose and if so, what event. Thanks.
didnt even get mentioned in the news in Australia...thats how little we focus on T&F... we no doubt have several athletes that can do this, but they are playing AFL.
@@timn4481 it doesn’t get mentioned in the news in the US here either. I imagine a pretty small % of American know any track athletes other than Sydney McLaughlin, Noah Lyles and Shacarri Richardson and I bet half hasn’t even heard of those 3
Nice race but I would have liked to see the finish of positions 3 thru 6 because it looks like there was a lot of excitement there. Winning the race is maybe the objective, but there is often a lot of drama occurring back in the pack.
Katelyn is obviously amazing at running, but already at 2nd curve (at 3:27 in the video) she should be DQ:ed for running on the yellow line multiple times. So does the other Adidas athlete in 5th there do, even more so by crossing it.
While it was not her fastest time, it’s still important to remember that she may still have that injury lingering. I am also a runner, and it can take a long time for a runner to finally feel at their best. But I mean 4:25for a mile is still very impressive!!
I like it. As a true believer who has followed Katelyn since she was a high schooler, all through her epic prep career, and then her collegiate brilliance, I have suffered severe KT withdrawal syndrome since she more or less went into mini-retirement for a year. The Trials were what they were. The Sunset was first class: 15:07. But this one, coming at the top of the 2025 season is even better. Although a second slower than her collegiate record, which might hold up, but which likewise Wilma could beat next week, I think Katelyn in showing us she is on a slow and steady trek, probably aiming for the '28 Olympics. Right now KT owns the NCAA indoor 1500 (in transit to the mile record), the mile and the indoor 3000, which I think is her collegiate record that will endure. So, it's nice to reflect upon, but let's look to the future. Like in two weeks. Is Tuohy running Millrose? Well, she has been on that track since she was in something like seventh grade, and she calls it home, and Ray Flynn is her agent. Yes, I think she will be there. I would love to see her run the 3000. If all the training with Elly and Hannah in Flag has a payoff, it could be the 3000,, set by Alicia, 8:25, ten seconds faster than KT's collegiate mark. Notice that she is something like 9 seconds behind the national mile record, and ten to the 3000 record. I can't imagine how she can't be obsessed with the two national standards, plus the 1500. I'm excited. I love watching Katelyn Tuohy. The race today really brightened my life. Also the VT Hokie invite where the Wolfpack scored 1-2-3 in the mile, Hannah Gapes, Brooke Rauber (yay Brookie!!) and Kate Putman. Go Wolfies!!!
Good quality video. Nice to see Tuohy do well.
Good to see Sam did well too
Agreed. This video turned my 1080p monitor into 8k.
See touhy go against parker valvy
Way to go KT. See you getting back to form. Congrats.
good to see KT back and injury free!!!
Always a great performer well done KT.
Great to see 3 NC state teammates racing together for their season opener
Way to go KT!! Woohoo!
Awesome job!

My hero since high school, awesomeness 😊
Heroine? 😊
Dass an opiates 😮
4:25! She is back!
Indeed GREAT to see. That was a great time!
Great race Katelyn
Missed seeing Katelyn race, and glad to see her on the podium again.
So happy to so KT at the arena again!
a valiant effort by green to hang on, but Katelyn was in full control from the start. former collegiate teammate bush a surprise 3rd.
Great race. KT getting back to action
Great run by Wilma Nielsen from Sweden!
Love seeing KT back!! She looked a little stiff which is understandable being her first race back!! I hope she crushes!
Thanks for posting!
Good race! Amazing athletes
Great race from Katelyn but that young lady from Oregon gave her all she wanted and then some. Keep your eye on Neilsen!
What a badass…luv her
Fun watching a gifted quality athlete .... perfect form

Super 1st Race Indoors KT!!!! Go Sam Bush and Elle too for not being a miler!
I love watching Touhy. She is so classy. To point out Elly moving back and team, and her brother…she never makes about just about herself!
Great run by KT and Neilsen, gee she's got some talent too!
Great race. Never seen her lose a race. She’s one tough runner.
Tuohy is back!!!
Katelyn (Running with the night) Tuohy! GO!
Not too shabby. Like the competition.
Woohoo nice job Kate!

I ran a mile in 4:25 also back in the day. Only took me 3 laps.
She'll get stronger. She's just getting back. Fun race.
Fastest time in the world this year, so far!
~nice~ Looked like a breeze, funn.
Tuohy is BACK. Wow!
Very rare to see KT grimacing like that with one lap to go to the finish line
Gering is stunning
@@jeepwild5772 her running is pretty good too
Hawk Tuohy!
I thought the lady from Oregon was going to pass Touhy
Too much side-to-side movement. Wasted effort. Watch KT form. Her shoulders are stationary. They don't move side-to-side like the Oregon runner.
@@davidballard2424 Thanks coach.
Tuohy..... still the wolf queen to me
Wilma will get her next time, what a lovely smooth running style
How come the two leading gals quit??? Are they pacers???
yes

The girl at 8:16 😂
Fantastic quality of filming!! Is this 5K?
No this is a mile

True, it'd be nice to have a secondary camera for replays of that action.
I would be bent over in pain throwing up after that. These women barely broke a sweat
is Tuohy back?
Where can we see her brother's race?
He came in 8th. 6-7 seconds back. th-cam.com/video/wibINyQToHg/w-d-xo.html
@@ffox9556 THANKS!!
I remember her from NCAA meets about 10 years ago

Kt or Valby?? I still think Kt will out do her.
Кетлин еще бегает, давно не видел её?
She was injured
Elise Cranny just ran a 4:20 mile.
Yes, she did!
Wow. At 3:27 Tuohy should have been disqualified for three consecutive steps on the curb line.
8:43 lmao
Did they have enough women starting???!!!
Cool to see Tuohy again after Olympia i havent heard anything about her. Some news said that she will become a coach/trainer for runners is that true?
No, she is still a pro runner, just getting started.
Gering is gorgeous, even if she did drop out halfway through...
👍🦵
Worse, worse, worse presentation of a race without any announcers. LOUSY period.
No announcers is better than bad announcers
Glad she won but the time is below par for where she needs to be IMOO

Tuohy. Still. Lacking. Gears.
Isn't she more of a 5k rather than a middle distance runner?
And you're lacking sensibility pal Andrew.
@@kryst5062 time will tell, she's still young for a distance runner. Oh, and take no notice of Andrew. He's just a troll.
Valby. Is. The. One. To. Watch. Seen. Her. In. Training. Muscle. Development. Looking. Promising
4:25 and "lacking gears." LOL....idiot!

She is running 3000 at Millrose, Feb 9. Henes, too.
@@John-kl1os You know I think her 8:35 collegiate record is the one that will endure. I think as she matures the 3000 will become her distance.
