Nice tour. We're booked in the (identical?) R731 aboard the Discovery Princess embarking Seattle for Alaska on May 14. As usual, we'll have one rental mobility scooter which looks like a tight squeeze in this room's entrance/hall.

But no flo-rider, rock wall, ropes course... what do you do on a ship like this other than eat and drink while lounging around the pool all day and seeing a show at night? Just asking to see if I am missing something or if NCL and Royal Caribbean are the lines for me...
You're right! Princess definitely seems to be more geared towards less-active cruisers. They have lots of activities during the day like trivia, scavenger hunts, cornhole, live music, etc. but no snazzy flo-riders or rock walls!
Some people use the ships as transportation to the islands. Fall a few times on the florider and the novelty is over. I believe there is a 250lb weight limit on the rock wall, not to mention the lines. Plus , lots of people don't want to go on vacation with 1000 children. Been cruising 35 years and still find it interesting that parents use the ship as babysitters and let their children run around unsupervised. Princess is for the middle aged crowd.not to crazy , but not too stuffy. We have been on every kind of ship and Princess is our favorite. Enjoy your travels ,whatever you choose...
May be obvious but is there a charge at the retreat pool?
Hi, Karen! Great question! There is no charge for enjoying the Retreat Pool. However, it is adults-only. The Sanctuary, adjacent to the Retreat Pool does require an extra fee. Thanks for watching!
Very informative thanks. One question - was it sponsored by the cruise line? Most of the shots had no passengers in which makes it look as if it was an 'official' video or you were given special access.

Would have like to have seen a VIDEO of the balcony rooms on Enchanted. We were given a lower grade balcony room when we had to cancel a January 22 cruise due to Covid for our rebooked Jan 23 cruise. Have already been on the Regal twice for an Eastern and Western Caribbean cruise in past years. Nice ship! Otherwise I enjoyed your video lots of good info.

Bars, cafes, gelatos, pizzas, drinks only and expensive restaurants. Where are the whole day open restaurants with see-food, meats, dumplings, Asian meals etc served without a break and free of charge?
Hello! Deck 16 is where you'll find many of the complimentary restaurants including the World Fresh Marketplace (buffet), Slice Pizzeria, and Salty Dog Grill. You can see these spaces at the 10:40 mark in the video. We hope that helps! Thanks for watching :)
@@watchuswander I watched the video again and I can't see those plasters of salmon, ham, salami, fried or baked chicken, fish and seafood, soups etc, or Asian meals mainly, as BEFORE. Shame.
We understand! We try to film only at slower times in order to not disturb the other passengers. That means we can't always get all the shots we want! But we assure you, there are lots of options :)
These ships stripped away the lower deck outside Promenade decks wrapping around the bow, providing excellent, shaded seating, wildlife viewing, enjoying the approach to land from the prow. This design has vaulted Princess from best in actual sailing experience, to dead last. Holland America lets you out on the bow occasionally.
The older Princess ships with the features I note above remain our favorite. When they are gone we will be too.

@@trainattendant5810 we are scheduled on a TA in March from FLL to Barcelona on this ship---this will be our last Princess Cruise--we are elite 30 some cruises--once they sold my fav Pacific Princess I said changes are coming! I am not interested in Mega Ships, and that is the way of Princess now. Oh, well--it was a good run! lol
@@Goldiehugs Hi Geri - Yes it was a good run back in the day! Pacific/Island Princess were perfect IMHO. I HIGHLY recommend Viking Ocean!! My seventh Viking cruise is in December aboard Viking Neptune also on a trans-Atlantic. Barcelona to Ft. Lauderdale. Hope your cruise coming up is enjoyable & that you find a new line that is a match.
The decor looks beautiful but much of the design leaves something to be desired. The elimination of an upper deck observation lounge & wrap around promenade deck with shaded padded seating is agregious. The giant stadium sized movie screen is tacky. Zero wow factor to main dining rooms & Horizon Court buffet. The cabins around the Retreat pool, thus blocking any ocean view detracts from the experience. In all my cruises I have yet to see the Sanctuary beyond a quarter of capacity in use. Surprised Princess insists on keeping this concept. The aft pool is clearly an afterthought, no pun intended. Looks like they just plopped a giant hot tub back there, not a real pool area like on Crown class. Guess I'll be sticking w/ Viking Ocean.
