It’s a software expansion pack that is offered by Line 6 to give bass players more bass specific effects and modeling to add to the original software. Highly recommended 💯
Cool, but when I set up a similar bass pedal board I noticed that my bass amp output lost A LOT of frequences and just general tone/volume in compare to when I didn't use the pod hd500 at all... I also didn't use any eq though, so is that a solution ? (I just want to use it as a standard pedalboard but when I am not using any effect I want the signal to be just bypassed and not be cut of from wanted frequencies)

Good question. I don't think you would need to use a cab. I would think you could turn the master volume down on the 500x to reduce the output. Also, the 500x has a 'pad' switch that when turned on reduces the input signal going in to the 500x.
