    Thank you! There is precious little Dizi instruction in English and this is very helpful. I wasted a lot of effort trying to blow across and not down. Ignore the negative comments.....this is just what a brand new player needs if they are going to learn on their own.

    You are a genius! I recently decided to learn how to play this beautiful instrument and I noticed immediately how difficult it was to simply make a sound. With your instructions I'm able to consistently make sound. I also learned that the sound mine makes is completely normal.
    I thought I put on the dimo too poorly or I somehow broke the flute or it came broken. I was happy to learn that it is normal. Thank you so much!

Following these steps of yours and mirror imaging what you are doing left handed am finding not a problem and very helpful. Many thanks Paul. :)

    I can make sound straight away as soon as I saw your method of teaching 😘☺️🙏👍 you are good. But the sound I made is not consistent. And my lips slide out of alignment and the tone disappeared and I lost the sound. Even with persistence I can't get the tune to be consistent . Is there a technique to keep your lips in the right position to keep the tune going. 🙏

    • @PaulChin20
      @PaulChin20  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you put your lips covering the blow hole and then rotate the dizi away until the blow hole faces upwards. When you blow, some of the air enters the blow hole whilst some goes across. This splitting of the air produces the sound. With practice, it becomes easier.
