    Hi Amanda, I just wanted to say that I recently found your channel and I think you are one of the best teachers of Cantonese I have ever come across (and I have been learning, or trying to learn, Cantonese for an embarrassing number of years). Your materials are clear, concise, practical and really well produced! I like that you use jyut ping Romanization (makes it easier to cross reference with dictionary apps like Pleco) and pronounce the words very clearly, but in a natural way. Even for words I already know, your videos help me to improve my pronunciation and gain confidence that I am saying things correctly. I hope you will continue to produce more videos, even when you get back to work as a flight attendant!

      Thank you very much for your compliments 😊. I am so glad that you find my channel useful. There's very little books and materials out there. Most of them are very similar. So that I tried to create my own way with my experience on language learning. I am glad that it turns out quite well.☺️

      Agreed. She's great! Having nice simply sentences showing usage really helps to get the vocab and grammar to stick as well.

    I agree with the other commentator. Amanda’s style is great to learn Cantonese. I’m also Chinese descent, but my Cantonese is not that good, I never spoke with my parents in Cantonese. But most of the time I didn’t understand how to tell time or how to use the quantifier. Nobody ever able to explain how they work. Only with Amanda I was able to understand.

      I am so glad to hear that. The concept of quantifier is very difficult even to the local. 💪🏻 Thank you very much for your support 🙏🏻

    The steak was very juicy and the butter was very creamy on the soft bread. How do we say creamy? thanks for the video Amanda!

    • @5minutecantonese
      @5minutecantonese  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it's so funny cause we don't say creamy in cantonese. So, in HK probably you'll hear the young one say. di1 ngau4 jau4 hou2 creamy
      The closer alternative will be "smooth" which in cantonese is 滑 "waat6"
