  • After nearly 4000 miles, we made it to Alaska and have begun our Alaskan National Park Tour. First stop... Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve where we left the truck and all it's comforts behind and backpacked it for a three night tent camping experience. We hiked, kayaked, and took a boat tour too.     Incredible stuff! How do you feel the soft sided pop ups fair in the Alaskan climate? I'm dreaming of getting one for my RAM 2500

      It is going to depend a bunch on when you go. We have insulated a bunch and our heater keeps the topper cozy in quite low temperatures. This said, it's the back-to-back rain that can get tricky if you don't have a place to hide and dry out. It's our understanding that earlier summer is safer for avoiding rain, but comes at the cost of more bugs.
