Yeah absolutely not, Fergie is an experienced and professional singer with decades of experience decided to vomit all over the national Anthem.
This is just some 8 year old girl whose been lied to her whole life about her singing ability.
While technically this was worse, Fergies rendition was way more inexcusable.
I would not put my child through that. So embarrassing 🙈

The only children I enjoy hearing sing are are legitimate professional children's choirs, like usually British ones! Otherwise it is usually just painful.

It will be OK. Maybe they couldn't make rent & letting her sing, made the difference. Who knows? We aren't in her shoes, but my son sings well & although he is learning violin, we are truly honest with him... You can't be good at everything... She needs a teacher. There are different methods of singing. Stage vs classical. She needs breathing technique. My son needs it, too! However, her facial emotions are extreme, but for my son to connect anything to words, at that age, was difficult.

If you want to learn to sing properly we will give you lessons, or if that doesn’t work, we can find some thing else for you, but this isn’t for you. No, it’s not pathetic because one she can’t sing it’s not hateful to point that out and if anything is pathetic it’s the fact that this kid‘s parents have been telling her that she can sing for. God knows how many years and she believes it that’s what’s pathetic.

Shame on you for making fun of, and laughing at an innocent 8yr old girl who has no idea how she sounds! Shame on her parents for allowing her to sing knowing the brutality of social media and the effects this could have on her in a few years, not to mention the backlash she’ll prob receive from her classmates. We did grow up and while doing so we learned that lying to someone and telling them they have talent is wrong. I agree to no name calling and such that is wrong but we shouldn't be obligated to lie to her also.

I was at that Pacers game. It was definitely over the top. I actually felt second-hand embarrassment for her. But I will say that it was a courageous attempt. I feel like with different acoustics and some encouragement to taper down the dramatic runs, she might have some potential in there... somewhere. Obviously, she must have some talent, or they wouldn't be parading her all over the nation to sing the anthem. Someone is coaching her to be theatrical, and they aren't doing her any favors by doing so. All of the roars and pitch changes throughout are what makes it so bad. She needs to learn to control her voice before attempting all of that craziness. I will say that I ran into her and her Dad in the concourse area, and I found myself telling her, "great job, young lady!" I'm sure I'm not the only one who did this, as you almost feel obligated to say something to her about her courageous performance. I mean, what else are you gonna say to a little girl? "You suck, way too pitchy and animated, quit embarrassing yourself?" Perhaps I shouldn't have said anything at all. Either way, she needs some serious voice lessons if she is going to continue doing this.
