    Thank you for this tutorial. I've downloaded nearly all of George Gordon's; The Law Hour. These lectures were recorded 22 years ago and their gain was all over the place. One might be way too loud, while others would be very low. Using your guide has allowed me go through all of them, making them equal volume level. I'd never messed with MP3 files to correct levels before. I had a feeling it could be done somehow. Checking YT for answers I saw this video. You made my day, sir. Again, thank you for taking the time to make it.

    Hi Dennis, Great tutorial! I've been on the hunt for a program that does this, Thanks to your video and nice and easy narration, I've finally found what I was looking for along with a quick tutorial. Thanks very much. No, you don't have to click on analyze first, you can just go ahead and click on gain. If you are curious to see what changes would be made to each individual file first, then you could first click on analyze. Thanks for watching.

    Hi great explanation & video, My question is once I Normalize my Music Files on my PC as you described/showed & I then download it to my MP3 player, will the music files on the MP3 player be close to the same volume? second question is can I use the MP3gain on the files on the MP3 player or do I need to do it on my PC & the redownload them to the MP3 player if that makes sense, you seem to have the experience & knowledge Thanks Dan

    • @dennisray3235
      @dennisray3235  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This will only work to have the same volume on your MP3 Player if it has settings on it to make it recognize replaygain that is added by wxMP3gain. You would use wxMP3gain first on your music files on your PC then download them to you MP3 player. MP3gain apps will only work on your PC and probably not on your MP3 player. I believe that most MP3 players may have a setting to make them play your files at the same volume without the need for replaygain, however I could be wrong. Check the settings in your MP3 player that may be in having all your music files the same volume. Hopefully this all is of some help.

    Thanks for the information. This question is probably redundant. If I play the files somewhere else, do they keep the levels?

    • @dennisray3235
      @dennisray3235  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, replay gain is assigned to the file, which stays with the file; however, the player that's used needs to be a music player that recognizes replay gain. Most players do, but the settings may need to be set to play with replay gain. Hope this answers your question. Thank you for watching. If you have not subscribed, please consider subscribing.

    Been looking for a while for a tool to 'normalise' the volume on my many tracks accrued over 30-40 years; Look forward to trying this out. BTW, is there a list of media players it works with?

    • @dennisray3235
      @dennisray3235  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I could not find an actual list, but most modern players will work with replaygain. Foobar2000 is the player I use and it has settings to use replaygain, so does Winamp.

      @@dennisray3235 Thanks Dennis, Is there a user manual or guide available? I have forgotten one of the definitions you mentioned (clipping). Further, once files in folder have been normalised...are they changed for good, or relocated, or need to be separately imported into foobar2000? Yes, I DO need a user guide.

    Original posting here.... th-cam.com/video/HjxiMbFtNAw/w-d-xo.html

    7/15/2023: WARNING TO ANYONE BUYING THIS MP4 GAIN NORMALIZATION SOFTWARE, THE COMPANY "DOES NOT" ANSWER ANY SUPPORT QUESTIONS.

    This is now my 5th attempt to post this message because they keep deleting it shortly after I post it (I will keep re-posting this until my support requests have been addressed). And apparently they are trying to block me from this channel because my re-posts do not show up visible on the channel to anyone but me.;

    I've been trying get support help for weeks without anyone acknowledging an email, and this not the first time. Had an issue back in 2018 regarding a license key that took them forever to send me after initially paying for the software. Now in 2023 the same zero responsiveness is happening again after the software recently started giving a “Trial period expired, please register” error for a paid copy of MP4Gain, and the previous license key no longer works.

    They have a help email address from the tool itself that points to an invalid support email address: bugreport@mp4gain.com
    The only time they ever got back to me back in 2018 was with this email address: "sales@mp3doctor-pro.com" (but one one is answering from this email address anymore now).
    Other email addresses that are not answering are: support@mp3doctor.com; sales@mp4gain.com

    This has been a frustrating experience and I hope this gets someone's attention at this damn company that has no sense of supporting customers after the software has been paid for.
    It's also interesting there's been zero comments on this post until my attempt now, but who knows whether they delete negative response messages to give the impression that there are no complaints about their software/company.

    BUYER BEWARE!!!!

    • @dennisray3235
      @dennisray3235  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you watch the video you will see that the program is freeware. You don't purchase it and there is no support involved. I believe the person that posted this comment is talking about a completely different program that is software you pay for Mp3doctor. This video is not about Mp3doctor.

      @@dennisray3235 Sorry to bother you, I believe you are correct that this is MP3Gain from SourceForge. The culprits I'm chasing are the makers of MP4Gain, but they say how their software works on MP3 files too, and therefore make references to "MP3Gain" in their ads. It would be fine if you delete this entire message thread since I've referenced a different software.

    After I drag and drop or copy the music folder (with my songs) from my desktop into the wxMP3gain player and make the changes to normalize the volume in the songs, do I have to create a new music folder with the changes for my desktop or will the changes have occurred in the same music folder currently sitting on my desktop?

    is there an mp3gain software that uses all cores? This uses 1 core only or 25% cpu if you have 4 core cpu like I do. as a result it takes a veryyyyy long time to process all your mp3s. Currently i'm normalizing 13k mp3s and 1 full day has passed and I haven't hit the half mark. I think this will take 2-3 days. such a long time to wait.

    • @dennisray3235
      @dennisray3235  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, you are doing that many at once? I would recommend doing only some of them at a time. However to answer your question, unfortunately, no I don't know of any other mp3gain software that will work faster or better by using more core cpu. Good luck with your project and yes, I would only do some at a time and space it out.
