      Smart Easy Repair how do you remove adhesive? I have an s8 plus and I need to replace the adhesive cause right now I'm using the old adhesive but the back isn't on securely because it's been taken apart before so I need to take it off and replace it.

      Well thank you for the encouraging comment! I really appreciate the feedback. I haven’t made phone repair videos in a little while cuz I was building a house and that used all my spare time and I don’t really have an office yet but I plan to again in the near future. Fixing your own stuff is the way to go I think. 😊 Thanks again.

    I remember when removing the battery was as simple as popping off the back cover. I don't like how complicated they made it. Is it so it can stay water proof?

    • @SmartEasyDIYer
      @SmartEasyDIYer  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Nomercy4UXD That's probably part of it but Samsung's been going away from that for a while already before they started waterproofing.

    • @tiloalo
      @tiloalo 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nomercy4UXD the s6 is not waterproof ^^
      I guess is also to make a thinner design. The clip needed to old the cover and the battery take some place compare to a simple adhesive.

      Neah, it's all about getting new phones every year! If your battery dies, instead of bying a new cheap battery, they want you to buy a new, more expensive phone.

    • @deusvlad2.083
      @deusvlad2.083 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@brav0wing yeah all businesses that do that are scammers its why I like the Xbox360 Xbox one and series X controllers what isn't broke doesn't need fixing you can replace the battery as easy as pop open and close, while on playstation you have to buy a new controller or go annoying and unscrew stuff.

    Thank you! Exactly what I needed to replace s6 battery. Super clear instructions. I ended having to use the screwdriver to pry up the edge of the back panel, which caused a tiny bit of damage, but I care less about aesthetics than a good battery at this point. Overall took me about 1.5 hrs. Thank you again for the great instructions!

    Great video. I've replaced my share of screens and batteries but they all seem to have their "gotchas" where you end up spending more $$ or time to fix something you screwed up repairing what you originally set out to do. I bought one of these from a coworker for $10 that needs a battery. If I only end up making something useful with it then it was worth the $$. Your video makes it very clear what to avoid and such to replace the battery. Thank you for that and thanks for taking your time to make this!

    At first I was going to give up as I couldn't get the back off but the suction cup idea made a big difference.
    I could only see 11 screws as the other 2 were covered with glue lucky I didnt force it.
    I managed to do the job without totally removing the logic board. I left connected the antenna wires because it didnt seem necessary to remove them.
    If you remake the video perhaps some close ups of all the connections. They are hard to see even with a magnifying glass.
    Good video even so.

    thank you for the great guide to give some life back to my aging S6 edge. besides a few mistakes that are all mine, such as trying to plug in the antennae in a place that isn't even the plug(small for my eyes...), and the battery plug from the aftermarket company being difficult to plug in as it wasn't just the right length or position(manufacturer issue), it was not bad. because of the battery plug issue, I had to plug the battery in first, then follow the rest of the instructions to plug in the daughter board.

    Well, had to give you a thumbs up just for going thru that rather painful procedure. I've replaced batteries on other cell phones, which were pretty easy to snap apart (like a Galaxy Note 4), but this one seems like it would be better to just trade it in, if possible. May take mine to the local AT&T dealer to see if they have an app to do a diagnostic test on my phone to see if it even needs a new battery, or if its something else making it act weird. Cheers.

    Hi! im a heavy user for a galaxy s6 edge plus! i have been using it for more than 2 years i believe.
    suddenly the phone started acting pretty weird. The phone was restarting a lot when using heavy apps like Snapchat or the camera. and then it started shutting off and on a lot of times when the battery hit like 40%.
    Now i cang even use the phone if its not connected to a cable. if i disconnect it it lasts like 30 seconds or until i open an app or start texting. The funny thing is the battery indicator says 100% but when the phone turns off it says 70-79%. Could it be a battery situation or could it be something more serious? The only reason i think it could be the battery is i can use the phone normally when is connected.
    thanks a lot bro! the video was very good and informative!

      All the manual work went fine, But i bought the Genuine Replacement Battery from here like your link.
      www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272493536765?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
      But the battery is about 5/7mm shorter in length then the original one, all the writing reads the same but there is no writing on the back of the battery like the original.
      Do you think this Genuine Replacement is a fake or do you know if Samsung started making them a little shorter ?

    It was the first time to try this, and you have to apply mere heat than you like also need to be very carefully cause the back-cover is glass, and i damaged mine, so now I have to wait for a new part to arrive :( also I discovered I ordered the Wrong battery from Amazon. So now I ordered both the Back-Cover and the right battery. No excuse, but when you search for parts on Amazon be 100% sure it fits, cause even you search for a specific model of battery suddenly it show you other batteries, so be carefull.

    Such a clear & easy video to follow!
    Question; I have an edge S6 and unsure if it's battery or motherboard issues. Start out the phone shut off on multiple occasions sometimes 5x in a row. The past weekend it completely shut off & start up again the next day when I charged w/different wall port. Now it's stuck in a bootloop or else it won't start at all. Only flashing the logo sign & shut off when I removed the charging cable. Must be a battery issues?
    I hope so because it's a cheaper alternative than buying a new phone. :x

    I'm considering replacing the battery on my Plus because one day I was using a battery case and it supposedly charged my phone completely but hours later of it being in my pocket without use and in a hot environment the battery was at 20% and when I tried to charge it was being glitch, it wouldn't fast charge, and a black screen with a tiny gray x on the left bottom corner would appear. 2 weeks later my phone "fast" charged but it wasn't as fast as before and the battery drains quickly.
    Would I be making a good decision replacing the battery?

    nice video! But I've a question, I have my s6edge for 1.5 years and 6 months ago I dropped it in water but it still worked after watting three days. Yesterday morning I charged my phone but it got very warm and it wouldn't turn on anymore. Do you think I should change the battery or is my phone broken?

      +MusicIsA Trap Yet sounds to me like the battery is the problem they can do that a few days after getting wet. I would recommend replacing the battery.

    I'm stumped. After I did this all I get is a solid blue light and absolutely no display. I have disassembled it several times to check the connections to no avail. I've done this repair a few times and never had this problem. I thought maybe the display assembly wasn't plugged in all the way but this wasn't the case. It is plugged in firmly. Every single connection is. I tried the various button combos from google search. I even replaced the daughter board with another att one. Any suggestions?

    When you remove the black plate watch out, the color is just some kind of foil over the back and you can easily scrap it off. If you scratch the foil you can remove all of it and end up with a cool transparent phone back, but if you don't think it looks cool BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL.
