    The wildest part imo is the fact it prevents deepstrike into your back line.

      I've been an advocate of using the bulk of an Ork army to preventing deepstrike for ages. Better yet, leave the one spot open that your open can deep strike into as a trap for the unwary.
      The smart opponent will save their deep strike for later turns of the game or bring the in on his own side.

    Better yet, leave a gap open to tempt them to attempt pouring their offfensive troops through where your Orks are waiting for them with Dakka and Krumpin'
    Meanwhile any fliers of your own can buzz across your Mek Workshop line and take out specific targets.
    I'm glad to hear you say that it "breaks the game" because I would never resort to such tactics in anything other than a friendly game against a good buddy and for funsies. Then we could swap places and let him play the Orks.
    I truly hope no Ork player has the audacity to attempt this tactic at a tournament, even if it is rules legal.
    In my gaming circles using such tactics will result in the Ork player having difficulty finding anyone to play on a regular basis.
    Having said that, it's good to see the Mek Workshop "Unit" have a good reason to get played.

    Corrections
    1. HILLS, INDUSTRIAL STRUCTURES, SEALED BUILDINGS
    AND ARMOURED CONTAINERS - models can
    be set up on top of or end a move on top of, provided
    the model’s base does not overhang the terrain feature
    (if the model does not have a base, no part of that
    model that would be in contact with the battlefield
    at ground level can overhang that terrain feature)
    You would need to get all the bits on the Hill
    2. Ruins - Infantry, Beasts and Fly models
    can be set up or end a move on any
    floor level of this terrain feature, but
    if that level is not the ground floor,
    such models can only do so if their
    base does not overhang the floor at
    that level (if a model does not have a
    base, no part of that model that would
    be in contact with the battlefield at
    ground level can overhang that floor).
    All other models can only be set up or
    end a move on the ground floor of this
    terrain feature.
    Vehicles have to set up on the ground floor

      Good point on the vehicle bit interacting with terrain. So it can't go over the top, but you can still snake it wherever else on the battlefield.

      I suspect GW will fix the Mega Armor keyword issue in an FAQ pretty quickly, but Fortifications are going to need a lot of help.

    You missed that the mek also gives vehicle units lone operative meaning the bunker cant be targeted outside of 12 inches

The game takes so much time, money, and effort just to play i don't understand the idea of ruining it with using things that are clearly not fun to play against. Just orks of all factions seems like using cheese goes against everything the army stands for. To each their own just don't be surprised that when people use tactics like this they start having a hard time finding opponents.

    Its interesting. The only inherent flaw I see is that I can't find anything that let's you set a fortification up outside of your DZ. If I'm missing it, let me know, but I had a similar thought when I was reading the index, and couldn't find a single rule that would allow me to put it outside of the DZ! Gonna throw you a sub, man, You are definitely a kunnin' boss

      It's in my DZ in the whole video ;) 3000 point table DZ dimension is 44" x 30".

    Only problem... those walls aren't part of the Mek Workshop.
    On the back of the box it clearly marks only the workbench part as "Mek Workshop" The other pieces are Ork Barricades and labeled as such. It does need to be FAQ'd for clarity... but this tactic doesn't actually work.

      It's been ruled dozens of times by GW that the barricades are part of the Mekboy Workshop unit.
      More problematic is that GW has officially discontinued the kit, so as soon as the Codex drops it will disappear from being an available unit.

      I expect GW to fix the Keywords on the data sheets and do something about fortifications. I'm not sure they can actually fix this cleanly though. Giving them a stat line and making them a unit was a mistake.

      @@DaRedWunzGoFasta sorry if im wrong but the fortifications that dont specify they can deep strike still need to be in your deployment zone and 3 inches away from other terrain so it should help while not being such a large movement blocker and being hard to deploy right ?

      @harry-gi7es The fortification does need to be in your own deployment zone, which is what I showed in the video. The terrain was changed in the Rules Commentary that now it can't be on the terrain, however it does not have to be 3" away. It is still a single *model* and not terrain itself.

      Mostly! You realistically cannot take more than 1 in a 2K point game because there's nowhere to put it all with terrain AND your own forces cannot go on it. Still, 1 is absolutely worth taking!

    What about unit coherency? The workshop comes with 7 pieces, models, which means that each model must be within 2" of two other models. Stretching it out in one line means the end two pieces are not within rwo other models......

      It's not a unit of 7, it's a unit of 1. Look at the datasheet and follow the setup instructions on it.

      The only official mission we have so far is the one at the very end of the 10th Core Rules, which has a no man's land across 24" of the middle of the table and the rest of the table on either side is the deployment zones which measure 44x18 or 44x33 depending on the size of your game. I was showing a 44x33.

    Well, I am considering to start my first army by kitbashing a Stompa, some Grot tanks (proxy for Mek Gunz and/or Killa-Kans), purchasing some Gork/Mork-anauts and Meks...
    Seems like now I need also one or more Mekboy Workshop, and maybe a bossbunka :P
    Heck I can say for fluff it's all managed by grots, save the Mex ofc. If I find some cheap airfighter model I'll maybe kitbash some bomber... Ok, I'm getting overhyped xD
    p.s. Does someone have any suggestions on how to best make this kitbashing project? :)

    As you do these sort of videos you may want to cover the lack of the character keyword on the Deffkilla wartrike
    - Pros doesn't give up assassinate points and can't be targeted by Precision
    - Cons can't be given enhancements
    My guess it's yet another miss print

      Core Rules state that movement of "-" cannot ever be modified to have a move, advance, fall back, or charge. Unfortunately. The Guard has an order that could have made their wall move 3", though it does still score OC.

    What are the rules for deploying fortification in 10th? Cant you only deploy in your own deployment zone? Also it says on the keywords it has "Fortification" keyword. surely that must mean something

      Yes in your own deployment zone, which is 44"x33" for the only legal mission released so far. So far the "Fortification" keyword doesn't do a thing.

      It's still in stock at a lot of places online and the ruins parts are in a lot of terrain kits including the KT add on and Speed Freeks. All you would need is to make the bench/crane combo.

    I believe you're completely wrong about the unit on terrain, they've clarified that you must be wholly on top of and not extending over terrain, they used the example of a drukkari raider on a building.

      @@MarketResearchReading114 You are absolutely correct, which is why this will often not work at all. Most tables are going to be cluttered with the existing terrain before you set it up and therefore its setup may actually be rather difficult and will certainly have gaps, etc.
