Being an engineering student I have to say, we engineers and engineers in training are all the same kid that grew up wanting to build stuff with out big dreaming heads in different fonts
I m still younger, living with my parents, but i have always loved the idea of commercial fishing and boats in general, living on the west coast. My dad is a fisherman, crabbing and longlining. I've dreamed for many years of becoming a naval architect, designing my own vessels. One day i hope to make a boat for my dad, or at least for someone down at the dock, but first i have to get over my hate for math lol
I've always learned by using examples. The volume of very high quality craft you've published is invaluable. Being able to take a great example and compare it to other examples, then consolidating the best of both into one has helped me immensely. I've downloaded everything you've published, and I fully believe they should add the pipeline mod as a base-game addition. I've taken the liberty to adjust your RSV Altroz with a few modifications to meet my specific needs and I love it. Also, you put out a video talking about the listing and how to fix it which was awesome saving me a lot of effort to re-retorfit a new version. You've made this game what I believe the creators have wanted it to be. Thank you!
been an engineer for about 18 years now (degrees in both structural and automotive); there's definitely a lot of overlap into other fields, and that's the greatest benefit; even if you don't work for (or eventually get tired of) working for an applicable engineering firm, contracting company, etc., just about any technical career will favor engineers over other degrees.
Can you make a turtorial video on how to make a submarine. I know there are some old videos, but I have issues making a good proper hull and fixing roll and pitch stability. Also getting fresh air and making it functional is one of my main issues.
I wanted to be an engineer back in high school. Then someone made the mistake of putting me in a pilot's seat, and I haven't looked back. This game is a great way to pretend I took a different course. But it's also a pretty solid reminder I chose the right path.
How many times have you gotten the "Oh, you're an engineer. You drive trains, right?" :) In all seriousness, I plan on being an engineer when I get out of collage and I have to agree with you about being passionate with design
The use of engineer to refer to one who operates the steam engine of a locomotive is a US rail system specific historical application of the term. In the rest of the world if it referenced to an operator of an engine it was mostly naval steam engines. Also engineer in its old french form "enginer/engineor" (part of etymological history of the term) it can literally translate to "one who ruses/deceives" and in the middle ages and before it had a specific use pretty much restricted to the role we today would call a siege engineer and could broadly refer to the architects, carpenters, etc, responsible for defensive structures and siege weapons like catapults or ballistae and in its oldest form (pre-medieval latin) it just refers to some natural or innate quality, a talent or intelligence, so "get the engineer" in that age would pretty much just mean "find the nearest smart guy/guy that is good at this" If we wanna go back to the late neolithic to early bronze age, our rock throwing barely agricultural ancestors would likely have grunted "*ǵenh₁ium" which in proto-indo-european denotes the abstract concept of production, giving birth or begetting :D
454ss lore, hell yeah!

I used to be a combat engineer.
That's an entirely different type of engineering...
I love your videos man, you make Stormworks so bearable. You're very well spoken and easy to understand.
Comments like this make me so happy! Cheers, thank you!
