Salt Lake City is the perfect place to host the 2030 Winter Olympics because all the venues in Salt Lake City that were used for the 2002 games are still being used for World Cup events and training facilities and winter sports tournaments and can be used again for the 2030 games without expensive upgrades or having to construct new venues, all of which meets the new IOC standards in saving costs by using existing venues!

I am seeing exactly what you are seeing. The result are, two candidate cities scored a perfect 10 during their perspective reviews/visits. So, in an unsual fashion, both cities were awarded. LA and Paris worked out a deal. Paris was in a bigger rush to go first having lost three previous bids (1992, 2008, 2012) to Barcelona, Beijing, and London. Paris is also celebrating its centennial from the last games in 1924. Los Angeles has not even bid since 1976 when it won and hosted the 1984 Games. It was not in as big of a rush as Paris to go first and as a result was able to negotiate a bigger budget from the IOC, as well as having the Olympic Committee forfeit any profits made by the games. For comparison, this is LA's first bid since hosting in 1984, and it was a success! Will not have to re-bid. Paris on the other hand finally got it after 3 failed attempts. Personally, I think they are both fantastic in their own ways. Paris has the history, and the French lifestyle, and LA has all the entertainment and California culture that is famous worldwide. Paris and LA compliment each other quite well.

I am seeing exactly what you are seeing. The result are, two candidate cities scored a perfect 10 during their perspective reviews/visits. So, in an unsual fashion, both cities were awarded. LA and Paris worked out a deal. Paris was in a bigger rush to go first having lost three previous bids (1992, 2008, 2012) to Barcelona, Beijing, and London. Paris is also celebrating its centennial from the last games in 1924.
Los Angeles has not even bid since 1976 when it won and hosted the 1984 Games. It was not in as big of a rush as Paris to go first and as a result was able to negotiate a bigger budget from the IOC, as well as having the Olympic Committee forfeit any profits made by the games.
For comparison, this is LA's first bid since hosting in 1984, and it was a success! Will not have to re-bid.
Paris on the other hand finally got it after 3 failed attempts.
Personally, I think they are both fantastic in their own ways. Paris has the history, and the French lifestyle, and LA has all the entertainment and California culture that is famous worldwide.
