(With the addition of Brain Revolution Girl on EN a day after this posted and Mind Brand on JP, I will put them on the list that are better than the original
Brain Revolution Girl: will be in top 5, I just love the boys voice and Miku sounds really good
Mind brand: probably above Shanti, I love the original a lot but I do appreciate N25 for the effort on doing the song as much justice as they were allowed to)
Songs that didn't make the cut:
Happy Halloween (MMJ + Rin): I just like the original more
Bitter Choco Declaration (N25 + Miku): BARELY missed the mark, but I don't like Miku's tuning
drop Pop Candy (Anhane + Luka & Rin): I forgets it exists to where I just don't like it
Dance Robot Dance (Emunene + Miku): Too high for me :[
As You Like It (WxS + Len): Just too damn high, Emu calm down :[
Alien Alien (Emunene +Miku): I like other VOCALOID covers more, so it barely hit the mark
Love me x3 (Mafuyu & Ena + Miku): the og miku sounds better (I wish it was better, since Ena and Mafuyu had potential).
DarlingDance (Minori & Haruka + Miku): I just don't like the song in general Lmao
Patchwork Staccato (Airi & Shizuku + Miku): I have too much anger against this every since I heard a Kaito cover of this song; the girls were too high
Viva Happy (MMJ + Miku): The original CAN NOT be beat, I'm sorry-
Dreamin Chuchu (MMJ + Luka): Luka, what the hell happened-
Dramaturgy (Ichika + Miku): It could've been an Akitoya cover and I'm still a bit salty over that, but other than that, it just missed the mark, it should've been like Night Sky Patrol of Tomorrow (Just Ichika).
Other Than that, any song that you have seen in me saying what songs are better as the VS version will not be on this list since they didn't even get CLOSE to the mark
the dramaturgy thing is so real, the akitoya version lives in my heart, and it also sounds similar to the original (EVE)

i, PERSONALLY, love flower but i totally respect your opinion on her. i do understand how flower can sound off and maybe kinda... annoying? she is in my top 10 list of vocaloids i like but i love listening to other peoples opinions on her, and it humbles me into looking at both sides of an argument. her voice gets scratchy and it sounds as if she put periods in between each individual word she says causing her to sound weird and awkward.

Thank you, THANK YOU for being brave enough to say that vFlower is overrated. Everyone praises her for being the best vocal synth and I’ve never understood why. Also, thank you for defending Tokyo Teddy Bear, especially on the “should have gone to Niigo” allegations; Ichika sounds so good and I’m tired of people saying that the line distribution is bad (just in general but especially with this song) when L/n is a band and no one complains about real bands usually only having one main vocalist. That being said… most of the time when you mentioned the “pitch” of the song being different, the key was actually the same; the only difference is that the boys and girls are singing at the same time, which probably just throws off your ear a bit.
1. I’m glad I can do a good deed, since I have never been a huge fan of flower
2. I’m the biggest TTB defender since I love both versions, but I love Leo/needs since the way they are sound is amazing

Finally some hot takes on Flower! I agree that her vocals are definitely very overrated - to the point that whenever I hear people hate on a cover because "omg but Flower is just so much better and too iconic!!!" I just roll my eyes back in exhaustion... I can appreciate her tuning in SOME songs but in no way do I think she is a god of Vocaloids/synthesizers or anything like that...

I have never been a fan of her voice for a while. It’s decent (venom is probably my favorite, behind is Carnival Happy) but other than that, it’s average.

Tokyo teddy bear is very good and I’m tired of having to say it’s not
Equally, all covers have a unique touch that neither can compete with and that’s what I love about covers! They always seem to be different to the original but still maintain the vibes! Whilst it can usually be the mixing or tuning problems, that’ll never stop me loving all of the covers!

wotaku bias is sooo real i love his tuning as well as his music (my fav voca p real real)! however in gehenna the tuning was actually done by ANGL and not wotaku

The way I agree with most of the songs on this list though. Especially the Flower take. Her voice isn’t bad and I like some songs, but I do think she’s overrated. And people hating the Sekai cover because Flower does it better is kinda stupid to me.

I agree! At first I didn’t really like leo/need’s TTB but I started liking it when I realized that this song is difficult to sing, plus, they still sound really good!

5:38 every time im reminded about how people hate this cover, i become a little bit sad cuz like, it's one of my favorite covers in all of pjsk (actually, rephrase that, it's my all time favorite pjsk cover) and i wish people enjoyed it as much as i do BUT i do understand that peoole are allowed to have rheir own opinions, and that is completely okay!!
for me, this cover is absolutely breathtaking, every time i hear it, i feel like im in a trance. ruikasa fixer cover is actually so AMAZING in my opinion and i absolutely adore this cover. tsukasa's staccato like singing and rui's legato like singing mix so well together, their voices compliment each other amazingly in this cover and i stand by that so much. the power and (slight) aggression in tsukasa's vocals pair so nicely with rui's smooth and flowy (a bit graceful) like vocals, and i love it so much. the vocals paired with the instrumental just take me to another dimension and it's just so wonderful to hear. even without the instrumental, tsukasa and rui still sound so amazing. ruikasa fixer cover just sounds so heavenly and divine, i feel at peace whenever i hear it, that cover makes me estatic and i love listening to it no matter what emotion im feeling because ruikasa fixer always makes me feel better. fixer is my comfort song and the ruikasa cover just makes things 12x better, so ig we can say ruikasa fixer is my comfort cover (IT 12000% IS..) i just love everything about it, from the instrumental, to the 2dmv, to the vocals, everything about it is absolutely gorgeous and stunning and i absolutely LOVE ruikasa fixer. cover so great that you change most of your social medias to have it in your username, you draw it all the time, you play it all the time on pjsk, you listen to it all the time on whichever streaming service you use! i actually cannot stop listening to fixer

0:22 My opinions on shanti are strange, it’s one of those covers that fall into “Bad song that a SEKAI cover couldn’t save”.
I LOVE the VS version of shanti (Kaito bias I call) so I had to put it at the bottom

I'm a Flower supremacist (My take: Their raspy, powerful vocals just hit different- I might get some people not being a fan since their sound is pretty unique & not something people are used to hearing, but that's honestly part of why I love them so much. One of the main reasons why I like Voice Synth/Bank songs is bc of how unique/interesting they sound. Also gender envy. That too.),
A heavy Una/Kafu/Meiko enjoyer (more unique sound that tickles my brain just right),
& a Kaito disliker (My Take: No hate to those who like him- everyone's taste is a bit different; I'm just not a huge fan of just how much his voice sounds like Kermit- it's funny, sure, but not the best to make a song sound good in my book. I dunno quite how to describe it other than that, though- I just don't like the way his voice sounds. ALSO HE KEEPS INVADING MY PULLS- I HAVE... WHAT, 6? 8 4 STARS? & I HAVE 2 OF HIS!! RAAHHHH GO AWAYYYYY)
I also really like DECO*27's Miku tuning in The Vampire (the progression goes crazy), & dislike the SEKAI ver. (My Take: A lot of the sheer power in the way the original tuning sounded was lost, & some of MMJ's voices sound quiet & awkward with the energetic instrumental, so it doesn't really capture the way that the original makes me feel with its sound. I feel similarly for the SEKAI cover of KING, since I personally don't think Ruikasa's vocals do justice to the power in the og's vocals, nor match the instrumental very well- No hate to the ship, tho- I'm pretty neutral on it since I can see how it could go really well, but also really bad)
& I'm a huge fan of Darling Dance (plinky plink song make my brain go brrrr)
However, even with all these opposing opinions, at the end of the day, we're all VOCALOID/PJSK fans. We're all in the same boat, & I think we should celebrate that more rather than going for each other's throats. We all enjoy this obscure Japanese rhythm game with robot singers. I am going to respectfully disagree when it comes to Lost One's Weeping. Whoever sings in the lower octave (especially in the chorus) overpowers the others and it takes the emotion away. In contrast, whoever tuned Len for his cover in proseka did AMAZING.

I LOVE ALTER EGO SORE DEMO II O MAE DAKAWE. the vbs kids popped off so hard all the alts are amazing the va’s really put their all. fixer just sounds super pleasant to the ears, i like how rui and tsukasa’s voices work together in that song. tsukasa’s more staccato style of sing versus rui’s more laggato especially in the shizumu shizumu etc etc. (i also have heavy bias towards vbs & wxs) and phony just sounds super cool & the 2dmv is actually so amazing.
like i get people have thier own opinions & stuff but i genuinely did not know people disliked these covers enough for them to be considered unpopular….. :(

The vocals in goodbye declaration are a bit empty, but it creates a simplicity and contrasts the music, and it’s generally amazing and not packed with useless shouting and overexaggeration.
That’s another reason why I love it so much, since there really isn’t anything they added to it, just their vocals and they did it well :D

Positive Dance Time - It’s not really that I hate the sekai cover but it’s how loud and high-pitched emu is which kinda makes me dislike the cover. I’m not really a fan of Otomachi Una because I don’t really listen to the songs she’s featured in since it’s not really my taste (the only one I like is kinoko ga haeteru)
Lost One’s Weeping - I love Rin’s tuning in the original but honestly? The SEKAI cover is overhated. It’s not terrible and it sounds kinda nice actually
Teo - Ngl I prefer VS version here as well. I like the SEKAI cover and especially love the Saki alt cover but the Miku in the original just sounds good to me
Love Ka? - Hot take but.. I don’t like both the original and sekai versions. Idk why but this song isn’t just my taste and flower sounds weird here, and I don’t like the sekai cover either
Ghost Rule - I listened to the VS version wayyyyyyy too much so I kinda prefer it, but Ichika sounds fire
Bring it on - The cover is def overhated, it sounds good to me, but it doesn’t beat out Rin and Len tbh
Kimagure Mercy - The song itself is a banger so both versions sound good
The other ones I agree. Also imo a lot of flower songs are overrated. I’m not the biggest fan of her voice either but I keep seeing people say how amazing she sounds in every song (which I don’t necessarily agree)

1) I enjoy Flower in some songs, but she is definitely...DEFINITELY overrated and I HATE "Because flower did it better" as a reason for why a SEKAI version is "bad".
2) Crying tears of joy at KING and fixer being there bc I DO NOT like KING's og tuning and I also just think Rui and Tsukasa's VAs sound good when they sing together, ship or no ship (someone made a fanmade mix of love ka? w/ them and it SLAPS)
3) I find myself regularly switching between the og and SEKAI versions of The Vampire bc both hit for me tbh
4) Ifuudoudou slaps idc, it being an absolute slay from the VAs once again aside, I like the instrumental for the VBS/BAD DOGS version so much more. People ask why they changed the instrumental and to that I say "who cares it sounds great"
Anyway fun video and I think people need to let themselves get used to covers before deciding if they're Bad™ bc a lot of the time it's just an issue of not being used to it. And a ship you (generic you!) don't like/think is overrated also does not make a song bad, give the VAs some credit!!

2. THANK YOU- I HATED KINGS TUNING FOR THE LONGEST TIME SO WHEN I HEARD KING I JUST ENJOYED IT MORE. And yeah, I like the VAs, they sound really good together (ship or no ship)

Finally, another person who prefers the WXS Love Ka? to the original. I don’t personally HATE vflower (she can sound fine at times), but the og Love Ka? makes me want to remove my ears. The WXS cover genuinely made me start enjoying the song.

Rui, Nene, and Tsukasa fit, but Emu really doesn't. They might as well have used flower since you can literally still hear her over MEIKO. Also holy shit the flower disrespect is insane

Ichika's vocals really don't sound like they're mixed in well. Miku's vocals also don't sound as powerful, either.

Len doesn't sound like he fits in. Rui and Tsukasa sound fine, it's Len that kind of ruins it for me.

Here go Leo/Need ruining classics again. Nightcord would've been better, and they should've used the original tuning. Hell, N25 would've been able to do it at its original tone fine if they've done Otome Dissection.

Honestly, they should've just kept VS only. This song doesn't really fit any of the other units imo.
Hachioji-P - Kimagure Mercy (2016)
If they used the original vocals, it would've been amazing. Miku NT sounds, once again, out of place.
1. Rin doesn’t sound the worst, I’ve heard worst from her (and I have low standards) I still do like the original! Which is why it’s near the bottom :)
2. I like both, not to mention other creators tuning are a hit and miss as if it’s too high I won’t like it as much (mesmerizer)
3. Yes, emu ruins it, and yes, I disrespect flower on this channel. She isn’t a bad vocaloid, I just find her overrated and VERY few songs of her’s I like
4. They sound similar in my ears, I have listened more to DECO’s so I’m more learning towards him, but ichika carried

8. -I feel like you have a grudge against Leo/need- Nightcord would NOT have been better. Sure the meaning but it’s rock based, it’s Leo/need and they did fine (and also Otome Dissection sucked, my other video puts it at the top of being only VS)
9. I think VBS was the better choice as it’s like their style of music, not the lyrics but style, not to mention I don’t like the tuning in the original as DAMN it’s high
10. I think the girls sounded fine? Yeah the miku tuning is definitely different but it’s more “humanoid” (heavy quotes) and the way they did it was decent

Just commenting about your boss song post on Reddit. You really need to say what level songs you are polling about. Because 29-30 is not boss songs and we don't know if you're gonna ask about 30+ in the next page. So it's impossible to rate 28-30s as it stands. You should be asking, Rate the 29-30s or something like that. I did actually assume you wouldn't be asking about harder songs so my ratings of like 7-9 were ok probably. But those are not boss songs lol. I think 31 is where it gets really hard and you can start to say boss. I'm not very good at the game and I'd say 32 is boss. 31 is just very hard. And I have only 2 30 fcs. But I'm not that good I think. Many Japanese are very good because they played with friends from a young age with many previous rhythm games including arcade games like Chinuthum which is basically Append in Proseka. So it's hard to say 31 is boss. 32 is definitely boss.

I was basing off the point that I only have EN PRSK and APPEND won’t be out for a good few months after I put out the boss song video.
I, myself, have played rhythm games before but since they all have different ranking systems, I go by what I know.
For many EN server players, 29-31 are difficult. Not too hard as they have FC’d them, but hard enough to be where it takes time to FC them on EXPERT (expert as many masters at these difficulties aren’t too bad)
But yeah, I understand :] just want to clarify a bit
