Terri, don't push the button on the handle. Much easier to just pull. The button is for lifting the fry basket out of the base. Go back and check the sticker that was on the top. I love Corsori but I made the mistake of getting the smaller 3.7 qt. It is a bit small for the way I like to cook. Thanks for the demo and recipes.
Literally just got one August 6 of 2023. The only thing that I’ve done so far is the testing which is preheating five minutes and then preheating again on the steak option. But I actually haven’t cooked anything in it yet. Can’t wait to use it. I am completely blind and I’ve seen so many reviews about this. This is exactly what Made me think about buying it. The fact that it also can connect to your smart speaker is even more helpful for me considering that I have no vision at all. The V sync app is actually accessible for me as well, so I love the accessibility features on here, not just for me, but just anyone in general.
I just got mine, I love it! When you check your food before time is up, just push it back in, it will continue to cook and turn on to finish. No need to push start. I love that!🤗

Yes, its fantastic! It's large, but we keep it on top of the counter by the sink, well worth it. Saves a hot house, greasy stove.. you can use foil and parchment paper. I've made pizza, burgers, heat up breaded shrimp, so much more.

I love my cosori 5.8. Had it since April and have cooked lots of things in it, even cake!! 2 mini meatloaf's, chicken legs, thighs, wings, salmon, pork steaks, grilled asparagus, blooming onion, fries, and many more things. Tonight will be 2 cornish hens and acorn squash. That's what's for dinner. 😁😁😁 it also makes the BEST baked potatoes.

to open drawer you don't put plastic button in that button is to let you separate inner and outer basket for cleaning ,and for shaking. shaking like in the video will cause stress on the handle and it will break off
I have the Cosori at home and at my camper and I also have the Cosori oven and I absolutely love Cosori
Love mine, got it two days ago. Initially forgot to take out the bit of cardboard at the bottom!!!! Luckily didn't damage it or set the kitchen on fire, but had an interesting smell of hot cardboard for a while. Lesson learned!

My Cosori AF is on the way and I just can’t wait. Although we don’t eat meat, we are looking forward to roasting vegetables, potatoes, etc. If you want a real treat, bake some Japanese Sweet Potatoes, Refrigerate them, then cut them in half lengthwise. Open them up and air fry them on 400. (I think she did them for 15 min.). It is like dessert. You can even sprinkle cinnamon on them. Sooooo good!

That was probably the most enjoyable review on this machine I've seen so far... and really informative as well. I've been looking at the same air fryer (only the red one) and your review has convinced me. Can't do it this month 'cause the car needs that scheduled maintenance, but next month? You better believe one of these is coming to our house. Thanks for showing such a good variety of foods in it and not just fries. So easy... and the only thing I'm worried about is that I might eat far too much in my exuberance and excitement to try things out. Could gain some weight before I get finished.
- Oh, by the way... you don't want to eat my mama's chicken. She's an awful cook... overcooks everything.... dries it out and makes it terrible. Can't bake either, bless her. Somehow she got 7 of us to adulthood and the girls all learned to actually cook well after we left home. The boys, not so much. One relied on camp cooks (he worked in mines around the world until he reitired) and the other makes stuff that isn't all that great, but he thinks it is, so I keep my mouth shut. LOL

Hi, My husband and i watched your video just now and we are glad that we have one coming from Amazon at the end of April. You have convinced me that chicken wings are the thing to try first! They were done exactly the way that I like them....add some buffalo wing sauce and dig in just like you did. My husband wants to try the shrimp first. Do NOT press the button, just pull the basket straight out. The plastic is a lock for the basket release button.
You can also buy paper liners, makes for easier cleanup!
Paper liners are a great idea for messy recipes!!
Yeah I got the paper aligners for mine as well. Actually when I got mines it suggested to get those as well. It only cost me I believe $12 for a 100 pack. And they also had one for 13/$14 for 100 pack as well.
Terry. nice review. Looking to upgrade to a larger unit from my Philips compact unit. One thing to mention, the heat is produced from the top element only and the fan pushes the hot air down and around for the 'fryer" effect. Try onions rings, toast bagels and cheese from frozen, and for regular recipes that call for 400+ degrees reduce the airfryer temp and time as the air swirling cooks faster and hotter than indicated. My fav is ½" disks of firm zucchini dipped in any sauce you like and coated in panko crumbs...

Loved the review. There shouldn't be a button on the handle to pull out the basket. The clear plastic sliding piece is there to stop you from accidentally dropping the bottom from the basket
It may be the angle, but I can pull my basket out easily with a couple fingers. Maybe I have a newer revision, but mine comes out super easy
I work with it so much better now... you are correct that is the release for the basket to take it out.
That's what I tried to tell her as she was struggling on pulling out the basket
I'm in the market for a new air fryer and this review has convinced me to go with the Cosori. 5.8qt and the interface will be a big upgrade for me.

Cosori or Gourmia. I have a Zafro Air Fryer which I think is related to Gourmia because their crisper trays are identical. Love my air fryer. I love unboxings!!!!

There is a bit of noise... sounds like an airplane cabin. I turn on my exhaust fan over the stove and point it there. Depending on what you are cooking there could be smoke.

This is just the most best air fryer for BLIND people, as instead of having to press buttons, you can operate it with your smart device, such as your Android, iphone, Amazon Echodot and/or other Amazon smart device or even a Google smart device just by telling it to heat it to heat it to a certain designated temperature and then it will cook at that particular temperature for a certain designated amount of time, as I have one and I am BLIND. I haven't cooked any of the recipes that they recommend yet, but I eventually will. currently, I've been cooking what I already know how.

You may need to split the chicken and cook only half at a time. This is a nice basket.

Why do you think you have to press a button on top of the handle when pulling the basket out of the air fryer? I just received my Cosori 5.8, all you do is grab the handle and pull the basket out. No thumb involved.

What do you think of this model vs other brands for a family of 4?
I see the WiFi smart model as well..... looking for a very roomy one for us.
We are a family of 3 no issues with meat preperation. It's a pretty big base. The only time I wish it was bigger is making chips like zucchini and potato. Otherwise we have been using the heck out of it for meats, veggies and oh the bacon... yum!
I have one, and am ready to buy a second. We are cooking most everything in it, and I’m shuffling to get it all in. Now we want one for main dish & one for sides. Enjoy!
The WiFi model is 5.5L compare to the one in the video is 5.8. For a family of 4 5.5L is sufficient. With the WiFi model you can put you food in the Air Fryer and when you are near home set it to come on so when you get home the food is done. Or you can put it on timer.
I'm going to get the new model that recently came out. I like the programmable pre-sets on the new model.

@@ivetten8502 I have not tried the Wi-Fi model. It is a way to monitor with your mobile device. However, your going to stay close to shake the basket when needed so not sure that we need Wi-Fi with this product. I love mine. 😀

Hi! Thanks for making this video. very helpful! I recently bought that same air fryer and I'm happy with it. However, I'm having a little issue with the buttons. Was it easy for you when you press the button to change temperature and time? Because for me, I pressed it temp/time button countless times, even with little pressure and still nothing change. The rest of the buttons are fine except for the temp/time button. I have to use the app to change the temp/time on my iPhone. Any suggestion?

I've heard that this model after heated up can be harder for the basket in and out as it expands, is this true on this? Saw it pull out kind of hard after heated up.
We have been using it hard for a year and it still looks good with no issues.

Has the handle been ok, as other uses have said online... After a few months the handle has become lose and broken beyond use. Like to get a cosori but the handle issue is putting me off. Many thanks for any help 😉

It's a Teflon coating and very easy to clean.

Hello Terry, because you did a review of the Cosori, I would like to ask you. I just got one a few days ago on Amazon the 3.7qt. I like it very much but before I tested anything I noticed that it's very hard to open the baskets with the handle, but even much harder to close it. I literally have to slam it every time so hard that I manage to push the whole fryer . I checked, I took everything out, the plastic guard is in the right place, I don't think I do anything wrong. I also noticed that when closed the bottom corners of the outer basket are not flush with the body of the fryer, there is a little gap and it sticks out, it's actually pretty sharp. And the handle has s little play its moving up and down. I read some comments on Amazon, looks like it happened to others, some people say it did it only when new, the more they used it, it got easier. But others had to return it. So I don't think it's right, and I don't think I'm doing anything wrong
Before I would call the company I thought I would ask some Cosori owners on TH-cam. Did this happen to you? Can you give me some advice? It's disappointing because this suppose to be the #1 selling air fryer. I would appreciate if you can help me. Thank you, Judith
Hi Judith, Mine is flush and I never had any alignment problems. Been using it every week now for over a year and 1/2. I think you may have had a defective model. I would try again. I love mine. 😀
@@terrybuysstuff Thank you Terry, well the alignment is not the problem now it's the fact that it's so difficult for me to open the drawer /baskets but especially to close it. I literally have to slam it to close it completely. I got a second one, that's not quite as difficult but still it requires a certain amount of force. The first one was defective definitely. But i managed to talk to a few others who have the same experience, opening and closing it doesn't slide, which one would expect. So I came to realize that probably all air fryers built this way, I mean having 2 baskets, 1 inside the other will have this problem because the lever is attached in that way, to connect both baskets. So I'll be looking for one that only has a crisper plate inside 1 basket. There aren't many, but the Ninja is one. I don't know why because i think it's more practical and easier to clean too. We'll see. For some people they don't even realize that it's difficult to open and close but i have small hands not a lot of strength. But actually I found many others who don't like that either. Besides that the Cosori is one the best air fryers. Too bad i can't use it. Thank you 😊
Hot air under the cabinets will not destroy them...can be used under cabinets...not sure why you say otherwise
Hi Backline Guy, did some more research and you are correct. Cosori does recommend 5 inches from the wall to properly vent. It does get pretty hot back there :) thanks for commenting.

There are so many out there. My experience with this one is amazing and I do recommend the Cosori.
A lot of air fryers are advised to sit on a heatproof surface as they get hot on the bottom, how hot does this one get?
No, we use it on our counterop with no issue.

No, but I always take a damp towel and wipe down the inside.

Can you put foil along the bottom to help reduce clean up?
You could but clean up is pretty easy. It wipes out from the non-stick surface. 😀
@@terrybuysstuff Sorry for all the questions but I want to make sure I know what I’m doing before I buy one. I like to marinade chicken for lengthy periods, so by the time it’s ready to be cooked it’s pretty soaked. I guess my question is does this thing do a pretty good job cooking marinated/wet foods?

The one I am getting is the Cosori SC158-AF smart one that uses the app.
I know it has 11 presets built in.
Or you can manually control it.

I got my Cosori air fryer and it is amazing. I find it actually doesn't get quite a hot touching the front of the basket were the handle is as I thought it would. But yes it gets hot at the back were the vent is.
No, you don't need to push that little lever in. That's a safety so you don't eject the basket. Push it forward to eject the basket..safely. Just pull out the assy. No buttons.

Not smoking but steam. Put it on the CPU ter close to the stove so the back faces your oven and turn your fan on to pull out the smell... your house will smell like fried chicken, bacon... whatever you are cooking. That cuts it down.
I did try this but even though my fan is new it doesn't work well at all.
I want a white 5 quart one most are black.
Try the black one, you might like it and never go back

Is it safe to put foil paper in the bottom for easier cleaning???
I have not becuase it's nonstick as so easy to clean. Yes, you can put aluminum foil in an air fryer but the safety of doing it depends entirely on what kind of food you are cooking. With most foods, you can just go ahead and wrap them in aluminum foil, throw them in the air fryer and get to cooking as long as you have sealed the wrap properly.

Hi Vittoria, WIDE TEMPERATURE RANGE - 180°F to 400°F in 10 degree increments & a timer up to 60 minutes, °F/°C unit switching. It allows you to gently remove moisture from foods or quickly cook and crisp foods with convection heat. The 3.7-quart size serves food for 2-3 people. The 5.8-quart size serves food for 3-5 people.
