thanks for the video it helped me with my audi a8 i am from the netherlands and my a8 stood still for 6 years and is now alive again it has an 4.2l v8 .keep it up with the videos
Is there a trick to getting the black piece off I tryed hitting lightly and it doesn’t budge so the lil nubs are starting to get damaged and won’t come out
If you are talking about the ring, I got it out using the same method you are trying. I’m not sure if any other ways, if in your position I would try and use the bluntest thing I could find to put against the nubs and use a mallet, tapping it lightly to start and get progressively harder, maybe even going nub to nub in hope it’ll loosen up. If I can find another way I’ll comment on here later.
I see you ended up breaking yours, but if anyone else looks in here- that extra outlet on the pump is important. It drives 'motive flow' and that flow is what brings the fuel from certain parts of the tank. If it's missing (wrong pump) like yours, or not installed properly- the car will break down with fuel starvation with about half a tank remaining. I suspect your car was in that condition when you started.

I am so glad to hear that! I bet that’s a great feeling 😁😁
Czy konieczne jest wypompowywanie paliwa z baku? I jak to zrobić najskuteczniej.
Definitely makes it easier, use an electric siphon to make it easier.

No joke, had mine done about five years ago it went bad again it's a tuff job they could have put the fuel pump in a better spot
It’s a horrendous job, not one I’d like to do again!
Is this different than the S8???
Not sure, I’d imagine they would share the same set up!

Yes I replaced the pump with a VDO pump with the 2 pieces on the bottom of it which kind of solved the problem until the next arose.
There is a major step missing from most fuel pump replacement videos. I had all the issues possible with my d2 and took me a while to figure it out
@@viktorboksai2250what step?
The dude is a mechanic and just trying to get his bread back..
well me to repair the fuel pump becouse when i have half i cant start the engine
If you fill above half can you start the engine?
Same for me..under 1/4 of a tank runs out of fuel...i believe is dosent sit correctly or wrong type
Bugger of a job...
A real headache, not just the fumes!
