That scene with Jim Bob was a heartbreaker. What a lovely scene. It explained everything about Corabeth. How can you not cry. We all have lost dreams, forgotten hopes, hidden talents. May we all gather our courage to dream once again, attempt one more time to surround ourselves with hope. All it takes is a flicker.
If I had ever met her I would have said to her - I loved the deep, rich & multifaceted character you created. You were always a pleasure to watch on the TV screen. 💖 Goodnight, sweet Corabeth ‼️
I love the Waltons, watch episodes over and over ❤ and every time Ronnie Clair appeared on the show, it made me a little more happier I was watching it!😊 wonderful actress she was, it was like she was actually Corabeath, no one but her could have played that part so well ! She was Magic 😊 ❤ l didn't even know she passed away until today when I saw it on my tablet I'm very sad today ,it's like a beautiful bright star has left us 😢 good bye sweet Corabeath ❤ will be seeing you on the Waltons ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I was so happy to see that they had showed that scene with David Harper. It is such a beautiful and poignant display of Ronnie's acting abilities and an insight into the character of Corabeth.
It is heart breaking to see all the wonderful people that were on this show slowly leave us. I watch the show every day and I guess I did not realize how many we have lost until it started popping up on u tube. All of them did such a great job and when u watch it every day it's like they r all still here. They will be with us forever, rest in peace each and everyone of u. There r millions of people out here that still love u and all u did for us then and all u do for us now.
Well done tribute. She was beautiful and elegant until the end. Am glad she kept her hair dark, unlike many older women who lighten their hair. God bless her soul and the rest that have passed on. They will live forever in The Waltons.
What a Beautiful lady she was! The Waltons will forever be one of my very Favorite shows! So much depth and honesty portrayed in this program. May Ronnie Claire RIP. 😇💜
What a wonderful classy lady. She was so right, the writers DID give Corabeth depth, you hated her but you loved her at the same time and wanted the best for her. Miss Edwards played her well, so believeable. Rest in peace Ronnie Claire Edwards.
Beautiful lady. I never knew I would miss Ronnie Claire Edwards so much. I loved her scene with Rachel longaker in the motorcycle race where she talks about adopting a baby versus a grown child. what a class classy lady! she will truly be missed! I wanted to go see the cruise with The Waltons even though it was in Virginia and I'm in Oregon she will be dearly missed. I purchased her book recently the knife throwers assistant. I think about her frequently and it touches my heart. God bless her she was so precious!
Ike and Corabeth were fine characters on The Waltons. I have always been touched by Joe Conley's ability to make a minor character a major character, and Ronnie Claire Edwards helped this journey immeasurably. Both of them were ideal together.
She played such a memorable part in the Waltons. I immediately recognized her in her other acting jobs. Thank you Ronnie. Rest in Peace until we meet again.
What a classy, well-spoken lady and extremely talented actress. Her speech to Jim Bob was beautifully written, but it was her delivery that spoke to me. Goodnight, Corabeth. Goodnight, Ronnie Claire.
What amazing ensemble cast! Every character and actor perfectly selected, John & Olivia, the grandparents, the kids, Ike and Cora Beth, the wonderful Baldwin Sisters, the Fosters, and the list goes on and on! I have been watching these episodes for nearly 50 years, and it never gets old. I have been to Schuyler many times. I will always love the Hamners and the Waltons. They have become part of my soul!
She was an amazing actress and will be forever immortalized as Cora Beth Godsey. I still smile when I watch the Waltons and hear her refer to her husband as "Mr. Godsey". She had such style and grace. She was a rare talent who will be missed.
The characters of Corabeth and the Baldwin sisters really elevated the series. Any scene they were in, you couldn't look away. Ronnie Claire Edwards, Helen Kleeb, Mary Jackson: brilliant actresses who gave the show real atmosphere and believability. Their performances were on a different level from the rest of the regular cast, IMO.
Cora Beth was an amazing character. Like Grandma, she was the reality that when things don't go as expected, some of us don't handle disappointments with quiet dignity & grace - and it's not all sweetness, but there's forgiveness for that eventually. As she said - Earl wrote her perfectly in that she did indeed have many redeemable qualities. Most of us do too. It just takes time to get there.
I was never into "The Waltons" when growing up. I first saw her in the Star Trek TNG episode "Thine Own Self". I was mesmerized by her performance...sheer & pure talent. You feel so involved with her character and you get the sense it's the case with every role she played. R.I.P. Ms. Edwards.
We shared a mutual friend. I was a friend of Pat Delany who played the mom on the long ago SWISS FAMILY ROBINSON . I didn’t know her well but we were both at a couple of parties at Pats house . She was very down to earth. We spent a lot of time talking about HAIR PRODUCTS! Pat has now passed about a year after Ronnie. I know the last time I talked to Pat she told me Ronnie had moved to Texas & bought a Church ...to be turned into her home! A very nice lady . RIP BOTH RONNIE & PAT . ❤️
Best Corabeth scene was when she adopted a girl child, and the child questions her at point blank about who Corabeth is, and why. Corabeth explains how she was raised in a family that didn't show affection, incredible depth and talent.
Corabeth Godsey. There was a little piece of her in all of us. Difficult at times, sweet and caring at others. RIP Ronnie Claire Edwards, you gave us much joy through your acting on the Waltons.
I think what made Corabeth and Ike's relationship so relatable was that together they were better than apart, but both sides had to pay a price and make big sacrifices to make the marriage work.
I hope you're in peace in this next journey. We'll miss you tremendously. Condolences to your family and friends as they must know your true spirit. Good night, Ronnie Claire.
Simply beautiful and poignant without all the extras and she was a SpiritSoul who conveyed through her creative artistry and flare and her face and mannerisms along with exquisite vibrant fashion sense just embraced what Ronnie Claire was about. A truly gifted woman whose legacy of her work....smiles...words will forever be endearing to all. A true poet in motion :)
a rose of sweetness bright and blooming in the suns rays. a voice of velvet what a joy to watch through the years. beautiful classy actress and no doubt a wonderful person in life
What she added to that show was extraordinary. It would be one thing to just read that flowery dialogue. Ronnie convinced us that those were HER choice of words, her everyday vernacular.
Margaret , I always felt she did too. Can you imagine being taken out of your element and being put in a place where you feel you do not belong? That can be a very difficult experience. Miss Edwards played that role so well. I often found myself at times feeling sorry for Cora Beth.
@@racingfan126 I had not seen the show that introduced Cora Beth when I was younger. I just saw her after she had been on the show for a while. Her premier appearances tell you her past. which I did see until I purchased season 3 of The Walton's several years ago---a fantastic season BTW. Yes, she really was not like the Waltons Mountain people. But that was what gave so much interest to her character. What a brilliant casting decision when it came to "Cora Beth".
Thank you for making this tribute to Ronnie Claire Edwards. I wish I could have met her in person. Sadly, she passed away.😰😰😰my favorite episode with her was the motorcycle race; where she adopted her daughter Amy (Rachel Longaker. Another favorite). Very touching. I bawl my head off every time I see it!!!! Ps. I can't read any of the message you are writing. The print is way too small. Shes such a great dramatic actress. I think of her often. She left such a huge imprint on my life.
She was One beautiful lady. SO CLASSY 😃 I love me some Cora Beth Godsey /Godsy. I thought she was a little Too refined for the mountains. But it ALL worked out just fine. GOOD NIGHT RONNIE CLAIRE EDWARDS ✝️🛐☮️💟💜🙏.
I really hated her when she first started on the show but it sure didn't take long to love her & the character she played. Corabeth was a great addition
I just love her she is so rich with talent and artistic skills plus she has a tender lovely voice i love hearing her sing "i love you truly "good night sweet Corbeth
Its funny but as a young boy it was always the characters that on the surface seemed a bit horrible i took a shine too - Mrs Olson in Little House On The Prairie and Corabeth in The Waltons - a kid can see through the fronts that people put on .Getting a cuddle or a candy bar form these two would mean so much more . Ronnie Claire Edwards was an amazing actress
Ronnie Claire Edwards always imbued Corabeth with a sense that she was on a journey, going somewhere. I'm thrilled she took us all on that journey. She made her character very believable, and the marriage between Ike and Corabeth was a special one.
Ronnie Claire Edwards played the part of Corabeth magnificently. Her character added something extra to the show. To boot, she is really a fine looking woman with acting skills to match.
Ronnie Claire Edwards was also a great friend of the late Leslie Jordan. Together, they went on many a great adventure. His last book, "How Y'All Doing?," shares many of their stories. A great read!
Yet she had a showcase for 9 years on one of the most beloved series on television, that plays to this day, long after her passing and many others we loved on the show! Gone but never forgotten!💕

neither show has been off the air and i still watch both
Both mini-masterpieces! 🤗
Ronnie Claire, was a great addition to the Walton's, she did not just play the part...she lived it.
Like Ms Edwards said herself in this compilation Corabeth was one of the best characters. So believeable, we loved her and cared about her.
May she walk in Lord's arms forever along with Family & Friends above in Heaven & Earth. RIP Ronnie.
Corabeth Godsey. There was a little piece of her in all of us. Difficult at times, sweet and caring at others. RIP Ronnie Claire Edwards, you gave us much joy through your acting on the Waltons.
She was less nasty than "Harriet Olson" for sure.
the scene with Jim Bob..my favorite of the whole series...thank you..I cry..yet happy..silly..
Me too...(I really felt sorry for Corrabeth)
I really remember that scene,,,,,so touching!

Just like The Fonz, hard to apologize, but when she called him Ike or dear, she had a heart. The scene with Jim Bob was Golden.
