    The group that really got me into hip hop!, can’t express enough how much they meant to me as a youngster getting into music, blew everything wide open and changed the way hip hop was viewed in the larger world stage!

    I still recall being at a De La Soul concert at NYU in 1997 and hearing that Tommy Boy representatives were shocked that so many students in the audience knew and still were enlivened by their gifts. Why not allow people to experience the fruits of their own labor while we are alive? LIP Maseo; the laugh that you Ishtar have heard on the song Feel Good Inc. by The Gorillaz.

    Hilarious that Maseo doesn't know that Steely Dan isn't a single person, but a group.

    That's why I love James Brown..Use my stuff.. JUST SEND HIM THE CHECKS. Always give credit... if it does well... send the checks... it should be that simple. Sampling lets the new generation learn about the prior generation

    I always expected the De La guys to seem way more suburban and intellectual based on their records but if anything Maseo seems more 'street' than a lot of the supposedly hardcore acts, as a personality. He obviously knows his shit!

    Yup.. when your surprisingly great or inspired and blooming but your peers didn't realize it.. taking you for granted... breeds so much envy especially when they believe they are the shit. But you only bloom due to true love for whatever your doing.. not the fame or money... it's always true love for anything that makes a human get great at whatever

    This interviewer tries to sound like Sway. You are not Sway. The whole platform tries to be like Actor In The Studio. These long drown out interviews such. Speed it up

    • @79Glitch
      @79Glitch 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That’s why we love these interviews: they’re more like a conversation about music, not quick sound bites where the interviewer has an agenda to chop up little portions to place provocative titles on the clips to get TH-cam clicks. For us fans who care about music and want to know the deeper story behind the music and deeper side of the artists ... these Red Bull interviews are amazing. Some interviewers are better than others, but they all come across as genuine. Long form is the shit, whether you’re talking about literature or articles or interviews. For people who aren’t literate, who maybe aren’t very bright and don’t have the attention span to take in information and learn things, there will always be clickbait bullshit like late night talk show interviews and Vlad interviews, or forced agenda interviews like Sway and the other radio show clips. Maybe you should stay in that lane and let the adults enjoy a long form interview?
