Mother + Daughter Live Full Time In Custom DIY Van Converted from a Fire Department Step Van.

- Meg and Molly and their two cats and one dog live full time in a Van tiny house that they built from a montreal fire department utility truck, They have been traveling north america for the past 2 years and have only recently settled down in Tofino BC (still in the Van) so that Molly could go to school. Meg got interested in Vanlife through friends and seeing adventurous people on instagram living the lifestyle. It dawned her that just because she is a single mom does not mean that she has to be shackled to a normal life where she worked to pay rent and was unable to save money for the future. Meg built the van out herself with some help for the solar and plumbing, she used to have a cubic mini wood stove in the van but found that the wood cut in to her fuel economy and found that it was too much of a hassle, so she decided to just chase the sun instead. @@lorisanford8515 It never ceases to amaze me that people can watch such an inspirational video by an intelligent well balanced woman explaining their lifestyle and how their vehicle works and it's limitations, then when you read the comments you get about 10 people who all nèver pay attention and they all ask the following questions:-
1. How do you earn a living whilst on the road ?
2. Where do you Poop ?
3. Where do you shower ?
All this despite the woman explaining she has a cat litter tray in the garage so that the cats can have a dump in privacy without the smell nuking the whole van !!

Let's talk bout fresh air for a second. I can tell u from experience dwelling in a low volume space with elevated humidity the smell factor goes up add some amazing pets and it gets gross.

Through the video you can feel the comfort of this home. It’s so nice! I wish this had been a thing when I was a young single mom 30 years ago. I’m older now retired. But I want a home like this so bad. For my husband and I and our pets. I want it so we can go visit our daughter who lives in another state. This mom has done an amazing job with this home. As a mother, I love what you are doing for you and your daughter never give up I watch this a lot and they have this portable shower it’s round and you just pop it up like a yo-yo shower get dry and you drain the water right out the door with a hose. Love this! I remember her old set up and this seems to suit them so much better. One thing about “van lifers” (of which I hope to be in the near future) is their ability to adapt and keep going. I can totally relate regarding savings. I live out of my Prius since July 14, 2019. I left my apartment with $41,000 saved, and I put away about $1000 per month, and I have just made it beyond the $100,000 mark. Savings will come. It requires simplicity, focus and discipline.

What a fantastic mom and person! This is easily my favorite video. I really really want this too. I have been trying to live out of my bedroom to learn how to store stuff and downsize. As practiced. We live in a one bedroom, but still have too much stuff. But we both want this and at some point it will be just me.. money is the issue to buy something or to make something happen. But listening to you, showed me where there is a will there is a way. I love your rig! It is so cozy! The rain is beautiful and the sound! I want this bad!
