Possibly the most under-rated, under-played, and under-appreciated Berlin track. The thing screams for club play but never got it much, at least in my part of the country at the time. I think it was too "dance rock", which I personally prefer over a purer disco sound. But that's me. Dance Rock never got club play. I remember mixing Blondie War Child extended version one night and got negative feedback--except from one fellow long haired rocker guy that later applauded me for mixing it telling me "I thought I was the only gay guy that loved rock. Thank you".

Unfairly regarded as something of a one hit wonder because of "Take My Breath Away" - this for me is one of their best songs (along with "You Don't Know", "No More Words" and "Masquerade"). This extended version is top notch!
It's a shame that Berlin's back catalog has been neglected. Tracks like "Like Flames [Extended Version]" deserve a CD release after all these years. I e-mailed Cherry Red a few months ago about tackling Berlin's back catalog for a reissue and remaster treatment. Hopefully, the folks at Cherry Red will look into it, but that all depends on whether or not Geffen/Universal would be willing to license.
With brand new Berlin stuff coming out from the original members next year or so, they either would be interested in reissuing old and rare stuff, or on the contrary be absolutely against it.
