Lake District by Jimny - Parkamoor and surrounding lanes

- Always keen for a challenge, we tackle the lane to Parkamoor on the eastern side of Coniston Water, one of the more technical lanes in the Lake District National Park. We also ventured into TIlberthwaite and then up and over 'The Fox' in Grizedale Forest.
On the way we tried out Marks new MaxTrax on some problematic sections, no point having them sitting in the boot all clean!
Joining us this time was Marks brother John with his dog and a good friend Jem who by the end had changed his opinion of the Jimny being just a 'Barbie Doll Jeep'!
Enjoy.
Hahaha excellent. Wanna take my jimny there now
Great to see some footage of some good honest off-roading
gearbox bash plate fitted ????????
Fabulous cars. Great video. I had a new Panda 4x4 in 2015, took it on some ridiculous terrain but obviously not as good at it as this little monster. Cheers.
Nice to see how "old men" become boys with the right toys 😅
That is some gnarly tracks there boys. I’d be worried on a bike let alone in a motor vehicle! Good work 🤘🏼
Awesome just bought myself a 2006 jimny looking forward to get out like this 😎
Its fun, me and my girl want another 4x4 to do this, we miss it
Great video, they are great little cars that surprise many, more diff lock usage to take the strain off the running gear and thank you for not adding music to it👍
thanks for the vid mate.. though I didnt see any crocs or roos.. reckon you werent off road........ looks like you enjoyed it.... thanks again .... from the antipedes
have you done a four wheel drive driving course>>>
it's a real freaky off-road 🤪 thanks for video
No worries!
Great videos, I've now subscribed. Bloke in the white jumpers a pain in your bum, stood in the way pretty much every time.
Ha! Thanks Iain. Having a spotter is always useful, I probably just give it the berries when he’s not expecting it! I’ve certainly had to run out of the way of people a few times, good to keep us all on our toes.
brilliant video, hope to see more like this.
Cheers, I'm getting out and about when time allows. Just editing footage from a mooch around North Yorkshire at this very moment.
nice tyres.. what size.. what brand.... probably cant buy down under.. still Id like to know.. thank for a nice vid...
just a little note.. its not where the car can go.l its where the driver is able to take it.... more vids please.....
Great Video guys, would you be able to share how to find these routs?

BikeLugger when you up next il meet you up there lol
Let's make a jimny club lol
@@experttrolltrollingdirty2062 what colours URS?
Those off road lanes are much better than the roads here in north Devon. You could loose a Jimny In our pot holes.
also nice vid
😀
Thanks!
which tires u use on Jimmy + auto or manual?
I had standard Jimny size Maxxis Trepadors and Mark had some slightly larger than spec BFG All Terrains.
Oh, both manual cars.
Is this beast having challenges Or the problem is the driver?
It still surprises me just how JIMNY'S get everywhere with a 2 inch lift n tyres,
They are 1 of the best jeeps money can buy.
Shame they not a diesel, unless you get a import.
Brilliant video tho..
If you want mud go grantham
Jimny Off-road & landrovers They are impressive! The chap in my car was very sceptical of them at first. This day convinced him just how good they can be.
@@BikeLugger
Check our nights out
That will convince him,

Jimny Off-road video is blocked for me (I’m UK) because of the songs on it. Can’t watch it at all.
Wow Great vid👍sub👍 Do you now easy lanes in this area? I would start driving with my family. I have Jeep Grand Cherokee 2006 lifted 2".its my daily so I dont want ruin him😅
Cheers man! There are lots of lanes in the lakes. Check out some of my other videos like the Full length Lane playlist to get a feel for what the terrain is like on the lanes.
As always I recommend joining the GLASS. It supports keeping lanes open for sensible 4x4 use and gives you access to mapping showing where all the legal lanes are with user comments so you get an idea what to expect on each lane.
Hi amazing video I want to try this lane in my jimny, do you have the TWUID reference please? Thank you once again
Hi,
The main lane overlooking Coniston Water is SD2989-02. It's much different now, the worst bits have been 'improved' with a coating of gravel last time I drove it.
@@BikeLugger That's a shame the council cannot improve the lanes obstructed by overgrown foliage or remove illegal obstructions instead of improvements nobody wants or needs.
Not even sure my 57 Rav 4 could tackle what your Jimnys did. Well impressed!! Great little cars and good fun as well. Why did you have to get rid of your 05 plate Jimny?
Thanks, they’re a proper little light 4x4, not to be underestimated!
I’d initially bought it as a cheap toy to ship to Iceland and have fun in before and after the trip. When the trip was cancelled this year I used the holiday money (and a bit more) to get a Disco 3. As great as the Jimny was, it’s main limitation for overlanding is its size. The better half works hard the rest of the year so likes a bit of comfort. The more we did in the Jimny made me realise she was only just tolerating its small size and bouncy ride. Throw camping gear for a few weeks in the back and it’s suddenly very cramped, not a fun holiday. The Disco is capable, really comfortable and massive inside. Add a roof tent and it’s a palace. As much as I wanted to keep the Jimny I couldn’t justify/afford two ‘toy’ cars so it had to go. It’s found a good home in north Wales with someone who’s already modded it with bigger wheels, a body lift, mahoosive light bar on the roof and a chopped bumper up front. It looks mint.
@@BikeLugger Yes, that's why I bought the Rav 4,rather than a Jimny. I wanted some space and comfort as well and just couldn't see me getting that in the little thing. Still love em though!! Take care and enjoy the disco.
Are the engines standard or are they mapped etc? Also what size engines are they? Great little jeep!! Very impressed!!
Standard engines in both although I think Marks makes a little bit more power than mine did. 1.3l four cylinder. Not all that exciting on the road, but enough power to get them where they need to go off-road.
They are fun little things. Sad to see mine go, but enjoying its replacement., even if it is a little bit bigger...
@@BikeLugger I just found your channel and subscribed I'm just watching you guys in the snow it looks so much fun wherever you go. What is your new 1 discount you get à new jimny? There fantastic for 1.3 ltr even the defender came a cropper and you guys powered on. I want 1 so bad. Did you raise it at all or just standard size bfgoodrigh tyres on? They have blown my mind with what they can do 🤯 Stay safe mate thank you for the reply so quickly. Have fun!!!
Tough little things. I want one!
They are a great laugh!
What's configuration grey jimny? Lift? Tire size?
It's on slightly bigger than standard BFG AT tyres, not sure of the exact size sorry. At the time of recording this it had no lift, but Mark has since lifted it 2".
It didn't look as if anyone used 4wd low, as you can go down hill without braking at all, & keeping better control. 🤔
My thoughts, too. The difficulty on the rocks seemed strange given I've sailed over much worse in a Jimny as long as I used low ratio.
Small but TERRIBLE ! SUAVE 4X4 here. ✌️💖🎸

Any mods except tyres?
My black one had a 2 inch suspension lift. Marks grey one was standard height at the time, but had oversized BFG tyres.
