- Mac OS System 8 was a huge step up from previous mac systems and I'm sure Diana would find using it a piece of cake, but... What about Ben? Stick around long enough after he fumbles around the UI to see some other mac software from the late 90s too!

This was completely unintentional though as I originally was going to get Diana to try out Archicad 5.0 or Bryce 4.0 but due to issues with the software, I cancelled the advanced video and just made this instead. Keep watching though as we do show off Archicad and Bryce later on in the video.

Firstly, I don’t get a notification for last video, and now I get automatically UNSUBBED from a child friendly channel! Had it not been for this showing up on the home page, I probably would’ve never known I was unsubbed. TH-cam needs to get their act together.

Does anybody know where I can find a working version of sheepshaver? Because all of the ones I find have errors with them...
Remember there are quite a few steps in setting it up and files you require such as the GUI/option (separate from the exe) then you have to use the GUI to link the rom, create a hard drive file for mac os to be installed from/boot off etc, I would make an easy package myself for you guys to download and run without any setup required but I'm not allowed to distribute the files unfortunately.

I remember using this OS on my dads old Powerbook and our old Bondi Blue iMac when I was a veeeery young child. Like I was just barely talking and walking. Good times.
Edit: your mom wanting to be an architect reminds me of a story my maternal grandmother told me. She wanted to be a mechanical engineer. Her college told her that was not a woman's job, (this was in the 50s, the world was different then lol) and she went into bookkeeping instead. She regrets not getting her college advisor to fight for her

Wessel its also interesting to note that many women had programming jobs in the 70s and 80s when women had more office and clerical jobs. also many typists prior to that had naturaly progressed to computing jobs. its just in recent times the industry has been unfortunately more biased towards males.
Why did the other normal OSFirstTimer videos also have the OSFirstTimer Advanced intro for a long time? I have not seen the normal intro for a very long time now.

I always wanted to know what that bar at the bottom of the screen was for on Classic Mac OS and I kept thinking about the Touch Bar when you said that it was called the Control Strip because the section of the Touch Bar where you change the brightness, volume and activate Siri is called the Control Strip
