The Big Turtle Day & Return Day Home Mackinac Island Trip 2023 | Michigan Adventures |

It’s Mackinac Island day so we decided to wake up and head over to Darrow’s family restaurant was a nice breakfast. And then we headed over to the Shepler’s, Mackinac Island ferry it was hot, and the sun was out, luckily to have a little area where you can go in and sit in the shade while you wait for your ferry to show up. The kids were a little restless on ferry ride over but overall I had a nice boat ride. Once we get off the ferry, the kids put out all the horses they could see we are not leaving the main Street area and over to the park that was placed in front of Fort Mackinac. The kids were a little annoyed by all the traveling they got a little overstimulated, but they cool down later that afternoon. We stopped in the stores. We also found out bringing a kid scooter around the island Main Street area is illegal because it can startle the horses. So we folded it up and put it inside the shop we stopped at turtle distillery for lunch had some great beer and some wonderful food our oldest fell asleep. We ended up taking the long walk up the hill to the grand hotel it is the first time ever been on Mackinac Island. My wife had been there in over 15 years. It was just great to see how big the hotel was around was wonderful. The grounds around the grand hotel were wonderful flower areas mini golf even had a dirt bike track for kids. Unfortunately, my oldest learned about gravity and went down the hill too fast scooter at a little accident. We ended up walking around a little bit more the island that’s some ice cream and just enjoyed the moment traveling with two small children can be challenging, but we made the best of it. We ended up heading back to our hotel and I’m getting some pizza for tonight and got to watch a firework show from our deck. The following morning, we ended up packing up to get ready to go home. We headed over to St. Ignace for breakfast at a place called Bentley’s Cafe really good breakfast. After that before we headed back over the mighty Mac bridge we decided to head over to Lehto’s pasties got some hot ones for the road and loaded up on a bunch of frozen ones for later. Overall the trip was great. Had some stressful moments but we would love to come back up here maybe when the kids are a little bit more older but I know we enjoyed Mackinac Island and city once again sorry this is coming out almost a year later, but I hope you guys enjoyed our Mackinaw city trip of 2023.
