I am not a pilot and myself, nevewr will be, I am a 73 year old retired electoronic technician in the greater Montrreal area. (Only once did I get "Saaniched" in Sydney!) However I have a friend who has a commercial license he got iin the U.S. (although he is a Canadian). Unfortunatley he lost his chance in life to become an airline pilot, however he would love to do something with it for the latter years of his career. I think something like crop dusting, water bomber, regional or executive, but first he needs some added training on a limited budget and some "injected moral pep". I noticed that you also come from "The other side of the great divide" i.e., BC. Currently he is in Alberta (having originated in Quebec), but also has people close to him in BC. I will keep his name anonymous for now, too respewct his privacy, but if I catch a phone number that might reach you by way of oner of the flight schools etc. in your area, I might try to call up with some more details and questions, as he also had a second occupation that is mobile. Now let's see what "flies" here!
Hi Bruce, thanks for reaching out on behalf of your friend! If you want to have a phone chat I do offer private 1 on 1 coaching and mentoring. Its a small fee but can save you a lot of time and money in the long run. You can connect with me through Magnifi: kp34c.app.goo.gl/kY4aYhPaFD8jBWwYA
Hey, hows it been? did you complete your training ? What were the expenses? Can you share your experience ? i hope you see my comment as i am thinking the same
Another way of obtaining the helicopter pilots license is to be an interested employee of a helicopter company and take your training while part of your work compensation pays for your training. I worked in the parts department of Canada’s largest, at the time, helicopter company back in the mid 1970’s and more than a few got it that way!
Yes that type of sponsorship does exist, if you are fortunate to find someone who is willing to invest in you. Unfortunately people don’t stick around at one company for long enough to make that investment worth it anymore.
helpful video! It should be noted that you need to be a Canadian citizen to join the army to get a pilots license. In addition to this, I would recommend using a narrow lens for videos such as these simply because a wide angle lens highly distorts the subjects!
Hello, I am a successful 39 years old finance professional in Toronto and want to become a professional pilot in a commercial passenger airline. I have 3 questions for you please: 1. How much time it will take me to be able to fly a commercial passenger jet? 2. How much money is required for it? (ballpark) 3. If I joined a flight school/club at a regional airport I could possibly do it along with my full-time job for the time being? I am mentally and physically fitter than some of the people half my age.
Great questions Parijat, and I have actually made videos in all those topics. Check out my playlists as they should answer majority of your questions. 🙂
The subject that helps in aviation is math. Some integrated courses require grade 12 math or physics, so it’s best to have 1 of those. Some courses don’t require either, as long as you have all the subjects to graduate high school.
My path is #2. I study in South Korea. But I think the flight school in my country is pretty poor. So instructor job is not many. Once I graduate my aviation university I need to find a job in a flight school. So Canadian flight school can be an option. I heard that Canadian flight school provide the residence visa to foreign instructor pilots.
I haven’t heard that, but it’s possible. Some schools can hire you if you do your flight instructor rating with them and sponsor your work visa. But that’s rare
Hello, I am currently a grade 9 student and I was thinking about my career path and what job I would like to pursue. I love the thought of becoming a pilot, but I am still unclear of the process. If I were to become a pilot I’d want to fly commercially. Do I have to go to university after graduating highschool or can I go straight to flight school? How long would it take to graduate flight school? I live in Toronto, and was wondering if the competition to get into a flight school would be high, and if so should I apply elsewhere inside Ontario? Please do reply if you have the chance, thank you!
Thanks for making informative videos. It very helpful to know thjngs before making an entry. Any things you would advise to check prior finalizing any flight school for PPL ?
Great video. Quick question. How many flight hours do you think is required to get a decent first job. I was thinking of taking the bachelor of aviation technology course at Seneca. But having second thoughts because of the limited number of hours I will accumulate from the degree course itself
What is your definition of a decent first job? Until you get 500hrs you are only going to get ramp/dispatch/flying positions on a 206 or caravan. 500hrs is an insurance requirement for you to get into a Navajo or King air.
I do, there are many options, but I can’t go into specific companies here. I do offer private 1 on 1 coaching and can help with career strategy, how exactly to look for pilot jobs, writing a good resume, and interview prep. Its a small fee but can save you a lot of time and money in the long run. You can connect with me through Magnifi: kp34c.app.goo.gl/kY4aYhPaFD8jBWwYA.
I have two questions! Hows the job outlook for pilot? I'm concerned with job security, and demand for pilots in canada. I'm 20 years old, currently studying a business degree and is it wise to keep studying and be interested in being a pilot further down the line?
The pilot industry has never been hotter than it is now! Pilots are getting hired at the regionals with a 1000hrs when before it was 3000, and at mainline carriers with 2500hrs when before it was 5000. But there is no telling how long this surge will last, so you definitely want to get into this career for the right reasons. Have a look through my channel as I cover many topics about this career path 👍🏻
Hi I really appreciate your videos. I was hoping you could answer my question. Will I be less likely to get a job as a pilot if I get my licenses from a flight school rather then a college aviation program. Also, is it worth it to get a unrelated degree from a university if I were to get the licenses from a flight school?
It does not matter to companies how you got your license, as long as you a competent pilot with a good work ethic. University is only needed at the main airline level, but even they have relaxed some of their requirements with the pilot shortage. So, the cheapest way is to get it done at a flight school, go to university on the side if you can, and get your first flying job ASAP after getting your license. If you do have the cash, then you can go the aviation program way and it will be slightly faster, but more intense and stressful with a chance of failing if you have poor worth ethic. Hope that helps!
You are really helpful. I am am grade 7 student in Ontario and I really want to become I pilot so I started searching up and planning for my future live. What should I do as so as I leave high school should I go to college straight away or go to my local fight school because I have one near me then go to collage to learn more and build up more time and Knowledge
Go visit your local flight school now and get some information from them and go on a fam flight, really see if this career is for you. Watch my pilot pay video with your parents (the timeframe is cut in half currently then what I explain in the video) and have a discussion with them about finances. You can start flying at 14 so if you really want to be a pilot then the earlier the better. 👍🏻
I have a Patreon account for anyone who wants 1on1 mentoring and to talk to me personally about their career. www.patreon.com/AviatorInspirations If you are not quite ready to join the Patreon family, you can find a ton of free value on my TH-cam channel and Instagram. I get many messages each day and unfortunately I can’t give everyone a personalized coaching session, I hope you understand. I hope to see you in the Patreon chat room Gio!
So lets I take path #3. I get my ppl, Cpl, single and dual instrument rating, night rating and pass all my ground school tests with a good mark. Can I become an airline pilot then? And what are my chances of getting an airline pilot job. In some airline websites, they say we need like 2000 hours of 20 tons or greater MTOW. How is that achieved? If its ok with you, can you share what flight school you attended and what airline you work for now. And do you about Toronto Airways flight school, and have any idea of it being bad or good? btw, great video and keep it up.
Thanks for the great feedback! After getting all your licenses, no you dont go straight to an airline. My whole "Getting a Job as a Pilot" playlist will guide you through all the different steps: th-cam.com/video/oqW33x_vDWQ/w-d-xo.html. I did all my training in the Vancouver lower mainland, and I have a video on how to pick a flight school, check that out as well. I dont recommend any specific flight school as they all have to teach to the same standard, but the video should help pick which is right for you.
Do you think that if one day, I want to fly for air canada, I should attend post secondary? I am at this tough point of where I don’t know if I should go to post secondary or straight to flight school after high school.
I would always recommend it, and there is no reason you can’t do both. Also consider the aviation diploma. It’s useless for life, but is the piece of paper AC wants. If you want something useful, get a business degree while you flight train. Might take longer, but at least you have a proper degree that can help you with life in the future. Always have a backup plan 👍🏻
Aviation college teaches both, diploma program or an integrated program, depending on what you want. It’s worth for some people of they don’t care about what kind of diploma they get, otherwise real post secondary is better
Hi , 😀 is the time building is counted in pilot experience. For example , If an hours job requirement is 3000 TT , does this mean that you need just 2000 hours as a pilot plus 1000 builded hours
Total time is the total hours of flying you have, it doesn’t matter how you accumulated them. If a job requires 3000TT the only way to get there is having a pilot job, nobody builds 1000hrs, you work as a pilot to get those hours.
do i need a grade 12 university credit to get a bachelors degree in aviation technology, because i want to become an airline pilot or can i just take applied cause i'm struggling to pass grade 10 academic which math credit do i need because it is literally my worst subject
It all depends if you want to go to an aviation college, or just follow the modular route. Grades don’t matter if you want to become a pilot without post secondary, but if you want post secondary then of course how you do in high school is important. Check out my channel for other videos on getting your pilots licenses.
Get some tutor help to help improve your math. Check all potential tutors, as costs can vary greatly. I was very poor in math in late primary school and early secondary school, however, started to 'see the light' in late high school and my early college years. Ended-up obtaining an ocean-going (marine) navigator's certificate, some subjects, of which required the use of spherical trigonometry (among other math tools). I exelled at this. Best of luck to you & 'Godspeed'! If not the airlines, there's always opportunities in flying in the Canadian bush.
If you are young enough you can join the Cadets and they also fly gliders. Plus, you can get sponsored to do your PPL through them, its something you can look into. If you really want to serve in the military, really make sure you are OK staying there if you don't pass the flight training program, as its really tough. Here is the info I found on their recruitment website: www.forces.ca/en/job/pdf/pilot-32 Hope this helps, good luck!
Not really, as long as you have a high school diploma, the subjects are not as important. Of course being good at math is helpful in this career, and having good problem solving skills is an important requirement
They are helpful to learning certain skills like systems, flows, and basic things. But I wouldn’t use them to learn to fly, that’s what the real airplane is for👍🏻
The military constantly needs pilots it’s not like trying to get accepted to Harvard if you want to be a pilot in the military then it’s not that hard if you study and work hard. It’s easier through the military because you can get your schooling paid for aswell as your flight training
Hi sorry but is there any possibility to work in Canada i am already a commercial pilot in Argentina and Ecuador, if there is a way can you tell me please and maybe how much it will cost ? Thanks
You can if you become a permanent resident of Canada, and do your license conversions. Conversions will cost $5000+ because you have to write the exams and pass the flight tests
Hi I'm currently 25 right now and I'll be done with my bachelor's degree in criminology by next year...is it possible for me to start over again for flying college at the age of 26....or is it too late? Btw after 4 yrs of college, how long do I need to train or how many hours should I fly to be a commercial pilot...pls let me know
Hello! Because you have post secondary, you don’t really need a flight college, you can just find an accelerated 2yr pilot program. Flight colleges do offer those, but most attach a diploma with it, so you would have to find a college without a diploma program. 26 is definitely not too late. Most of your questions will be answered if you watch my learn to fly playlist and finding a pilot job playlist👍🏻
I do, but the school has changed hands several time and is completely different then when I trained 15yrs ago, so it wouldn’t be an accurate representation and shouldn’t influence your decision at picking the right school for you
Hi, it's me again 😅 ( Btw sorry to bother you with my numerous question ) .is it possible To get a FI job with temporary residence or i must have a permanent residence? **NB : I am planning to study a certificate in canada and i will work there after graduation. Then i Will start getting my ppl, cpl ...cfi until becoming a permanent resident and then i Will apply for a FI job ( if a FI job requires a permanent residence)
That would be a questions for the part of government that issues you a temporary residence. I don’t know if you can work with that, or whether you need a work visa.
Am I supposed to be Canadian before I apply for a job in any small Canadian airlin? Note : I'm international student and I want to be a flight instructor in Canada
Hello Aviator Inspirations, I want to get into an Airline and Flight Operation Program. One of the Pre-Requisites is having "related experience".Can you clarify what the program means by this and how I might be able to achieve it? Thank you.
So it says “preference” will be given to those with related experience. There is no requirement to have it. However, you need your PPL to enter this program, so that’s related experience if you will. It’s just fancy words for making the program sound more special than it is. What’s your reason for wanting to take it?
Yes you can 👍🏻! Take a look through my Learn to Fly playlist for other related videos that will help you make a plan and get more familiar with the process
Hi there I have a bachelor's degree and post secondary 3 years diploma in business I m a canadain citizen I m 32 is it suitable for me to start? Do I have to study or just take training?
If you are a Canadian or have a permanent residency then yes you can👍🏻. I also have another video about modular vs integrated training you should check out.
@@AviatorInspirationsTank you, I am a Canadian, I was worrying about if those ppl graduate from the college will have advantages than the 3rd path. Btw, I love your videos and I feel so exciting right now! Thanks for your reply.
Having a diploma won’t help you land the first job, it literally comes down to hard work and hustling. I have a video on how to find your first job as well👍🏻. Glad you find my content helpful 😀
Hi, after getting all pilot certificates and after building time as Flight Instructor , and by getting for myself an A320 or B737 type rating ,is it possible To get a first officer job in those aircafts directly?
No, in Canada you cannot buy type ratings. To get these job you need 5000+ of flight time, there are no shortcuts. After building 1000hrs as a flight instructor, you get a regional job, 3-4yrs there and then you can have a chance to fly these aircraft.
Yes, but it’s a little more complicated than that. First it’s the air force that you should be researching, not the army. Then, they have quite a strict selection process, and you have to apply with a private pilot’s license from what I remember. Plus you have to finish 4yrs at Kingston college and serve for a minimum of 11yrs if you are selected for pilot. So yes, everything is paid for, BUT to make it through the pilot selection process is very hard, and if you don’t make it you still have to serve for a number of years to pay off your education. Hope that helps!
Currently going into my second year as a pilot candidate for the RCAF. Just going to clarify a few things. You don't require a PPL or any flying experience to apply. Phase one starts from the ground up whether you've flown or not. And the method you are explaining is the ROTP entry program through RMC Kingston. You can also apply as a direct entry candidate if you already have a bachelor's degree from any Canadian university. I however didn't do either, there is a new accelerated entry program only a few years old where you get accepted just after highschool, and rather than go to RMC for four straight years and then begin flight training, you instead go back and forth between phases of flight training and Seneca college in Toronto working on a Bachelor's in Aviation Technologies. Anyone considering it I encourage you to as this last year of my life has been incredibly rewarding, however like he mentioned, getting accepted is very tough in itself and a long process.
Fantastic, thanks for the clarification! A lot has changed since I lived in cold lake, I was a flight instructor at the regional airport. I’m glad to hear that they re-structured their training a little better and it sounds more balanced. I remember cadets coming in and wanting to rent the aircraft because it would be 1-2yrs before the next stage started and they didn’t want to loose all their skill. The Air Force must be feeling the shortage of applicants like the airlines are, sounds like they are all using the same tactics to recruit future pilots. I wish you best of luck in your training! Are you hoping for jet or cargo?
This program you entered, was that the CEOTP program? I'm almost 22 years old and I very much want to become a pilot for the RCAF before it's too late, but I have no interest in any of the other roles in the Air Force. However, all I have is my GED. I do however have my Private Pilot License and I have a bit of glider experience back in New Zealand so I've always had an interest in flying. If there is anywhere I can contact you about this that would be much appreciated!
Hello, I just recently stumbled across your videos. I am currently in 11th grade in Canada and want to peruse a career as a pilot. I had just recently made this decision so I’m am not sure if I have not taken any courses which will stop me from becoming one. I eventually want to become a airline pilot In BC Vancouver( though I am from Manitoba). I was hoping you could answer a few questions... What courses do I need to take in high school? What marks should I achieve In those courses. And since I am going to another province, how much should I be making a year to pay for my tuition and living? Thank you.
Hello and welcome to the community! All good questions! You should watch My “learn to fly” playlist and “getting a pilot job” playlist first, they will give you a basic foundation of this career. As for high school, math and physics are always beneficial and strive for as high of marks as possible. There are no specific subjects that you need for aviation, but having good marks will give you more options for your future and post secondary education.
Aviator Inspirations Will do! I am just overwhelmed by all the videos I have seen so far talking about the pay and how long it takes to climb the ranks. Since I am moving province, I will have to pay for my living and flight school (while getting some financial help from family). Is it possible to work a job during your training, if you are training an ideal 2-3 times a week?
You don’t have to move provinces to train, there are schools all across Canada. Yes it’s possible to work, depending if you take the modular or integrated course
Hi I am a 29 years old Egyptian pharmacist have a long term goal to work for a major airline in the US (delta). so I decided to take the fast track 2 year program of ATP flight school. but my main concern is that I have a 5 year degree in pharmacy here in Egypt and it needs to be equalized first to the American one to work as a pharmacist in the US.I heard that I will not be able to wok for a major airline like delta without a minimum of 4 year university degree which I have but it is from cairo. So my main question is should I equalise this degree first to work as a commercial pilot for major airlines? .what worth noting is that the process of transforming this degree to the American one is a difficult and long process full of exams then I will not use the degee itself except for being hired by delta!! if any one just tell that they will accept the egyption one, I will be more than happy😊
That’s a challenging question! I am not familiar with US airlines or what degrees they need to work for them. In Canada you don’t need one, only air canada prefers one. Many people find it difficult to convert their degrees in North America, and unfortunately there is no easy way, you have to write the exams and almost repeat the schooling. Is it worth it? That’s up to you! First clarify which airlines for sure require a degree, and which ones don’t. Perhaps it’s easier finding an airline that doesn’t require a degree. You can always email all the recruitment departments and maybe get an answer if they will accept the Egyptian degree or not. Good luck!
Aviator Inspirations I see that it says 3-4 year degree. Can we do it in any type of area? Also will getting a degree give me preference over other people who don’t have degrees for regionals?
Yes it can be in any area, but I’ve heard of them accepting pilots with just diplomas. However if your goal is to fly for them, then getting a degree is best. No, a degree will not give you preference at finding your first job or a regional job, only hours matter at the lower levels.
Aviator Inspirations Arsh Ghuman I’ve actually gotten a chance to connect with some AC pilots via Instagram! Most of which told me they don’t have a degree or anything. No post secondary. They went through flight school and went to Jazz and got to flow into first officer positions at AC. I don’t think it’s really required honestly. It surely helps when applying though!
Yes exactly, they post their requirements, but at the end of the day, if they need pilots they will hire without post secondary. When the pilot shortage ends, post secondary will be another box you have to check on the application.
So... I want to be a pilot but can't find any colleges that I like. I found CAE, in Oxford thought. I want to become a pilot in Canada. Is it hard to transition an ATPL license in Canada? I also saw that most jobs in Canada require an aviation degree. Do you think going to CAE will be enough to be a pilot in Canada? Thank you.
Are you a pilot currently? To convert you international ATPL you need to do a license conversion, so email transport Canada for that info. Next, only air canada requires a degree, no other airline or company in Canada does, so that info is not quite accurate. Also, there are a ton of aviation colleges in Canada, what exactly don’t you like about them? If you are a licensed pilots, you don’t need an aviation college.
@@AviatorInspirations Thank you! I want to become a pilot. I'm 14 yrs old. I'm aiming to become a pilot at Air Canada. It's not that I don't like any colleges but I found one (CAE) In Europe. I think it's one of the best...
What do you think of CAE? Do you think I'll be able to make a career in Air Canada or West Jet? Looking forward to flight as a first officer with you..
I get this question often, and no! I fly with many people who changed careers in their 30’s, and currently with the pilot shortage there is no better time in my honest opinion. If you can get your licenses done in 2yrs, take another 2yrs to build 1000hrs, then you will be at the regionals in Canada in 4-5yrs. 3rd yr regional captain makes $80k. More days away from home at the regionals, but it’s a livable wage. If you want to pursue corporate, that is also a great direction with good income. Less flying and time away from home, but you are always on call. Pro’s and Con’s to both. Check out my other videos about the pilot career for more info👍🏻
@@AviatorInspirations Thanks for the reply!! do you think i have a realistic chance at getting into the airline at a late start with age, obviously after working up the ladder.
Getting in is no problem, it just depends how long you want to grind up the ladder. You will be at a regional about 5yrs, then you get to the mainline and take a pay cut, then about 10yrs to get to captain again. Retirement age is 65 at the airlines, then if you want to keep flying you have to find a lower tiered job (corporate, charter etc).
Post finishing pilot training, you recommend becoming and instructor to build yours, or fly up north. which route would be faster. and add valuable experience? to get into the regionals?
Hi there, i work for air Canada in Toronto ground handler for 6 years and I’m 36 years old. I really would love to be a pilot. Do you think I’m too old to go for it at this stage of my life?!
Hey! No you’re not too old, but you should have a different game plan than most. Airlines are all about seniority, so because you are starting late, it might not be the best option. If you are done by age 40, you theoretically have 25yrs to fly till 65, but can you afford to climb up the seniority ladder and low pay? What would be more enjoyable is finding a spot in the middle, either air ambulance or corporate flying. Both pay well and you don’t spend too much time away from family. Check out my pilot pay video, that might help you make a decision👍🏻 PS: I don’t know how AC’s seniority system works, but look into whether you can keep your seniority number while working ground part time and finish your flight training, then keep working ground part time until you get hired as a pilot and perhaps you won’t loose your retirement flight benefits. Versus if you quit, and you want to fly for AC in the future, can you come back to your old seniority?
You apply like normal if you want to immigrate to Canada. That is not my expertise so I can’t help you there. Contact Canadian immigrations for more information👍🏻
Hello! Is there any update for 2019 on other ways to become a pilot in Canada? Hopefully I will be in Canda the next month as a Resident (in Gods will). Am I going to be allowed for a student loan and enroll to a College so that I can get a Degree for better chance for me landing a Jet Pilot Career. I don't have any degree right now. I am a HS graduate and i'm 24 but I am willing to work my ass off to become a pilot. Thanks in advance!
The ways how to become a pilot have not changed for the past 30yrs, you just have to pick the path that works for you. To get a student loan in Canada, you have to be a permanent resident. You should check out my modular vs integrated video👍🏻
@@AviatorInspirations okay I will check it out. I will have my Permanent Resident Visa by the next 2-3 weeks and will be in Surrey as soon as I get my Visa. So hopefully I can fulfill my goal! And I would just like to ask if it's true that Canada has a some sort of a pilot shortage? Cause my wife's aunt got a chance to sit next to a West Jet Pilot 2 weeks ago in a flight going to Toronto and that pilot happens to be a Filipino too just like me. She asked him about his background and how did he became a pilot, and the pilot told her that he was back then just a High Schoold graduate in the Phils then he went to Canada and studied aviation. But she never got the chance to ask if he loaned or something or what path did he take, but the pilot told her that becoming a pilot in Canada was "easy". Not to mention the pilot was in his mid or late 20's. He also told my aunt in law that Canada will need 950+ pilots by next year. What the pilot said to my aunt in law made my hopes up. Hopefully, I will get the chance to study by my 25's or 26's so that I will not be too old becoming an airline pilot.
Hi Aviator, I had a question (answer if you see this xD) I am actually from England. I am doing my A- Levels rn. (equivalent to 11th and 12th Grade of Canada). By the time I complete my A-Levels, I will have a "permanent resident" status in Canada. Now, the real question is I'll have my previous education from country elsewhere of Canada but I am already a permanent citizen of Canada. So, am I considered a domestic student or an international student. Lmk if you have any idea to this. Love.
Can an international student come to Canada, get his training done from Zero to Class 4 Flight Instructor and then start his journey of becoming a Flight Instructor, Regional FO, CA, Major FO(First Officer) and finally Major Airlines CA (Captain)? I am asking this in terms of immigration (visa) & airline requirements (not financial requirements or personal drive/motivation).
Yes you totally can! If you get a training visa, then permanent resident or a work visa, then you will be able to work as a pilot in Canada no problem.
Aviator Inspirations Thanks for your quick & informative reply. Also can you suggest a good province & flight school for international students? I'm currently leaning towards Ontario in terms of weather & Flight school's who are assigned as Designated Learning Institute by CIC (meaning they can legally sponsor (visa wise) & teach international students).
I don’t have any specific schools I suggest. Ontario is a good province, cold, but more sunny days than BC for example. BC has lots of international students, and the weather warmer, but cost of living higher.
I don't think particular schools have anything setup for financial aid, but they will usually help you with any paperwork required for gov aid. Best is to contact each school directly and get them to refer you to someone who might be able to help. Google has lots of information, plus check on the unemployment gov website as they have some financial aid as well. Hope this helps!
am over 25 yrs and want to be an airline pilot fast. am not rich and live in USA I have some questions I hope u would answer me or any person who can help soon 1) how long does it take to finish military pilot program (from joining military to graduating the program to being free...civilian) assuming am selected 2)After military, is it guarantee to become commercial airline pilot flying the long flights or do I have to kiss ass for little pay (what position am I likely to get after military)?
Hello Sir! What do you think About CAE flight school in Toronto any idea how much they cost from beginning to Cpl and any requirements to get seat from that school?
i have a few questions: 1) how stressful is being pilot? and the path to becoming a pilot? 2) whats the average salary? 3) is the path to becoming a pilot different in quebec? 4) how much does it impact your daily life? (time with family, working out, hobbies, etc.) thank you
I’m sorry but I can’t answer that question for you, it’s something you have to figure out for yourself and your finances. Watch my playlist on “Learn to Fly”
Hey I'm 16 right now, going to 11th grade (high school) I have 2 years left. I started thinking about being a pilot and I think it's the job I want it and the job I'll like. I live in the USA. I'm taken Physics, English, and math right now, and ofc Chemistry. I passed English, math and geometry last year (th10 grade) I did really good. If I keep it up and I get A's or B's On all the subjects I said above, will I be able to be a pilot? If yes then do i still need to go to college and study Math, Physics, and science? Please help me! Thank you.
There are no specific grade requirements to become a pilot, flight schools don’t look at grades, you just show up, pay money, and learn to fly. If you want to go to a flight college, they do look at grades to thin out the competition. If you do regular flight training and post secondary on your own, then of course grades matter to enter a good university and study something useful in life like business, which is something everyone I think needs, a post secondary diploma in a useful and practical field (business, entrepreneur, etc). Always focus on good grades to give you options in life later and you won’t get stuck if you need to change course plans or career
If you are wanting to seriously pursue this profession, start with my playlist Learn to Fly th-cam.com/play/PLy8Rb6qM39MRvxPTk9ySOI4uibuGhYazh.html. Then I would find a local flight school and go for a familiarization flight.
Aviator Inspirations thank you so much, I'll watch more of your videos right now to understand more. Been thinking about pilot for a months now and I am really into it. One more question so when I'm done with high school (in 2 years) what's better to go to pilot school (and you already have money for it, because my dad said he will pay and ofc I work and pay) or to go to college and take Physics, math, and science "biology"?
You can do both. I went to school for aircraft maintenance while I was learning to fly, just so I could have a diploma. So go to college for a diploma or degree, and do flight training at the same time on weekends or days you don’t have school. I started flying at 16, so you don’t have to wait until you graduate high school
Aviator Inspirations but if I do college and pilot school, wouldn't it be hard? Wouldn't they want the degree or diploma so they know I am good? Or when i apply for a pilot job I show them the degree?
I always recommend in person ground school, as you have the opportunity to get your questions answered better. However online ground schools have evolved a lot and if you have access to instructors via zoom then it might be an option.
Toronto has a ton of schools, so just go on google to find them all, go visit them in person, and decide which you like best. I also have a video on how to pick a flight school
That’s an advanced topic I’m not familiar with, transport Canada will be where you need to start, because they might have different requirements depending on country. Sorry I can’t be more helpful
Do I have to be Canadian to work for airline in Canada iam from Egypt , so what is the process if I study and graduate from avation collage in Canada ?!
Hey i am interested in becoming a pilot. Do you have any advice for someone who would want to become a free lance pilot? I have a vast network of people living in remote northern reservations, and there is no shortage of freight and elders looking for a safe trip into the city's for doctors appointments and such. I have the vision but how far out is this idea? what kind of plane do you suggest after obtaining a commercial pilot license? Is there legal issues for private rides and freight for profits? Is it possible to make profits off of a rental to get myself started? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Nothing is easy in aviation, but I would say yes, currently is “easier” to find a flight instructor job. But you will still have to hustle and potentially move for the opportunity👍🏻. I have a video on how to find your first pilot job if you want to check that out.
i dont think your face is close enough to the camera
Lol that is one of my very first few videos on TH-cam, my production has since improved 😛
I laughed a lot ahahahahahahahahah
You're actually really helpful. Thanks for making videos and keep them coming!
Thank you Jirom, I really appreciate the feedback!
I am not a pilot and myself, nevewr will be, I am a 73 year old retired electoronic technician in the greater Montrreal area. (Only once did I get "Saaniched" in Sydney!)
However I have a friend who has a commercial license he got iin the U.S.

Why am I here when my mom forced me to be a doctor??
Cause I like him and watching this video makes me feel motivated somehow

What makes difference in career by choosing option 2 and 3. Because 2 seems to be little competitive and harder.
Step 2 you do it in a shorter time and get a diploma with it, some programs even have a frozen ATPL. Step 3 you do everything on your own
great vidoes, but would you mind not putting ur face so close to the camera. I can hear u breathe while u talk
Thank you for the candid feedback! I have since improved my camera gear and am creating much better videos. Thanks for watching!
Great video!! I loved the flight!
Thanks, stay tuned for more!
On student visa?
Thank you very much..
Check out my other videos about the career 🙂
1:53-1:56 can anyone tell me what might the subjects be?
Is the mic inside your body? Great video tho :)
Lol it’s my startup setup, the videos got better from here, I think 😛 haha
Hello, I am currently a grade 9 student and I was thinking about my career path and what job I would like to pursue. I love the thought of becoming a pilot, but I am still unclear of the process. If I were to become a pilot I’d want to fly commercially. Do I have to go to university after graduating highschool or can I go straight to flight school? How long would it take to graduate flight school? I live in Toronto, and was wondering if the competition to get into a flight school would be high, and if so should I apply elsewhere inside Ontario? Please do reply if you have the chance, thank you!
Hello! All those questions will be answered if you watch my Learn to Fly playlist. I have a video covering most of those topics. So start there 👍🏻
Thanks
Hi! Could you describe the way for foreign pilot with ICAO ATPL license? Or maybe you know guys who did it? Thanks
Contact Transport Canada licensing and request information for a license conversion 👍🏻
Aviator Inspirations ok, that makes sense. Do you have any opinion or info about the job scope right after completing flight school/college
I do, there are many options, but I can’t go into specific companies here.
Aviator Inspirations ThankYou! You are so helpful.
You are welcome👍🏻
If you do get your licenses thru airforce, will you be able to later on work for commercial airlines like aircanada etc?
Yes you can👍🏻
You are really helpful.

I have a video on how to find a flight school that might be useful 🙂
Check out my International Pilot Training video 👍🏻 International Pilot Training in Canada

Is aviation college different? Is it worth going there or post secondary?
Aviation college teaches both, diploma program or an integrated program, depending on what you want. It’s worth for some people of they don’t care about what kind of diploma they get, otherwise real post secondary is better
Hi , 😀 is the time building is counted in pilot experience. For example , If an hours job requirement is 3000 TT , does this mean that you need just 2000 hours as a pilot plus 1000 builded hours
Total time is the total hours of flying you have, it doesn’t matter how you accumulated them. If a job requires 3000TT the only way to get there is having a pilot job, nobody builds 1000hrs, you work as a pilot to get those hours.
do i need a grade 12 university credit to get a bachelors degree in aviation technology, because i want to become an airline pilot or can i just take applied cause i'm struggling to pass grade 10 academic
which math credit do i need because it is literally my worst subject
It all depends if you want to go to an aviation college, or just follow the modular route. Grades don’t matter if you want to become a pilot without post secondary, but if you want post secondary then of course how you do in high school is important. Check out my channel for other videos on getting your pilots licenses.
@@AviatorInspirations how can I become a pilot?
Get some tutor help to help improve your math. Check all potential tutors, as costs can vary greatly. I was very poor in math in late primary school and early secondary school, however, started to 'see the light' in late high school and my early college years. Ended-up obtaining an ocean-going (marine) navigator's certificate, some subjects, of which required the use of spherical trigonometry (among other math tools). I exelled at this.
Best of luck to you & 'Godspeed'!
If not the airlines, there's always opportunities in flying in the Canadian bush.
Thx I love it and I want to become a pilot and I just fly glider what do you need to join the military
If you are young enough you can join the Cadets and they also fly gliders. Plus, you can get sponsored to do your PPL through them, its something you can look into. If you really want to serve in the military, really make sure you are OK staying there if you don't pass the flight training program, as its really tough. Here is the info I found on their recruitment website: www.forces.ca/en/job/pdf/pilot-32
Hope this helps, good luck!
Iss maths and physics is mandatory to have in 12th for pilot in air Canada
Not really, as long as you have a high school diploma, the subjects are not as important. Of course being good at math is helpful in this career, and having good problem solving skills is an important requirement
@@AviatorInspirations like air Canada does not require maths and physics for the job as a pilot
No, they require a diploma or degree, for which you might need those subjects
@@AviatorInspirations diploma or degree like of which subjects.....?
What about using simulations to learn ?.
They are helpful to learning certain skills like systems, flows, and basic things. But I wouldn’t use them to learn to fly, that’s what the real airplane is for👍🏻

Hi. Which ielts should i take for Canadian study permit
Academic or general
Thanks
General IELTS, but ultimate check with the pilot training program you are wanting to join what their specific requirements are
Which flight school/Post Secondary School did you attend?
I did all my training at boundary bay airport, and for post secondary I attended BCIT for the aircraft maintenance engineer diploma
Like do you remember what your flight school was called possibly? The one at boundary bay airport
I do, but the school has changed hands several time and is completely different then when I trained 15yrs ago, so it wouldn’t be an accurate representation and shouldn’t influence your decision at picking the right school for you

**NB : I am planning to study a certificate in canada and i will work there after graduation. Then i Will start getting my ppl, cpl ...cfi until becoming a permanent resident and then i Will apply for a FI job ( if a FI job requires a permanent residence)

Alright
If you choose to go to the army, do they let you get all your ratings and licenses for free??
Yes, but it’s a little more complicated than that. First it’s the air force that you should be researching, not the army. Then, they have quite a strict selection process, and you have to apply with a private pilot’s license from what I remember. Plus you have to finish 4yrs at Kingston college and serve for a minimum of 11yrs if you are selected for pilot. So yes, everything is paid for, BUT to make it through the pilot selection process is very hard, and if you don’t make it you still have to serve for a number of years to pay off your education. Hope that helps!
Aviator Inspirations thanks
What marks should
I achieve In those courses.
Aviator Inspirations Could you go more in depth of what modular of integrated courses are?
I’ll put it on my list for a future video👍🏻
Hi
I am a 29 years old Egyptian pharmacist have a long term goal to work for a major airline in the US (delta). so I decided to take the fast track 2 year program of ATP flight school. but my main concern is that I have a 5 year degree in pharmacy here in Egypt and it needs to be equalized first to the American one to work as a pharmacist in the US.I heard that I will not be able to wok for a major airline like delta without a minimum of 4 year university degree which I have but it is from cairo.
Good luck!
thank you very much for your concern
No problem, good luck in your training!

After completing the course can i apply in any canadian flight company??
Only if you have a work visa (hard to get) or become a permanent resident
@@AviatorInspirations thank so so much for your kind information
CAE is in Europe, so it’s a different license. Check out my video on pilot licenses 👍🏻
@@AviatorInspirations Will do... Thanks
He Can Become An Asmr TH-camr
Lol interesting idea
is it alright to start going to aviation school? at the age 33. you think there is age restriction .
Instructor is faster these days as they are in high demand
Check out my pilot pay video, that might help you make a decision👍🏻
PS: I don’t know how AC’s seniority system works, but look into whether you can keep your seniority number while working ground part time and finish your flight training, then keep working ground part time until you get hired as a pilot and perhaps you won’t loose your retirement flight benefits. Versus if you quit, and you want to fly for AC in the future, can you come back to your old seniority?
And if possible how i choose a right way to become a pilot, please sir ! I need help as a guidance
How can a international student be a Canadian citizen after getting the CPL?
You apply like normal if you want to immigrate to Canada. That is not my expertise so I can’t help you there. Contact Canadian immigrations for more information👍🏻
what are the best aviation college in canada?😐
I have a video coming out for international pilot training in Canada at the end of the month 👍🏻 it will hopefully answer your questions
Everything that pilot told your aunt is true👍🏻. Work hard, and you will definitely reach your goals of becoming a pilot!
Ok thanks
Hi Aviator, I had a question (answer if you see this xD)
I am actually from England.
Love.
hi, can you reply me with an update? Are you in any aviation programs right now? It'll be of great help to me.
Thanks in advance.
What questions about training do you have?
You have a category 1 medical right? If yes what is it like?
Every commercial pilot needs a Cat1 medical. It’s a simple exam, nothing to worry about 👍🏻
This is a good guide but I'm not even in grade 8 so I stick to simulaters
Nothing wrong with simulators! We get tested in real ones every 6 months lol
Start young and save up!
Exactly, big bonus coming out of training is having zero or very minimal debt!
DaReal benjidabos same
Can an international student come to Canada, get his training done from Zero to Class 4 Flight Instructor and then start his journey of becoming a Flight Instructor, Regional FO, CA, Major FO(First Officer) and finally Major Airlines CA (Captain)?
Is there any flying skul near Toronto which provides financial help or govt aid for flying training??
I don't think particular schools have anything setup for financial aid, but they will usually help you with any paperwork required for gov aid. Best is to contact each school directly and get them to refer you to someone who might be able to help. Google has lots of information, plus check on the unemployment gov website as they have some financial aid as well. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the contribution, that’s good to know!
do you live in Vancouver
am over 25 yrs and want to be an airline pilot fast. am not rich and live in USA I have some questions I hope u would answer me or any person who can help soon
1) how long does it take to finish military pilot program (from joining military to graduating the program to being free...civilian) assuming am selected
2)After military, is it guarantee to become commercial airline pilot flying the long flights or do I have to kiss ass for little pay (what position am I likely to get after military)?
Hello Sir! What do you think About CAE flight school in Toronto any idea how much they cost from beginning to Cpl and any requirements to get seat from that school?
Hello I belong to India and and I have some personal questions form u to ask about the money requires and some more stuff
i have a few questions:
1) how stressful is being pilot? and the path to becoming a pilot?
2) whats the average salary?
3) is the path to becoming a pilot different in quebec?
4) how much does it impact your daily life? (time with family, working out, hobbies, etc.)

Aviator Inspirations. Thank you sir ( love from india)
can I still join a college aviation program if I didn't take physics in high school
Try you never know
What path did you go Aviator Inspirations?
I took path #3 and did it through a regular flight school. I was still in high school when I started so this was the easiest way for me to do it.
what is blinking?
Where?
I was referring to the fact that I don't think I saw you blink once during that whole 9mins. lol!
Hi! I'm form Turkey and ı want to become a commercial pilot.Wich one will be better for me a flight school or collage?
I’m sorry but I can’t answer that question for you, it’s something you have to figure out for yourself and your finances. Watch my playlist on “Learn to Fly”
ı want to know wich one would you prefer ıf you havent got problem about finances
I would still take the same path as I did when I started, the modular or pay as you fly route. Go to a flight school and start flying👍🏻
thanks alot :)
is there any schools that you advice? or you think wich is best?
I don’t recommend any schools as they all have to teach to the same standard. I do have a video on how to pick a flight school tho, check it out👍🏻
Hey I'm 16 right now, going to 11th grade (high school) I have 2 years left.
I did all my high school in India is it possible for me to join the aviation college.(i am permanant resident of Canada)
Yes of course! 👍🏻
@@AviatorInspirations is there any age limit
Airline pilots cannot fly past 65yrs
How about online ground school??? Is it worth it? I am in grade 12.
I always recommend in person ground school, as you have the opportunity to get your questions answered better. However online ground schools have evolved a lot and if you have access to instructors via zoom then it might be an option.
Do you know any flight school in toronto?
Toronto has a ton of schools, so just go on google to find them all, go visit them in person, and decide which you like best. I also have a video on how to pick a flight school
Im from Colombia im commercial pilot, im looking to convert my licence, any tip or advice? or maybe a video about it haha, thanks!
That’s an advanced topic I’m not familiar with, transport Canada will be where you need to start, because they might have different requirements depending on country. Sorry I can’t be more helpful
I found the link to get you started: www.tc.gc.ca/eng/civilaviation/opssvs/general-personnel-fore-1812.htm#airline

Hello sir, will I be offered if I take college math?
You always need math!
Do I have to be Canadian to work for airline in Canada iam from Egypt , so what is the process if I study and graduate from avation collage in Canada ?!
Yes you have to be a permanent resident work as a pilot in Canada. Check out my international pilot training video 👍🏻
What is the age limit to become a pilot
No age limit 👍🏻 but flying for the airlines max age is 65
Can a non canadian get training in canadian flying schools and get CPL from canada?
Hi, is it easy to find a cfi job in canada after getting all my pilot certificates (ppm, cpl, type rating and cfii )
Nothing is easy in aviation, but I would say yes, currently is “easier” to find a flight instructor job. But you will still have to hustle and potentially move for the opportunity👍🏻. I have a video on how to find your first pilot job if you want to check that out.
@@AviatorInspirations thanks i Will watch it
