Thanks Cameron ! Love your channel bro and wish you nothing but the best going forward. I’ve learned a bunch watching your videos , I own a 2014 a6 3.0t and I’m ready to start working on all that good stuff so learned watching you. Thank you
@@AudiC7Owners yo bro me too just got my Audi a6 too only thing is I’m going through oil fast im burning a quart every 300-400 miles you think this would help and would you recommend to just keep topping off or is there something I can do to help my consumption ?
If you use an engine additive to clean it, then absolutely. If you are just doing normal oil changes & stay on top of it, mixing new oil with that leftover bit won't harm anything.
Hey great video, I also do my oil change from the top and it akes oil changes a breeze. Just FYI harbor freight has a recall on that fluid extractor. I believe it has to do with the pressure relief valve not operating correctly at times and may cause the device to rise in excessive pressure and explode.
PSA- I ran into bad beginners luck after my first oil change. I didn’t torque the filter cap and only went a half turn past hand tightening. The oil sprayed everywhere towards the front fan. I’ll always make sure to use the torque wrench. I jiggle and move the extractor tube which helped get to the last half a liter. I measured the amount by pouring it back into the container.
Did you use 1 can and half of the other can for the engine flush you cut that part and also did you use 1 can and half of the other can for the motor oil saver ?
Some people do additional oil change, they say that even after you drain the old oil with flush, there is still some flush that stays in the engine and it will thin out the new oil, so they add cheap oil, run for few minutes, then drain it, then add good oil. I wanted to know what's your take on this? Have you experienced any oil thinning etc?
If you drain from the pan they're will not be a significant amount left in there. As long as you stay on top of your changes you don't need to worry about the residual leftover oil in the vehicle.
Camerooon! Great video!!! I better change my oil asap then, and drain fully. I have been using fluid extractor, decent amount remains at then end still. I also extract a bit from filter port by sticking extractor hose in there. Question Cam, have you used CERA TEC additive before? Thoughts on using that instead Motor Oil Saver? Also you can just dump the additive in 5-liter bottle and give a nice shake and then put in the motor.
If you don't have any oil consumption issues then I would use Cera Tec. If you have some oil consumption, I'd start off doing a couple rounds of motor oil saver. If that improves or fixes your consumption, then go back to the Cera Tec
@@AudiC7Owners Subz77z may want to check with LiquiMoly before doing this. They say to be very careful when changing fluids, because they say motors do get used to them. Glad I found your Channel 💯 I recently picked a B8.5 S4 (2013) with the 3.0t I see ya got a oil dipstick which I am after But do not want to order for ECS. Where Did you get yours?
Hi Cameron, I have a q5 3.0t had the PCV/Oil separator changed including all hoses thermostat and water pump. Noticed no more oil consumption. After about a month of of this repair I added less than a quart of oil. Then after about 12 days I noticed that we needed to add about a quart of oil then after 5 days another quart? What gives? any Ideas? Here's the things I had the Oil separator replaced previously because it was defective. Yes the parts are from the Audi factory so the question is what's going on with oil consumption. Taking the car to the shop to do a scan to see if this part failed again. If so do you have any insight what may cause it to fail again? Or other ideas?
That is really strange. Have you inspected your valve cover gaskets for leaks? That was my main problem. How are your driving habits? Aggressive or docile?
I don't on occasion. But if you are already having kicked up oil rings and other things that are result of built up carbon from neglect it likely will not do a ton to help you
Nope. That's the reservoir for our divorced setup. But check out our pcv relocation diy playlist. We will be installing a catch can when we complete that
@@AudiC7Owners what do you recommend for an oil catch can? (ie, brand, model) And what kind of 'catches' should we beware of, like how it behaves in winter?
1) you can't run a catch can on the 3.0t without modifying the pcv system. That's why we are installing ours when we do our pcv relocation. 2) the biggest thing is that you can't let it freeze. So if you live in a place where the car will be subjected to freezing Temps for a long time, I wouldn't install one. 3) I'm going to be using an integrated engineering can, but as long as you get one that has a good baffle you will be good. I also highly suggest getting one that allows you to drain from the bottom.
@@AudiC7Owners wow thanks for this info! So when it's freezing outside for a few days, or forecast says it will, you should have a quick and easy way to remove (and reinstall) it, right? Does the IE can do that? Or should I just wait for your video lol
stupid question from a new audi owner here 🙋♂️. is it safe to leave the dipstick in your car or should i put the plug back after i get finished checking/ changing the oil? like i said stupid question but i’m not sure since it comes with the plug 🤦🏼♂️
Is it acceptable to mix brand of oil, I want to start using liqui moly but I still have 2/3 of oil left. I did stage 1 tune and I can see that I am burning oil more quickly.
Hello, brother. My car has a problem, it reduces the oil of the engine and it's on my screen (add oil, max 1L you can continue driving), isn't it bad for my engine if I go a few kilometres on it?

@@AudiC7Owners < wait, what? Why do they do that? Is it true for anybody or do you have a deal of some sort with them? I've been buying the same exact oil change kit from them for years and never heard of that.
When it is cold the oil is all at the bottom of the engine, so there is a little chain rattle until the oil moves through the engine. This is normal as long as it doesn't last longer than 2 seconds

Leiflucht is their best oil. That is straight from my LM rep. Molygen is good for finding leaks. Each of them have additives. The Ceratec will still help
This is why I refuse to use the extractor I had even bought one and returned it. It just doesn't make sense that it could pull all of the oil. Most will be technically over filling if they have all that left over abd potential to ruin the oil pump.
