An ice block features in at least one shrine that I can recall. They probably meant to use the ice block object for other puzzles that might have involved water and just didn't implement any in the final release.
It kinda makes sense though. Ice melts in water when the water is a hotter temperature. I can actually observe the ice melting when I pour water in it.

Reminds me of my first playthrough when I didn't realize there was a second blue flame. Going from Hateno to Akala with a torch...hiding from the rain like a dang npc. It was idiotic but it sure felt like I was on an adventure!

Maybe I will attempt to do this and update with the results. Just don't get your hopes up, I'm probably going to fail, since I don't know how to even do the crazy stuff he does.

the first time i attempted this quest i thought you had to bring the ice block to the person in the desert afteral i thought there were to hot to go to gurodo town, however after suscefully carrying the ice in the night with an ice rod all the way there she simple refused to take the ice, and instead went all the way to gurdo city when i told her that her drink was made. so selfish.
Nice. A more hand-friendly BLSS to store speed is to do 270 degree rotations, as in aim NE on the stick, rotate clockwise to NW, hold, rotate counterclockwise back to NE. I think you don't get same kind of acceleration as with a wiggle but it's a lot more intuitive and doesn't kill your hands.
Probably my favorite little detail in TOTK is that now that link is 4-5 years older, you can actually order a noble pursuit from the bar, and it goes into your inventory as a consumable item.
if you go up high enough the tempertures get low enough for the ice not to melt so you could have moonjumped past this height and slowly moonjumped to akkala
i fr thought i needed to bring the ice at night to the village i got the ice at night, (couldnt). waited till day, got some ice, waited till night, then walked across the desert into the town only to realize i just needed to walk through the ruins
I mean, when it's about to become spring where I live, rain _does_ help with melting the ice so they're not entirely wrong, it's just not as fast as in the game (and if it get's cold at night it might freeze over and cause a new layer but ut still usually less than whet it helped melt)
When I did the setup, I didn't also setup hold prompt entanglement to be able to hold the roasted endura carrot(I think thats the cooked item used). So I went with the next best thing, 181 + 10 shot cluster. 1810 damage is still more than enough to kill almost everything in the game so I wasn't upset about it.
There's a glitch that allows you to escape/leave the final boss fight with Ganon. Doing so allows you to permanently keep the Bow of Light. Oh.....And (obviously) because it's a glitch........it can be repeated, allowing you to obtain as many Bows of Light as you want!
Memory Storage or "Inventory Slot Transfer" are the two methods of obtaining the Bow of Light. IST being the easier method(Memory storage was the first/old method). As for duplicating, IST can do it, or you can just hang it up at your house. The game will insert it back into your inventory and also onto the wall. The reason I have 2 is because of having one from Memory Storage a long time ago, and the second is because I used IST and "Weapon Modifier Corruption" glitches to get a second one with 181 damage that fires 10 arrows at once. @ElDuende05 has good videos on IST(specifically for getting a bow of light) and Weapon Modifier Corruption.

As to why one of them has 181 damage, that's "Weapon Modifier Corruption". In short with IST and a multi hour setup you can write incorrect values to weapons and shields resulting in super weapons(Like a 181-220 damage bow of light that shoots 10 arrows as seen here). The Bow of Light is more than enough to take care of almost anything and the corrupted one is beyond overkill. I only bothered getting it because of the stupid things I do, I don't have time to actually fight enemies. "El Duende 05" has great videos on both IST(with a video specifically dedicated for transfering the Bow of Light) and Weapon Modifier Corruption.

Well you can get it wet with chu jelly so I think they just applied melting to wet objects, and rain makes objects wet.

that's a bummer, the ice quest was one of my favorite ones. Going through it had so much fun dialogue, I love little side quests like that!
