I don’t know if this will make sense, but… Do they make bags sized by the width of the bag or opening or is that determined by the length of the bag? I’m looking for a wider bag in order to mix different colors without them getting too mixed up in the bag before I start piping, but what I’m finding in the stores are all about the same widths, just longer or shorter bags, but the openings and width don’t seem to differ much.
The bag sizes are a length measurement. So the longer ones will be a bit wider but might not be what you are looking for. They are all about the same angle, if you imagine them as a triangle when laid flat. The bags will all have about the same width at the bottom since that angle is the same. It's about the tips fitting flush inside when you aren't using a coupler. That said if you are using a bag and you want to load up several colors I find opening it over the rim of a glass or a quart container(for larger bags) can help keep it open and in place while you load up your colors so you have more control. If you want to keep the colors separate they sell multi compartment bags and multi part coupler set ups to allow you to do just that. I might look into those two things as they might help you achieve your desired look!
hi they are Ateco Polyurethane Pastry Bags. they come in multiple sizes and you can buy them on amazon. Wilton also has a line of bags called featherweight decorating bags that are very similar.
Can you cut the polyurethane one to fit the large Russian tips? Would it ruin the reinforced tip if I do that? I’m talking tips that are 5cm across at the opening. Thank you
