You seem to be confusing Corpus Christi with Galveston. Galveston is immediately adjacent to Houston (50 miles apart), so if it comes ashore between the two then it is hitting both.

I went to Jamaica in September, very friendly people. Hearing that there were 2 causalities really upsets me.. extremely sad to see such friendly people get hit by this storm.. I send my prayers to Jamaica 🇯🇲❤️

I agree with a few others - you seem to be misplacing Galveston. Galveston is just south of Houston. You keep referring to the coastal bend, particularly the Corpus Christi area, when you say Galveston.

Hitting at the Mexico/Texas border, while not good news for SpaceX, would be a small blessing for San Antonio and Central Texas, we could do with several days of rain. As these things go they usually make landfall more to the East, rarely as far West as Port Aransas, and Houston always gets drenched while Central Texas gets at most some clouds. It seems we've been in a drought for 20 years where I live, there are cracks in my yard so wide and deep I can't let my Chihuahua out for fear she'd fall into one and never be seen again. So at the small risk of regretting it, I say bring on the hurricane!! I'll dance naked and joyously in the rain, I might even sell tickets!

Well the new cone is showing it is def. going to take a northern turn. So Max accidentally saying Galveston in this video, is now what the new outlook is showing. including all of Houston, and going up into Dallas, San Antonio etc.! It looks like it will still be a Hurricane as of Sunday, 8 am. right off the coast of Southern Texas! wind speed between 74 MPH and 110 MPH

So I think you are confused on where Galveston is. You might have meant Brownsville or Corpus Christi when you were saying Galveston. Galveston is a barrier island just south of Houston - storms that hit Galveston hit Houston too.

Where is the south Texas town of Gavelston? If you mean Galveston, that's right south of Houston of about 30 miles. Both are in southeast Texas.

At the 5pm update the NHC has it re-intensifying to a cat 1 in the gulf
But the hurricane category only depends on windspeed, why can’t we add more things of a hurricane into the hurricane category?
