Dude, yes. I love how you make a video anytime there's an announcement regardless of the brand. So much more easier than going through all the emails from retailers. It's like Gemini Jets is reading my mind with these recent TWA releases in 1/200 between the MD-80s, DC-3, and now this. A 727-100 in the 70s livery??? That's the original TWA 727 look. I have the 727-200 in the same lively by inflight200. It has the exhaust marks on the tail, such cool detail. Maybe they will do the 747-100 twin stripes in both scales next! Let's face it, we need em to be released. Keep up the good work, JJ. Again, I saw this thumbnail and was like no way.
Holy shit - I hope Gemini makes a better 717 than Phoenix, my Midwest 717 has a downright ridiculous nose... of course since I need multiples for my MKE project, I also hope it's a different registration (they had 25 after all), bad nose be damned 😂 I'm only aware of three Midwest (Express) 1:400 models (before this one comes out): the Phoenix 717, the SMA DC-9, and the Dragon/Gemini MD-80 - I have the Phoenix and the SMA, but haven't been able to track down the Mad Dog. Any others beside those three out there so far? Hopefully this release sells well enough that someone sees fit to release another MD-80. Only people who lived in/near Milwaukee (and later Omaha) flew Midwest regularly, but those of us who did were AND REMAIN loyal. It was more than just the cookies, it really was The Best Care in the Air, and we miss it. And yeah: it was my search for a die cast Midwest Express DC-9 to remember the old days that got me into the hobby, and that SMA is still one of my favorite models... even though its nose isn't great either, it's a damn sight better than the Phoenix. 😉
@ There’s an Aeroclassics DC9-10, DC-9-30, SMAC DC-9-30, and the Phoenix 717 to choose from. A MD-80 has never been made, if there was I’m sure we’d both have a stack on our shelves. Best of luck on your MKE project, I’m doing the same thing too. Long live YX. 🍪
@@DeltaMD-88Fan hahahaha holy crap I saw one on eBay and I figured it was just one of those old models from the decals days (since the cheatline is crap over the wing) ...but it's just some other MD some person painted and put their own stickers on. Well, there's a nice opening for someone to release a real one, then. I need to track down that Aeroclassics.
@@VinceWhitacre Keep your eyes out for NG next year, all variations of the Midwest MD-80s have been requested with plenty of support to back them up. Next year is the year we’ve been waiting for.
Really excited for all the United future releases and I was surprised to see them make a Star Alliance special since JC tends to do those and it being a minute since their last Star Alliance special. I also hope they make the other Evo's like the 739, A320, ERJ 145, etc. I will say it's also really cool seeing GJ's releases these past few years and kinda having a comeback among collectors.
The bombshell of future announcements-GJ shots fire!
Yaaaay TWA 727-100

I only make these if there’s lots of goodies to dig through - certainly the case here! Excited for Gemini Jets in 2025.
Midwest 717 😭❤
