The sounds brought back memories when I was 11 or 12 years old in the 80's skating rink...when playing this arcade I was so blown away from all the visual and audio that seems to be projecting into you due to the structure of the cabinet cockpit feel...very visceral
The SC-01 is fun to program for because it uses phonemes which are speech sounds to combine to form spoken words. One of my all time favorite games, I've got an upright in my collection.
Great pickup Great memories playing Gorf at local mom and pop pharmacy early 80s Hopefully the heat in your garage won’t damage the cabs in there Be nice to collect all mini/ cabaret cabs for a home arcade
There are about 10 holy Grails as far as arcade games are concerned. While there are literally thousands of different cabinets and they're all great there are about 10 which define the era. This is one of them, well done.
I have a GORF mini at my home arcade. A fun one for sure and great form factor.

When I was young my dad had 1942, Ghosts n’ Goblins, Arkanoid and Wonder Boy. I don’t have room for full size cabinets but in my Multicade those games are mandatory.
I know you grew up in RI....and I grew up in Maine (Live in NC now) but seeing the cactus blows my mind.....the desert must be like a different planet than New England! Great video Ralph!
I love this Classic Man! My 5 year old son loves playing WIZARD OF WOR which has the same Amazing sounds! That's another Killer 2 player Sleeper from Midway! This Cabaret will just rise in value as time goes on, great P/UP Ralph...
Just picked up dedicated Double Axle arcade a couple of weeks ago. I am having somebody local install a 25 inch crt wels gardner because the cabinet has a smaller crt that someone installed which should not be in there. The cabinet originally came with a 25 inch. Luckily I have the original Taito bezel. I was so happy when I came across the game for sale, I used to play it when I was a kid in 1991 at the local pizza parlor.
I'm really glad you were finally able to get this. I could tell you weren't really all that happy with the cocktail cab version, so I'm glad you got this one. My must-have cabinet was TMNT. I got the Arcade 1Up version, so the itch is scratched for the most part, since there's no way I could have a full size version of that one.
If I had to pick 1 cabinet, it would be Defender. I used to spend my allowance ($1.00) on Defender at the corner card store. If you put in 4 quarters, you got 5 games instead of 4. I sucked so bad at it but loved it. Of course it has to be one of the games that need the correct control deck to play so Arcade1Up including it on the rampage cabinet and the midway legacy was a waste. Although by adding a USB keyboard to the Rampage cabinet, I was able to get the controls somewhat close to the original by remapping the buttons.
And being an uproot from Michigan living in arizona. For over 12 years. Still finding new spots on my body that can sweat from the heat.. Fingernails can sweat apparently. Had no idea. Good find though..
I remember being all pumped when Gorf came out on cartridge for the Commodore 64, but discovered levels were missing when playing it (low cart storage). $40 wasted!!!!
Congrats on the acquisition! GORF was my favorite game by far growing up and my first arcade cabinet I purchased over 15 years ago. Didn’t buy another one until fall of 2019 when I finally gave in and bought an A1up Pac Man knowing it would be the start of something... and many A1ups later I now also have 6 full size arcades and counting! The “something” happened!
great pickup.you even got the original joystick atlot of times people replace them with either the tron or satan's hallow joysticks especially since the sticks for those cabs are all the same except in color (they were all molded off the same mold),plus good move on picking up the new power supply remember to do the same if you ever get a dedicated paperboy
Great pick up Ralph. I'm glad you got the Gorf. It's a must have game for any arcade. I never knew the flight stick would light up. That's pretty cool. My must have game is Mad Planets and Tapper. I may have to go game hunting in AZ soon and visit Dave. I've been to his place once before. Cool guy.
I think I told this story before but it used to be a Ms. Pac-Man but thanks to the stimulus I got a hold of an Arcade 1up Ms. Pac but a close 2nd has to be Black Tiger by Capcom! first game I ever learned how to finish on one credit its definitely a tough one if you don't know what's coming, but once you've memorized where all the killer rocks are and where the hidden bonus items are it definitely becomes a lot easier! so if I had one to put next to the Ms. Pac that would definitely be a dream come true!!
Golf is one of my shooter games of all time I played it on the arcade, atari and coleco vision it what made this unique it was one of the first talking games it was ahead of it,s time
My only must have in original arcade form so far was Assault. I tried a few things on mame and it never translated very well, so I kept searching and got one in relatively good condition, relatively cheap, and relatively close late last year. Moving that thing convinced me there is much merit in A1Up's form factor! Another would have been Star Wars, but I find the A1Up one scratches the itch enough serve.
Dude! Great Video! I too have a GORF Cabaret I have it next to a Galaga Cabaret. The only two I have. It has been in my collection for over 20 years! You know my friend Arcade Hollywood in OH. Always dig your enthusiasm! Great find!
Hey bud, thanks for watching! That must be cool having two cabaret cabinets right next to each other! Thanks for taking the time to comment and thanks again for watching the video!
Nice Find! I have never played Gorf, I saw it in several arcades back in the day, but I never played it. I played Galaga instead. It seems like it has several modes that resemble different games, I probably saw the attract mode while it looked like Galaxian or Space Invaders, and assumed it was a clone of those games. I HAVE to load this up in emulation and play now :)
Ralph i am so glad to see that you try to keep the cabs as original as possible and if you have to make any changes you still keep the original parts,my must have cab has to be Star Wars.
I remember as a kid this game was set up in the front a Rinks department store in Chillicothe Ohio. I got so good at this game that my Dad would give me a quarter and I’d play the entire time they’d shop on that one quarter. Gotta be one of my favorite games ever . I remember a tail gunner game being set up next to it:) loved that game also:)
I really do love GORF. Great multi-gaming thing on the same level as TRON and JOURNEY. Cough cough. I know people don't like journey the arcade game I get it but. Five different types of games on one arcade game. That you can pick on what game you want to play. The comparison makes sense. But is it me I do remember the trigger joystick on GORF was very springy feeling.. But that was on the full arcade game not on the cabaret never played that. But was that springy feeling on the cabaret?
I have occasionally sat down and taken a long and hard thought about what my must have would be... Obviously the Gorf that was lost in the abandoned bowling alley roof collapse is a big for me due to the nostalgia attachment with that specific cabinet, but I wouldn't want jsut any Gorf cabinet - it's not a good enoguh game for me to want anything other than a specific cabinet that no logner exists. So in the end, I'd have to say my must haves would be Cyber Sled, and Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge. I was a BEAST at Cyber Sled in the local arcade - as long as my opponent didn't get to the fastest sled before me, I would almost always win. And while Darkstalkers 3 is the best game in the franchise, Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge is solid AND the fighting game most attached to my arcade memories. If I didn't have enough money to have multiple games of Cyber Sled, I was playing Night Warriors.
Congrats! Great find! I played Gorf a lot. Cabinets I have to have? Missle command cocktail. Wizard of Wor. Xenophobia,(3 player?) asteroids /asteroids deluxe. Luckily Arcade1up has most of this in some variants. (I have the partycades and upgrading the trackball already and will make my own custom deck for Missle command. But yes. Real units some day. Though upgrading stock partycades scratches most of that itch
Great find! Thank for the tip with the degaussing coil. I need that for my MK cab. Does that work better than a degaussing wand? I would love to find a MK4 board as that would complete my Mortal Kombat collection. I would love to find a Narc and and Ghosts & Goblins.
This is so cool! Robotron 2084, Donkey Kong, GI Joe, Wrestlefest and TMNT for real cabs if i could ever find any. Atari Star Wars and Pac-Man if I can cheat and add more.
The Gorf game looks a litle like Space Invader but with much better gameplay. The one arcade i would love to own if i had the space for it ,it would be Double Dragon.
Star Wars (Atari), Star Wars Trilogy (Sega), and Discs of Tron (environmental version) are my grail games. I certainly wouldn’t turn down Tempest, Robotron 2084, Omega Race, Asteroids, Defender, Star Trek, Ms. Pac-Man, Vanguard, or Dragon’s Lair though.
You know..... I grew up as a Sega Kid... Then became an Xbox Teen... I say that because my reference to those Creepy voices was from the Original Xbox Dashboard... But even when I heard them as a kid I could never remember wear I heard it from. I think I may has walked by a machine with those sounds at the Arcades and just resonated with me when I heard it again in my early teens. But also, Sega being an Arcade Corner Stone, with MS Employees whom started Xbox heavy Arcade Gamers it all makes sense to me in terms of why I have my platforms of choice. I also just booted up my old 360 like a month ago.... I never realized what a Mecca it is for Original arcade Ports or HD rereleased and not just half ass ports.
Glad you got it! Again also happy you got the Candy Cab awhile back. Could have easily taken those ;) Sad to hear about some other machine not making it?
Ooooh so many..... Tron Zaxxon Pole Position Dragons Lair Firefox Satans Hollow Donkey Kong Jr Gorf :) Jurassic Park Pinball Space Fury Spy Hunter Gyruss Star Trek - Sega Vector Track and Field Star Wars - sit down version Hydro Thunder Daytona NFL Blitz Gauntlet II Toobin Double Dragon Virtua Racing Indiana Jones - Temple of Doom Yie Ar Kung Fu San Francisco Rush I think I just need to buy Flynn’s Arcade ;)
Happy Memorial Day! I think it would be Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, I know could get it from arcade1up, kind still new on the hobby of arcade, lol
Get a haircut you hippy ; ). Nice addition to the collection. I think this might be the first arcade game I ever played in Disney World's arcade when I was a kid.
I remember back in 1984 I was working at a gas station as a cashier and my coworker had asked me to take a shift and in return He took me over to a guy's house who was retiring from his route as an arcade vendor I walked inside his garage ton of games they're in the middle was a cocktail table gorf and I walked out of that garage with that cocktail table gorf for only $40 $40 I kid you not best deal ever
And yes the cocktail table Garth that I picked up from the guy was in mint condition perfect working order the only thing was the player to side wouldn't work but we got ahold of a local vending company and they told us to taken solder a wire soldering wire there to bridge the gap on that setting and it worked perfectly Player 1 and 2
I have 6 gorf machines that work fine and 3 that don't. Someday you gotta come see all the games I have. Everything is for sale. My dad and me put games in stores in the 80,s and early 90.s in 4 different states until he passed away. Now I have 1400 cabinet games and 4 semi trailers full of parts and pieces. I would like to sell it all in one lot but nobody has that kinda money. I'm gonna let a top shelf auction company sell it if someone doesn't buy it soon
The sounds brought back memories when I was 11 or 12 years old in the 80's skating rink...when playing this arcade I was so blown away from all the visual and audio that seems to be projecting into you due to the structure of the cabinet cockpit feel...very visceral
Totally agree, I am 53 and those memories cam flooding back
The SC-01 is fun to program for because it uses phonemes which are speech sounds to combine to form spoken words. One of my all time favorite games, I've got an upright in my collection.
I’m happy you finally got a Gorf. Great production value on the video. Kudos, really enjoyed it. My dream cab would be a Donkey Kong cab.
owned the full size GORF back in 1991.. game was awesome! the speech in the game was quite high tech back then..
Love Gorf. When I was a kid, a neighbor friend of parents had Gorf and battlezone cabs. Saved me a lot of quarters.
Great pickup
Great memories playing Gorf at local mom and pop pharmacy early 80s
Hopefully the heat in your garage won’t damage the cabs in there
Be nice to collect all mini/ cabaret cabs for a home arcade
Never seen a Gorf like this.. Beautiful! Such an iconic cab, sounds are burned in my brain. Congrats!! ❤️
There are about 10 holy Grails as far as arcade games are concerned. While there are literally thousands of different cabinets and they're all great there are about 10 which define the era. This is one of them, well done.
List the 10?
All cabarets?

One of my all time favs. This for me is a “must have”. Also Donkey Kong and Tron.
My must have cabinets, Gorf (full size), Taito space invaders. Can't beat the old cabs, so iconic ....
I'm really glad you were finally able to get this. I could tell you weren't really all that happy with the cocktail cab version, so I'm glad you got this one.

For over 12 years.
Still finding new spots on my body that can sweat from the heat..
Fingernails can sweat apparently.
Had no idea.
Good find though..
Yeah, the heat can be brutal. I’m not looking forward to the summer. 🔥
What a plot twist after Gorfgate in arcade pickers. Congrats on the find!
Thanks bud! I'm super stoked to have this, it just needs a little TLC and she will be back to her glory days. Hope all is well bro!
Awesome. Will be great to see it once it's cleaned up and looking better
I already got all the paint off the front, I’m going to work on the sides this week. Thanks for watching bud!
I remember being all pumped when Gorf came out on cartridge for the Commodore 64, but discovered levels were missing when playing it (low cart storage). $40 wasted!!!!

My must have top 5:
-Ice Cold Beer/Zeke’s Peak (wish me luck)
-Moon Patrol
-Time Pilot
-Donkey Kong
-Donkey Kong Jr
Great pick up Ralph. I'm glad you got the Gorf. It's a must have game for any arcade. I never knew the flight stick would light up. That's pretty cool. My must have game is Mad Planets and Tapper. I may have to go game hunting in AZ soon and visit Dave. I've been to his place once before. Cool guy.
Gorf was the first game I ever got for the Vic 20 I had back when I was a kid. Sad part is that it didn't have as many levels as the arcade version.
I accidently wrecked one of those Gorf cabs. It was outside a sweet shop on a little step, and while I was playing it, the machine fell backwards.
Love the “old school” Retro Ralph opening!
Love that you noticed. ❤️
So.... he haves the Gorf.. it's a bout TIME ! 😄
Never played the game it looks fun with the joystick.
That LED is really cool starts blinking 👌
Gotsta have the gorf, now you have moved into the upper echelon of gaming cabs two 👍 👍 up
Golf is one of my shooter games of all time I played it on the arcade, atari and coleco vision it what made this unique it was one of the first talking games it was ahead of it,s time
Even the light on the joystick works! Great add Ralph. 👍 Happy Memorial Day

Nice pickup-- Centipede cabaret is the one I currently want the most!
I’ve no cabinets - apart from my custom full-size retropie cabinet
But an original Tempest and Stargate should be cool (if I had the room lol)
I always remember the sound/voice of Gorf being louder than that
Funnily enough, all my 'must haves' are cocktails - Tempest, Crystal Castles, Ms. Pac-Man, Mr. Do!, the list goes on...
My must have is a Fire Power pinball, brings back fond memories of playing video games at lunch with my sister
It would be cool if there were some way to add the other three compatible games to this, Space Zap, Wizard of Wor and Robbi Roto
Congrats, I love me some Gorf.
Ralph i am so glad to see that you try to keep the cabs as original as possible and if you have to make any changes you still keep the original parts,my must have cab has to be Star Wars.

I really do love GORF.

Man you have so many restos that we'd love to see :)
I have a video coming next week to update the progress of the restores, thanks for watching man!
Looks like the size of the 1 ups
At 3:30 , how do you play the cabaret game if you are 6-foot tall guy?
Congrats! Such a classic game, nice pickup!
Tron
Robotron
Battleshark

Hahaha glad you got the Gorf brother 💪🏽❤️
For me I'd love to have a Thunder Blade 😉
Ralph I got a little anxious when you walked that cab backwards down the ramp lol. 😰..But seriously, that's so badass you found it.
The Gorf game looks a litle like Space Invader but with much better gameplay. The one arcade i would love to own if i had the space for it ,it would be Double Dragon.
Only thing better then 1 Gorf is 2 GORFS!!!!

Awesome picks man 👍🏻 thanks for watching! Robotron 2084 is on my list too.
Awesome pick up, give it a good clean then it’ll really pop
Is Gorf several video games wrapped up in one? Looked like it is a combination of at least Space Invaders and Galaga.
I’d love to have Tron and Disk of Tron
i like the gorf game but it reminds me when i got my pac-man mini for $500 and now they are worth around 900+
As far as the cabinet I “have to have”, I want a few:
- Donkey Kong sit down arcade
- TRON full cabinet
- PlayChoice 10 setup
👍🏽👾
The only must have cabinet my holy grail that I want is WWF wrestlefest arcade cabinet
Great score on this awesome Gorf cab! I’ll be in Phoenix later this week I’ll help you get it inside if I can play a few games hahaha
So this is the GORF I keep hearing about.
My Cabinet well two. SF 2 Turbo and the other is Terminator 2 pinball :)
My have to have would prob be sega rally . Let me know if you ever come across one at a good price
The House of The Dead 2 Upright Cabinet is the holy grail for me. Maybe when I don't live in an apartment haha 🤞🏻
What’s cheaper renting that Uhaul or the $20 an hour truck from Home Depot
Congrats! That is a primo find.
Ayyyyy, you finally got the Gorf! Congrats man! I love any cabaret. *edit* I know it’s basic, but I really would love a Ms. Pac cabaret.
Oh man, I would too bud, thanks for watching!
I would give good money to know who has the ONLY dedicated cabinet to DO! Run Run.......
No way! Mini? Cabaret? That's an Arcade 1up now a days 🤣...
my Alexa had a notification and when you yelled Alexa Stop! Mine stopped showing the yellow ring. Thanks Ralph!! haha
🤣🤣🤣 I got you man. 💪🏻
I have 2 Golf Cabarets. Rarity has a lot to do with location.
Klax, Gauntlet, Arkanoid series my holy grails.
Oh man, I almost came home with a Arkanoid cocktail cabinet! I should have grabbed it. It was a converted Nintendo cocktail.
Ooooh so many.....

Good video Ralph. 👌
Happy Memorial Day! I think it would be Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, I know could get it from arcade1up, kind still new on the hobby of arcade, lol
My holy Grails would be Gorf, spyhunter , or Armor Attack.
Old interview with J. Fenton, the creator of Gorf, and some footage of the unreleased sequel Ms. Gorf:
th-cam.com/video/AretGtg4GHQ/w-d-xo.html
OMG thank you for sending this, this is awesome!
Get a haircut you hippy ; ). Nice addition to the collection. I think this might be the first arcade game I ever played in Disney World's arcade when I was a kid.
Or funny.
I remember WIZARD OF WAR during attracts screens it it would say..
I NEEK AH IZZARD OF FLOOR..
Holy Grail for me would have to be "Galaxy Force 2"
Bright and Tight, (snicker)
If I had the time, money, and space, one of my cabinet "holy grails" would be Ninja Baseball Bat Man. And maybe The Simpsons.
T2 if a1u makes one i'll be happy with that
My must have is Joust 2: survival of the fittest
I remember back in 1984 I was working at a gas station as a cashier and my coworker had asked me to take a shift and in return He took me over to a guy's house who was retiring from his route as an arcade vendor I walked inside his garage ton of games they're in the middle was a cocktail table gorf and I walked out of that garage with that cocktail table gorf for only $40 $40 I kid you not best deal ever

Love your Gorf mini. Such a fun, challenging game. Only "must have" that I'm still searching for is Food Fight. 🥧
I’m sorry to hear about your dad bud 😞. Where in the country are you located? Would love to visit, even if it just was to see everything you have.
@@RetroRalph I'm in frankfort ky. Anytime you're near hit me up and stop by. Probably take a couple of days to see everything
iircade needs gorf
Cory was the 1 dislike 🤣🤣🤣
