Thank you 🥺 I am definitely trying to be a step ahead to feel as comfortable and happy as I can with therapy and thinking about the bigger picture. Sometimes we hyper focus on silly things like just the dress instead of seeing it as the whole experience and what it really means in your life a future. I am trying to approach it that way and not pressure myself thinking my body is not “good enough”
I love how you and Polo are so considerate of those traveling to your wedding and making it sorta like a vacation for them 🥹🤍

Oow Lou, that's very brave of you to talk about body image and eating disorders. Don't stress too much, you look great; In my 20's I battled anorexia, now I'm in my 40's and it's still playing in my head to be skinny, but I can ignore the inner voice and I have a healthy weight right now.
Thank you so much for opening up! I do relate to the fact that it feels like an inner voice that constantly brings you down, it took me a really long time to allow myself to eat normal things and be happy. I think we carry on with it forever but we have to learn to keep that voice really low 🤍
@@JesuisLou I totally agree with you. The illness is real, it's not a phase you go through as a teen, it's not something that will pass in time.. it will stay tricky for the rest of our lives. And it's often a symptom of something bigger, in my case.. my father was a narcissist, he made me feel like I was nothing, a looser, a nobody... and so I started to take control over food, losing weight was something I was good in, I could starve myself for days; Despite being almost a skeleton, it was never enough, I kept feeling ugly and useless; I don't know your story but I recognized myself in you, now that I have a healthy weight I focus on clothes, purses, image; It feels safe to look good, like a shield to protect myself when I'm wearing designer items. It's a coping mechanism, but if you have the money it's totally fine and much better than to have an eating disorder. ❤
Omg Lou, Its been a while since I commented but now you are planning to get married in the best way possible. A close wedding is soo nice because its soo comfortable and lovey, simplicity at its best. Also I know we can hit 100k by then as your wedding gift :)

You will find the perfect dress. Just keep an open mind the first time and try on ALL shape options so know for sure what you love. You really can’t judge a dress on hanger or on another body shape. Lou, I love how open you are with all of us, this is why I enjoy watching your videos. Don’t stress about your wedding dress, you are going to look beautiful. Just a tip when you go try on wedding gowns, be open to try different styles and you will be surprised. I know weddings can be stressful but enjoy every little thing about it.
Keep doing what feels best to you and your fiance. A small and cozy wedding with the closest people to you both can be a dream come true. Stay true to yourself, trust your heart and instincts and try your best not to stress over those things you can't control. Enjoy the process. Congratulations 🎉

Love that you're taking us on your wedding planning journey. I have participated in many weddings and planned my own so just making a few suggestions from my own experience:
- If it's an outdoor wedding, I would have fans or parasols available for people, particularly if it's in the warmer season during the day. You can find some lovely, tasteful ones that are inexpensive.
- Have some sort of insect anti-repellant incorporated somehow if the wedding is outdoors. So many people get distracted (or worse, if they're allergic) by insects just from being outdoors. Lavender, peppermint and Thyme are natural insect repellents.
- Have portable heaters for the evening when it gets chilly. The venue should have something (similar to restaurants with outdoor seating.)
- I would highly recommend a dress code to your guests. I have seen guests show up in jeans, white dresses etc. to lavish weddings and I'm always appalled. Sometimes people just need guidance.
- Wear a dress that you feel good in and can wear all night, particularly with any weather change going from day to night. And don't feel the need to purchase something super expensive. You only wear it once and then stuff it in a closet.
-Hire a wedding coordinator (could be your planner if they offer the service) on your wedding day. You want to enjoy the day of your wedding and have someone else deal with all the stresses that come on that day because inevitably something always come up, big or small.
Just some random suggestions learned throughout out the years. 🙂
Your idea of the wedding sounds absolutely perfect. Very intimate, mine was this way. Everyone that was at my wedding touched my life in many ways, there was only love around us. Bravo to you! You will have fond memories of your special day for years to come. P.S. don’t worry about the dress, once you try the first one it will get easier.
Lou I am so excited for you! You will look absolutely stunning no matter what. I got married in June 2021 and it was a summer wedding, so my dress showed more skin and I put SO much pressure on myself to look "perfect" in my dress. It was such a waste of emotional energy because now I look back at the pictures and just think "why did I hate on myself so hard, I look incredible!". On your wedding day you should only focus on feeling happy and comfortable. Do not deviate from the styles/looks you love and are accustomed to. I wore my hair down at my wedding because I always wear it down. Be true to yourself so that you feel at ease

I have followed you for a while now and I got married in 2022, and I also struggle with my body image and weight. I was absolutely terrified to go wedding dress shopping, and leading up to the wedding I was so scared to look ugly. I ended up having a good experience dress shopping and finding an amazing dress, and I also have lots of wedding photos where I love how I look. I avoid the photos that I don't like and my memories of the day outweigh those feelings now. Go dress shopping with people who love and support you, it really helps the experience. But ultimately I had more fear than was necessary, and I found my dress at the first store I went to.
Lui, you are going to be absolutely beautiful although I completely understand about the body image piece. Here’s a suggestion. Think about getting your dress made. Your seamstress will be your partner in creating something with your dreams, body and comfort in mind. Good luck and again, very very happy for you both❤
I love the idea of the chateau with more outside activities (the pool and tennis courts to say nothing of golf are huge winners for your guests and will really uplift moods!). As for wedding dresses: you obviously pick anything you want, but I'd say: stay clear of strapless anything because if you want comfort and luxury, the strapless will have you feeling the need to check (or actually having to pull up) a slipping dress and that's the LAST last thing you want on your wedding day. You have such a lovely style, interpret that for your wedding: diaphanous, pearls, feminine, comfortable yet lux!

As for the anxiety to be the center of attention, don't you worry about it too because the joy and happiness to be around your loved ones will overdo the anxiety . For wedding dress shopping I would recommend you go with someone whom you trust and trust their opinion. And usually the first dress you pick is the one ❤
I got married when I was 29 and thought I was "fine" with my body/weight until it came time to find a dress. I wasn't fine. And to be perfectly honest, I have regrets years later about "how" I made decisions about my dress. To cover this. To cover that. If I could do it all over, I would not have put myself under all of that pressure. I did the same thing with my makeup and hair. I hired professionals that gave me what I thought a "wedding" look should be when I should have really gone with a look that was my own effortless beautiful look (minimal makeup, my hair down instead of up, etc.) -- You always look fantastic in your Zimmerman dresses, hair down, your minimal style of makeup. Remember that when it comes time for your special day:) Thank you for sharing.

I am getting married in two weeks, and doing something very very small - just a courthouse appointment and a private, 25 person family dinner at a restaurant - and even planning such a small event has been stressful! just remember, what matters is your and Polo's happiness and doing what's perfect for you

I can certainly identify with not being comfortable as the center of attention. But you’ll have such a small party of people who love you, just think of it as a family dinner/ occasion.

I’ve spent most of my life being the fat one. Now I’m older, and the people who were skinny kids are now fat adults and I’m the smallest one, lol. It’s all ok. You’re beautiful inside and out. I still don’t necessarily connect with what I see in the mirror. You’re not alone.

It's so good that you're sharing your anxieties, I'm sure there are a lot of people in the same situation. I felt the same about being the centre of attention, I mean, I love parties as long as they are other peoples parties! When we got married, my husband and I kept it as low-key as possible, we had two close friends as witnesses, and that was it! We did get married in a church despite not being religious, partly because I really dislike the brevity of a civil wedding in Denmark, I wanted something that had some sort of thought behind it. We were married by a vicar who had been really supportive of my husband's family during his father's illness. As my family doesn't live in Denmark, we waited to tell everyone, as we wanted to do it in person. Nobody had any issues with how we got married. At the end of the day, it was our big day, no-one else's.
Looking forward to seeing your journey evolve. Just do what is right for the two of you!

Hola Lou! Yo me caso en octubre de este año y me he sentido muy representada en algunas cosas que has dicho. En primer lugar, nuestra boda será de unos 35 invitados. Queremos sentirnos totalmente cómodos con la gente que nos acompañará ese día, vemos la boda más como un acto de amor y sentimientos con los nuestros que como una fiesta masiva. Al principio fue difícil pero finalmente hemos encontrado el sitio donde casarnos, con posibilidad también del que nuestros invitados se queden a dormir. Por otro lado, las alianzas era uno de los aspectos más importante, sino el MÁS importante de la boda, me encantan las joyas y necesitaba que fueran perfectas, nosotros ya las tenemos en casa, y es lo mejor que hemos podido hacer, sobre todo por que hubo algunos problemas que resolver con ellas, sin embargo, finalmente han sido perfectas. Por último, y respecto al vestido, lamento escuchar lo que comentas, yo soy una persona rellenita y me daba pánico el proceso, sobre todo ya que creía que el tipo de vestido que me gustaba no me quedaría bien, y sin embargo la experiencia fue fantástica, tengo justo lo que soñé, especialmente gracias a la vendedora, que supo entenderme en todo momento. Solo deseo que tengas una experiencia fantástica, que el día de la prueba vayas rodeada de personas que te quieren y con la mente abierta a posibilidades. Adoro tu contenido! Espero que el proceso siga siendo igual de bonito que hasta ahora :)

Ahh u are so beautiful but think this struggle for a lot of women I was always so so skinny and then my failed preg changed my body now I struggle with it and so hard for me but I got to point I’m never going be that size I’m ok with that and I love food way to much want to enjoy life my husband doesn’t care

Do you think that going with your bf to try on dresses will help? Maybe don't try on the ones you reaaaly like. Just try on a few so that with his support and love you feel more comfortable so you can later go with a friend or your mom for the one you like more.
And the other option is just going alone... you can even ask the sales associate not to let you know any opinions because this is sensitive for you... and whatever you like remember they will taylor it to your body... so it will fit perfect and you will look your best because in clothes fit is everything and it will be adjusted to you... wishing you all the best.
I was super worried too. So what i did i just tried a bunch of big dresses cause i wanted to feel like a princess but i wanted something simple. After a few dresses i found one i felt really like a princess so that was it. Because they taylored it to me it made a huge difference on how i felt. Xox
