The only man Yami shows respect to, the only one who was nice to Yami....The Wizard King! He never showed fear, just interest. I mean, of course Julius is a magic geek but still he was kind, never made fun of Yami even though he was a foreigner. Julius didn't give a shit what Yami was, it was his potential and that's why Yami showed respect to him because Julius wasn't like anyone else. I wish Julius had a backstory, he must have good parents or someone that raised him to be kind. Honestly! We need more people like royals to treat people with respect.

Okay so I gotta a question about dimension slash, so basically can Yami cut through any object? Since he technically doesn’t just cut it but the space between it itself. His Equinox dimension slash went through the sleepy lady’s void reality so could it break normal reality as well ? Even better what if he where to dimension slash earths core then what would work? I think In the magic knight entrance exam Yami saw how Asta had something unique and ominous just like him and he knew how Asta felt about how people make fun of him for having no magic that’s why Yami took him in..
There’s also his dream of becoming the wizard king. He personally went up and unleashed his mana to shake the entire testing ground just to see if his words were true.

In the middle ages, almost anyone who could afford to carry around a sword would do so. They were perfect for self-defense since they were too conspicuous to be used for mugging or theft while also having an advantage against knives and other concealed weapons that would've been used for mugging or theft.
Granted, most of that context is thrown out the window when you have a fantasy world where everyone has magic, but my point remains that it wouldn't be too suspicious.

Yami is from the country known simply as the Land of the Rising Sun. The Land of the Rising Sun is Black Clover's equivalent of Japan. The Land of the Rising represents China and Japan. Since the Clover Kingdom have a border along the ocean, it is aware of the Land of the Rising Sun. Contact between the Clover Kingdom and the Land of the Rising Sun is limited. There may be some trade between the two countries.

So did Yuno...the grimoire is just the medium through which mages focus their magic and use spells. They can already use their magic before getting their grimoire. The reason Julius only noticed him once he got it is because it had been the first time anyone had seen him use magic
The only person who got powers for the first time when he got a grimoire was Asta.

Makes me hope we get to see his country in future chapters after this current arc. I doubt he will be revealed as an isekai character from Japan sent to Black Clover's world. I mean even if that was the case he obviously isn't going back home cause he has the Black Bulls. A couple series I did watch/read does go into the fact that there are parallel worlds or different universes, but they never went much further than those hints or small glimpses at them (Reborn and Magi as a couple examples).
