4:56 here Italy 2 arrives at the ruck on the right side of the ruck on screen. He attempts to tackle england player that comes out and he goes around ruck and dont interfere. Ref blows him as offside. POOR POOR REFFING!!!

On England's second try, May passes forward but it's not on any highlights...
On the second try Mitchell is held and does a double movement... Getting back up.. should have been a penalty

Wasn't Mitchell tackled before scoring the try?
Although his knees were on the ground he wasnt held in the tackle and no ruck formed so play on in that instance.

Also looking the replay at 0.25x I can see his is back on his feet just an instant before the mates come to him, so as you correctly said no ruck and valid try.
Anyway, this was very close, I saw TMO called for much less than this

Do you have the right penalty? That incident was audibly called as a tackle off the ball, which it was, rather than offside. Listen before you embarrass yourself

Only in Rugby can you score more tries and lose. Make the penalties & field goal 2 points, that will make for an exciting running game like it should be

I really can't tell if this is because England have become so bad or it's that Italy have become a top tier side 🤔
we are far from being a top tier side.... i think we are showing some good and are improving but other teams also improving. We still struggle too much with reading situations and imposing our game.
Our Italian team has been steadily improving lately, and that's something to celebrate for sure for Italian fans, but England is quite shit at the time as well, so Italy definitely isn't "top-tier" regardless, I'm afraid.
