I found that keeping Mattingly on my bench and subbing him in for ortiz is the best way to combat the bunt cheesers
The bunting and players simply not throwing is a complete pain in the ass.
Sure there are situations were bunting makes sense,but the games overall rotation and lack of hustle from the AI is brutally broken.
Throwing inside, I don't have an issue with.

I played this guy on my way to World Series and he did the same to me. All of his runs scored came on bunts and cheesed the whole game

If you slow your swing down on inside pitches, then they will not be fouled off if your PCI is good. Also, bunts are part of baseball. You can't patch them out. That being said, he did get super lucky on some of the run-down plays. Only way to fix that would be to improve runner tagging while in the baseline between bases.
Bunts are not this. Bunts aren’t able to be done ever play and basemen don’t throw the speed of a 5th grader it’s just a sad sad game badly produced
@@hotspot131638837 Do you know baseball? Bunts are the surprise offensive play. Bunts are nearly guaranteed contact to move a runner up, or get a fast player on base. Bunts have been in baseball since the beginning. Rules can change to break up double plays, or brush back pitches, or even walking someone on 4 pitch outs to speed the game up, but bunts aren't going anywhere. Sorry you don't like them.

I am a little late for this video but what I will say applies to MLB TS22 as well… bunt defense is useless, you have to touch the D-Pad down and then triangle to adjust the defense manually… once in that menu set 2nd baseman to play in and the 3rd baseman to play bunt defense. That will neutralize these toxic bums

Played a dude just like this. Im fairly new to the game. I lost by one.. the created stadium was so deep bombs weren’t really happening for me. He demolished me with bunting and stealing then he would steal home and it was 50/50 if the game glitched out or not on the tag. It made me never want to play this game again 😂 oh and he R2’d the whole time which was fine because I just sat and stared at him for 20 seconds prior to every pitch lol.
