They both seem to be variations of the laser attack from the final game. They probably just cut it because they were a bit too long. Nothing much to miss.
It could've also have been a quick time events for how that was set up For how it looked It looked like you were supposed to be able to dodge the lasers for how long they needed to track

Man beta supreme intrigues me to no end. Super sonic interestingly had his Super Sonic 2 damage values in the base game files or code according to a prominent modder in the sonic community (I REALLY wish I wasn’t blanking on the name)
it's a shame, all the cut content makes supreme look like it was initially going to be the most climatic fight in the game, but due to frontiers being rushed, they just couldn't finish what they wanted to finish, if they decide to bring back the super sonic fights for the next frontiers-styled game, i hope they don't rush them like they did for this game
I swear, supreme is disappointing for what we got, imagine if the beta one had the most health/resistance against sonic's attacks and only when you deflect the sniper shot from supreme removes the resistance effect around it for set amount of time, but he'd have alot of health still... And I believe supreme has a lot of cut content as well... Like, wow
An unfortunate part of game development is that when the deadline is nearing, everything thats not finished or already incorporated, no matter how small must go
0:08 While the cutscene looks amazing, there is just one thing. Y'know how Sonic is looking around, kinda standing in the open? I mean, he can see the targeting lasers. Why couldn't he dodge them in that split second? That could've been a dodge QTE moment. In theory, they just cut it out for sake of only having minimal options? But that's just me speculating
I wish those lasers were instead of the lasers that hit Sonic out of his Super form on each island. Would have really shown Sonic's progress and mastery of Super Sonic to not lose the form from them.
I'm guessing the 1st version would be used when Sonic gets hit by the lasers for the first time, since he looks like he's caught off guard. The 2nd version would be used for the second time, since it looks like he's trying to dodge it, but the drones auto-lock onto him. Then the final version would be used after that, and so on. (To shorten out the cutscene time) But I guess they just decided to scrap the first two, for some reason.
