As a Naga studying in another state, we had it harder but during these most crucial times even when our own state government couldn't help us, this man was there for us the whole time! Same thing happened in the recent backdoor appointment agitation where thousands of people commented in the social media post however when it comes to actual participants roughly not even 20 peopl trun up ( including me).
Hard working, Honest, Young, Dynamic, Visionary Leadership qualities, etc are always put to shame before elections in Nagaland.. Be it MP election, NLA election or ULB election, money always has an upper hand in Nagaland. Let's see if this ULB election proves me wrong.
He can be a good candidate as a panchayat member but its not his time yet for ulb... "practical obstacles" was the good question by the interviewer. NDDP also promised 'CHANGE'... i am still waiting. Pot holes are only a grevience only for people who have cars. How about unemployed poor colony families/youths? How about promising to inform all the colony members when any gov schemes comes for the people. Not everyone has a smartphone or tech savvy.
Lets give chance to young leaders and get rid of most of the old corrupted guns be it in municipal,town council,general election etc. Nagas need true and visionary leaders not someone whose intention is only to suck public money.
Naga people should start....electing young one's. The old one's seems on run only for their pocket. Let's not fall under money but choose the right one for our better future.
Such would be a cleanness platform for democratic elections to ensure fair voting process now and in future. If the importance of media coverage is understood by the public and allowed to aired every candidate on television or radio shows it may promote political campaigns in total fairness in the State…discouraging the menace/corruption.
